Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un sistema y método para monitorear un cable de fibra óptica (2) conectado entre un equipo de transmisión de senalóptica (TX) y un equipo receptor de senal óptica (RX),y que comprende un primer (3) y unsegundo (4) dispositivos electroópticos para la medición de lapotencia óptica, ambos conectados a una unidad central de control (14) sobre una barra colectora o bus (13), y conectados en forma permanente a losextremos inicial y final,respectivamente, de l cable de fibra óptica (2), en dichos equipos transmisor (TX) y receptor (RX).
