Abstract
Un método y aparato para aplicar con precisión un cordón a un mandril giratorio que utiliza el control de la longitud del cordón, en lugar de latensión del cordón, como parámetro de control. El aparato incluye un mandril con un diafragmainf lable montado sobre una superficie externa del mandril. Eldiafragma es selectivamente inflable por medio de una válvula de control y una fuente de fluido presurizado para ajustar dinámicamente la circunferencia delmandril en respuesta a unasenal de entrada de comando. La senal de entrada de comando lee la tensión en el cordón que se está enrollando. El cordón espositivamente alimentado al mandril de acuerdo con un algoritmo definido en base a la forma, circunferencia y velocidadde rotaci ón del mandril, en lugarde la alimentación del cordón según requerimientos. El aparato incluye un cabrestante de control de la alimentación positiva que está electrónicamentecomandado. El aparato incluye también una rueda deimplantación de cor dón que aisla las fuerzas radialmente dirigidas de las fuerzas circunferencialmentedirigidas. Una segunda realización de la invención incluye la correa que gira sobre primera y segunda poleas mientras se aplica el cordón. Unadistanciacentral ent re la primera y la segunda poleas es selectivamente ajustable para controlar la tensión del cordón del mismo.
