Abstract
El tratamiento, a través de un proceso de adsorción en seco, de un gas procedente de un proceso electrolítico en caliente p/la producción de aluminio,comprende al menos 2 etapas (3,4). El óxido de aluminio en partículas (el adsorbente) pasa a través de las etapas (3,4) del proceso de adsorción encontracorriente con el gas. De este modo, el gas se trata con un adsorbente parcialm.agotado en la 1Setapa de adsorción en seco, tras lo cual el adsorbenteen partículas se separa del gas aguas abajo de la 1Setapa de adsorc. Parte del adsorbente en partículas separado se separa (33)del proceso de adsorción convistas a reciclar sust.adsorbidas conteniendo flúor al proceso electrolítico. El resto del adsorbente separado se recircula ala 1Setapa de adsorc.con el finde optimizar la adsorción de sust.conteniendo flúor y la desorc.de dióxido de azufre en esta etapa.Simultáneamente, el gas se trasnfiere a una 2Setapa deadsorc.en seco.En esta 2S etapa,el gas se trata con óxido de aluminio reactivo, en partículas, esencialm.no agotado,de forma que cualquier fluoruro gaseoso quepermanezca en el gas queda adsorbido de un modo muy eficaz, al mismo tiempo que se adsorbe también una parte importante del dióxido de azufre del gas. Finalm.este óxido de aluminio en partículas se separa del gas aguas abajo de la 2S etapa de adsorción en seco,antes de que el gas se descargue a la atmósferacircundante. El óxido de aluminio separado se transfiere a la 1Setapa de adsorc opcionalmente después de pasar a través de una etapa de desorción (8) p/laseparación de dióxido de azufre adsorbido,con el fin de reducir las descargas de dióxido de azufre del proceso de producc.de alumin.La separación de dióxidode azufre en la 2Setapa de adsorc. se mejora reciclando,a la 2Setapa de adsorc.,el óxido de aluminio que ha experimentado el tratamiento de desorción.
