- the vehicle interior surface of the vehicle exterior glass plate is defined as a second surface
- the vehicle exterior surface of the vehicle interior glass plate is defined as a third surface

- the shielding layer 20 is preferably formed on the second surface and/or the fourth surface, and more preferably formed on the fourth surface.
- the shielding layer 20 is a layer that has the function of blocking light, particularly ultraviolet and/or visible light.
- the area where the shielding layer 20 is provided has reduced transparency, i.e., low light transmittance.
- the shielding layer 20 can, for example, prevent the sealant (adhesive) that attaches and holds the vehicle window glass 10 to the vehicle body from deteriorating due to ultraviolet light. It can also make the sealant, parts 30 such as brackets, equipment supported by the parts 30, and conductive layers such as antennas less visible from outside the vehicle.
- the shielding layer 20 may be a dark color such as black, gray, or dark brown.
- the shielding layer 20 may have a color having a lightness index L * value of 0 or more and 30 or less in the CIE 1976 (L * a * b * ) color space (CIELAB) standardized by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). This allows the shielding layer 20 to fully exhibit its light-blocking function.
- the light transmittance of the shielding layer 20 is preferably 30% or less, more preferably 20% or less, even more preferably 10% or less, even more preferably 3% or less, particularly preferably 1% or less, and may be 0.3% or less.
- the light transmittance of the cured inkjet ink film described below is also preferably 30% or less, more preferably 20% or less, even more preferably 10% or less, even more preferably 3% or less, particularly preferably 1% or less, and may be 0.3% or less.
- the light transmittance referred to in this specification may be the light transmittance of ultraviolet light and/or visible light, which can be measured using, for example, a spectrophotometer, and may preferably be the total light transmittance of visible light.
- the shielding layer 20 includes a cured inkjet ink film, and is preferably made of a cured inkjet ink film.
- a "cured inkjet ink film” is a film formed by curing an inkjet ink film formed on the vehicle window glass 10 by inkjet printing. Curing the inkjet ink film may include drying and/or baking the inkjet ink film.
- the ink used in inkjet printing i.e., inkjet ink (described in detail later) has a low viscosity, so even if only a small amount of ink is applied to the vehicle window glass 10, it spreads immediately in the surface direction after application to form a thin, continuous ink film.
- Continuous means that the vehicle window glass 10 is completely covered over the entire area where the shielding layer 20 is provided.
- a continuous film is what is known as a solid film.
- a continuous inkjet ink cured film can be obtained by curing the continuous inkjet ink film.
- the thickness of the inkjet ink cured film may preferably be 0.1 ⁇ m or more and 15 ⁇ m or less, and more preferably 1 ⁇ m or more and 15 ⁇ m or less.
- the inkjet ink cured film is thinner than films formed by conventional methods such as screen printing, so there is no unnatural appearance such as the shielding layer 20 appearing raised.
- the shielding layer 20 is formed inside the laminated glass, for example, even when the shielding layer 20 is formed on the second and/or third surfaces of the laminated glass, the difference in level at the boundary between the area where the shielding layer 20 is disposed and the area where the shielding layer 20 is not disposed is small, thereby reducing light scattering near the boundary.
- the continuous inkjet ink cured film described above is different from the discontinuous film formed by conventional screen printing, which consists of scattered, spaced-apart dots.
- a continuous film appears smooth and free of graininess, making it easier for the viewer to make a good impression and is preferable from a design perspective.
- Inkjet printing ejects minute ink droplets onto a printing surface from nozzles arranged at narrow, predetermined intervals in the width direction perpendicular to the printing direction. Because the volume of ejected ink droplets can be adjusted for each nozzle, the amount of ink deposited on the printing surface can be varied for each minute area. Therefore, by slightly varying the amount of ink ejected in the printing direction, it is possible to gradually change the light transmittance and/or film thickness of the inkjet ink cured film in small increments, i.e., with a small gradient, in the printing direction. Such changes in the light transmittance and/or film thickness of the inkjet ink cured film can appear virtually stepless to the naked eye.
