Abstract

Un proceso para producir 5-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-2,2-dimetilciclopentanona de la presente invencion que comprende: reaccionar el metil éster del ácido1-[(4-clorofenil) metil-3-metil-2-oxociclopentanocarboxílico o el etil éster del ácido 1-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-3-metil-2-oxociclopentano carboxílico conhidruro de sodio y haluro de metilo para obtener metil éster del ácido 1-[(4-clorofenil)metil-3,3-dimetil-2-oxociclopentanocarboxílico o el etil éster delácido 1-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-3,3-dimetil-2-oxociclopentano carboxílico; e hidrolizar el metil éster del ácido 1-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-3,3-dimetil-2-oxociclopentanocarboxílico o el etil éster del ácido 1-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-3,3-dimetil-2-oxociclopentanocarboxílico para obtener 5-[(4-clorofenil) metil]-2,2-dimetilciclopentanona. Tal proceso de la presente invencion puede producir 5-[(4-clorofenil)metil]-2,2-dimetilciclopentanona como un importante intermediarioen un fungicida para la agricultura o para la horticultura, con una alta calidad a una alta produccion.
