Description
・入信信号の受信、復号、及びデスクランブル、及びLEDディスプレイ、クロック等の提供という点で機械自体を作動することなどの受信機/デコーダで使用されている機能を実行するためのハードウェアデバイスとソフトウェアデバイス
・デバイスとは別であるが、デバイスと対話するためにアプリケーションを開発できるようにするインタプリタなどのミドルウェア
以上の3つの態様は概してそれらが設置される装置のオペレーティングシステムによってサポートされている。
デジタルテレビシステム500の概要は図1に図示される。後述されるように、システム500は、後述されるように放送センタ1000、受信機/デコーダ2000、受信機/デコーダのソフトウェア/ハードウェアアーキテクチャ3000、対話システム4000、及び条件付きアクセスシステム5000を備える。
条件付きアクセスシステム
図3に関して、概要では、条件付きアクセスシステム5000は鍵管理システム(SAS)5200を含む。SAS5200は、1つまたは複数の顧客管理システム(SMS)1100、つまりTCP−IPリンクまたは他の種類のリンクであってよいリンク1044によって放送供給者ごとに1つのSMSに接続される。
受信機/デコーダ
図4を参照すると、受信機/デコーダ2000の多様な要素は、ここで機能ブロックという点で説明される。
受信機/デコーダのアーキテクチャ
図5に関して、受信機/デコーダのソフトウェア/ハードウェアアーキテクチャ3000は、任意の受信機/デコーダ内で、及び任意のオペレーティングシステムを用いて実現できるように編成された5つのソフトウェア層を含んでいる。多様なソフトウェア層はアプリケーション層3100、アプリケーションプログラミングインタフェース(API)層3300、仮想機械層3500、デバイス層インタフェース3700(多くの場合単に「デバイス層」と省略される)、及びシステムソフトウェア/ハードウェア層3900である。
システムデバイスの追加の態様
受信機/デコーダ2000内のソフトウェアデバイスの編成、及び特に強化された機能を提供するためのデバイスインスタンス生成と論理デマルチプレクサの使用は以下にさらに詳細に説明される。次に、デバイスインスタンス生成の前述された機能を有利に使用する論理デマルチプレクサが説明される。
デバイス管理に関連したデバイスのインスタンス生成
好適実施形態では、デバイスマネージャ3710は受信機/デコーダにより必要とされるデバイスのインスタンスを生成するように適応される。ソフトウェアデバイス及びそれらの詳細な構造のこのインスタンス生成はここで図9に関してさらに詳細に説明される。
論理装置
前記に示されたように、好適実施形態は論理装置を備える。論理装置とは、基礎を成すハードウェアの単一のアイテムに必ずしも一致しないが、一致することがあるデバイスである。論理装置により提供される機能性は、例えば、ハードウェアのアイテムによって提供される機能性の部分集合であってよいか、あるいはそれはハードウェアの多くのアイテムにより提供される機能性の合同体であってよい。それは、ハードウェアの1つまたは複数のアイテムのサポートなしにソフトウェアデバイス自体によって提供される機能性を含んでよい。さらに、論理装置は、1つまたは複数の追加ソフトウェアデバイスに呼び出しを行うことによってアクセスする機能性を提供してよく、それはハードウェアの1つまたは複数のアイテムのサポートをもって、あるいはサポートなしにその機能性を提供してよい。

・(トランスポートストリームからのパケットの抽出、それらのパケットのデスクランブル、及びそれらを表示のためにシステムの正しい部分に転送することを含む)サービスを再生することができるプレーヤ6220と、
・(トランスポートストリームからのパケットの抽出、番組ストリームの構築、及び記録のためのシステムの正しい部分へのそのストリームの転送を含む)サービスを記録できるレコーダ6230と、
・前記種類のデマルチプレクサデバイスの両方のアクションを実行することができるプレーヤ/レコーダ6240と、
の3種類の論理デマルチプレクサデバイスが提供される(図11を参照すること)。
複数のデマルチプレクサ/リマルチプレクサ
好適実施形態では、DDR2010は2台(または、特定の好適実施形態では3台)の物理デマルチプレクサを備え、それぞれが別個のソースから受信される最高32個のPIDを多重分離するために設定できる。さらに、好適実施形態は、例えば前述された論理デマルチプレクサデバイスを使用して、ある特定のソースから複数のサービスを同時に多重分離するために各物理デマルチプレクサを使用することができる。
複数のサービスの記録
前記に示されたように、好適実施形態は、複数のサービスを同時に記録することができる。
制御ワードデバイス
既知のシステムでは、制御ワードはカード読取装置内に収容されている条件付きアクセススマートカードによってECMから抽出される。本発明の実施形態では、制御ワードはスマートカードによってECMから抽出され続けるが、条件付きアクセスデータの追加処理はアーキテクチャのさらに高レベルで処理される。
・デスクランブル動作にデスクランブラチャンネルを割り当てる
・実行されるデスクランブル動作のタイプを選択する(例えば、DVD CS、DES及びトリプルDES)
・制御鍵をデスクランブラに渡す
・必要時、制御鍵をデスクランブラチャンネルから書き出す(flushing)、及び
・それがもう要求されていないときにはチャンネルを閉じる
さらに、CWデバイスは、デスクランブラの機能に基づき任意の時点で割り当てることができるデスクランブラチャンネルの最大数を求め、それは、デスクランブル動作に対する要求を処理できない場合にCAカーネルに知らせる。
複数のチューナ
好適実施形態での2台または3台以上のチューナの提供は、従来の技術によるシステムにおける条件付きアクセスのための準備の簡略なレビューの後に後述される。

を有する受信装置であって、
前記ソフトウエアは、チューナ用ソフトウエアデバイス及び複数の論理装置を含み、
前記チューナ用ソフトウエアデバイスは、放送センタから受信した信号のうち特定のチャネルに同調することを、前記チューナに実行させるソフトウエアデバイスであり、
前記複数の論理装置の各々は、
前記特定のチャネルのトランスポートストリームから視聴覚データのパケットを抽出することを、前記デマルチプレクサに実行させるソフトウエアデバイスを有し、
前記複数の論理装置に属する第1の論理装置は、
抽出された前記パケットを前記デコード出力装置に転送することを、前記デマルチプレクサに実行させ、前記デコード出力装置により前記視聴覚データが再生されるようにするソフトウエアデバイスを少なくとも有し、
前記複数の論理装置に属する第2の論理装置は、
