Abstract

Una mezcla nutritiva para la identificacion y recuento diferenciado de microorganismos Gram-negativos constituida por desde 22 a 46% p/p de mezclas de fracciones proteicas ricas en triptofano o triptofano libre, de 15 a 20% p/p de sales orgánicas e inorgánicas, de 0,3 a 3,7% p/p de sustancias que proporcionan la aparicion de color o fluorescencia, de 2 a 4,5% p/p de inhibidores de organismos Gram-positivos y de 1 a 50% p/p de sustancias que proporcionan la aparicion de una o varias capas de medio. Se provee un método para la identificacion y el recuento diferenciado y temprano de microorganismos tales como Shigella sonnei, Shigella flexneri, Enterobacter, Escherichia coli, Citrobacter freundii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi y no typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, y otros microorganismos Gram-negativos. Se describe un método que consiste en la gelificacion de la mezcla de la mezcla, contacto con los microorganismos o muestras que los contienen, incubacion y opcionalmente la adicion de una capa soporte de celulosa o sus derivados con un indicador o revelador. La mezcla y el método permiten la aparicion de 5 colores diferentes en los organismos a detectar y la aparicion de emisiones fluorescentes de 3 colores, además de la aparicion de halos de 3 colores diferentes, y de zonas de precipitacion opaca alrededor de dichas colonias, rasgos que conjuntamentente con los cambios de color del medio permiten la diferenciacion con un alto grado de sensibilidad y especificidad.
