Abstract

Secuencias nucleotídicas para promotores inducibles y constitutivos aislados a partir de una familia de genes de maíz que codifican las proteínasrelacionadas con patogénesis (PR-1), secuencias nucleotídicas para estos genes PR-1 de maíz, y secuencias de aminoácidos para las proteínas PR-1 codificada porlos mismos. Las secuencias nucleotídicas son utiles para regular la expresion de genes y para mejorar la resistencia a patogenos en plantas. Métodos pararegular la expresion de una secuencia nucleotídica heterologa en una planta de manera inducible o constitutiva, más particularmente, para regular la expresionde un gen PR-1 con el fin de mejorar la resistencia a enfermedades en una planta. Plantas transformadas, semillas y células de plantatransformadas conresistencia a enfermedades mejorada.Molécula de ácido nucleico aislada que tiene una secuencia nucleotídica seleccionada del grupo que consiste en:a) unasecuencia nucleotídica que comprende la secuencia mostrada en la SEC.ID. N* 1,2, 3 o 4; b) una secuencia nucleotídica que comprende por lo menos 40nucleotidos contiguos de la secuencia mostrada en la SEC. ID. N* 1, 2, 3 o 4; c) una secuencia nucleotídica que se híbrida bajo condiciones rigurosas con unasecuencia de a) o b); d)una secuencia nucleotídica que comprende la secuencia mostrada en SEC.ID. N* 5; e) una secuencia nucleotídica que comprende al menos40 nucleotidos contiguos de la secuencia mostrada en SEC. ID. N* 5; f) una secuencia nucleotídica que hibridiza bajocondiciones rigurosas a una secuenciade d) o e); g) una secuencia nucleotídica que comprende la secuencia mostrada en SEC. ID. N* 6, 8, 10 o 14; h) una secuencia nucleotídica que codificaun polipéptido que comprende la secuencia de aminoácidos mostrada en SEC. ID.
