Abstract

Un proceso anhidro para la produccion de ácido acético por reaccion de metanol y/o dimetiléter con un reactante gaseoso que comprende monoxido de carbono ehidrogeno, estando presente el hidrogeno en cantidad inferior a 9 moles %, en presencia de un sistema catalítico que comprende al menos un metanol noble delGrupo VIII de la Table Periodica como catalizador, un compuesto halogenado como co-catalizador y una sal yoduro como estabilizante del catalizador, cuyoproceso comprende alimentar metanol y/o dimetiléter y el reactante gaseoso a un reactor de carbonilacion en donde se mantiene una composicion de reaccionlíquida que comprende (i) acetato de metilo en una cantidad de 1 a 35% p/p, (ii) anhídrido acético en una cantidad de hasta 8% p/p, (iii) compuesto halogenadoen una cantidad de 3 a 20% p/p, (iv) catalizador de metanol noble del Grupo VIII en una cantidad de 1 a 2000 ppm, (v) suficiente sal yoduro para proporcionarde 0,5 a 20% en peso de yodo como I y (vi) ácido acético consituyendoel resto de la composicion.
