Abstract
Un dispositivo de guía de onda acústico-óptica, sintonizable, con una respuesta independiente de la polarización, comprende un substrato (I) en unmaterial birrefringente fotoelástico, sobre el cual se obtienen, como mínimo, una etapa (20) deconversión de modos de polarización de dos componentes depolarización separados de una senal óptica, un primer y un segundo elemento selectivo de polarización (18, 19), ubicados hacia arriba y hacia abajo,respectivamente, de la etapa de conversión (20) y como mínimo una etapa de compensación (10; 100) para la conversión de modos de polarizacióncaracterizada porque, como mínimo, una guía de onda óptica (11; 110) transmite los dos componentes de polarización en una forma combinada. Un método para laconmutación acústico-óptica de senales se basa en dos conversiones de los componentes de polarización de una senal óptica, transmitidos separados y noseparados, respectivamente, mediante interacciones acústico-ópticas con dos ondas acústicas.