- inkjet ink cured films formed using inkjet printing offer a wider range of adjustment for the light transmittance and/or film thickness of the shielding layer 20, enabling a variety of designs not possible with conventional methods.
- structures formed by inkjet printing have manufacturing advantages over conventional ink spray methods.
- ink spray method atomized ink is sprayed from a nozzle toward the surface to be printed, which means that the ink is prone to scattering, and it is difficult to control the range over which the ink spreads. This makes it difficult to print accurately, that is, without leaving any residual ink behind and without spilling over, in the target area where you want the ink to adhere. While it is possible to use masking or other methods to accurately print ink in the target area, this would significantly complicate the manufacturing process.
- the shielding layer 20, including the film obtained using inkjet printing in this embodiment can be formed using a process that is simpler than conventional techniques.
- Figure 2 shows an enlarged view of portion I in Figure 1.
- the shielding layer 20 may include a first portion 21 whose light transmittance gradually changes in one direction, and a second portion 22 whose light transmittance is uniform.
- the first portion 21 is also called the gradually changing light transmittance portion
- the second portion 22 is also called the uniform light transmittance portion.
- the first portion 21 forms the inner portion of the shielding layer 20, and the second portion 22 forms the outer portion of the shielding layer 20.
- the inner edge of the first portion 21 constitutes the inner edge of the shielding layer 20.
- the outer edge of the first portion 21 is in contact with the inner edge of the second portion 22. It is preferable that there is no gap between the first portion 21 and the second portion 22, that is, that the first portion 21 and the second portion 22 are formed continuously.
- the outer edge of the second portion 22 overlaps the edge of the vehicle window glass 10, but this overlap is not necessary; an area without a shielding layer may be formed outside the second portion 22.
- the transparency of the first portion 21 gradually improves toward the inside of the shielding layer 20 (in the direction away from the peripheral edge of the vehicle window glass 10), i.e., the light transmittance increases.
- Window glass is originally transparent and allows people to see the scenery outside the vehicle through the window glass, so when dark-colored materials come into people's field of vision, they tend to feel strange or uncomfortable.
- the shielding layer 20 in this embodiment reduces this strange or uncomfortable feeling.
- the gradual change in light transmittance in the inner portion of the shielding layer 20 also improves design.
- the shielding layer 20 comprises a cured inkjet ink film formed by inkjet printing, and the cured inkjet ink film includes a first portion 21 and a second portion 22.
- both the first portion 21 and the second portion 22 comprise cured inkjet ink film.
- the first portion 21 is a cured inkjet ink film, it can be a continuous film. That is, the first portion 21 is formed as a continuous film with a subtle or small gradient change in light transmittance. Such a continuous film is different from the discontinuous film obtained when conventional screen printing is used.
- Figure 3 shows a conventional shielding layer 20' formed using screen printing.
- the shielding layer 20' shown in Figure 3 comprises a uniform light transmittance portion 2' with uniform light transmittance and a gradually changing light transmittance portion 1' in which the light transmittance gradually changes in one direction.
- the gradually changing light transmittance portion 1' is formed from dot-like film portions spaced apart from each other.
- the light transmittance also changes in a direction perpendicular to the direction from the outside to the inside (hereinafter referred to as the outside-inside direction).
- the outside-inside direction a direction perpendicular to the direction from the outside to the inside
- the appearance of the gradually changing light transmittance portion 1' can appear grainy in both the outside-inside direction and the direction perpendicular to the outside-inside direction.
- the first portion 21 of the shielding layer 20 in this embodiment does not or can suppress changes in light transmittance in the direction perpendicular to the outside-inside direction, thereby suppressing the graininess described above and creating the impression that the light transmittance changes smoothly.
- the shielding layer 20 is obtained by baking the ink
- distortion may occur in the vehicle window glass 10 near the boundary between the area where the shielding layer 20 is disposed and the area where the shielding layer 20 is not disposed, i.e., near the inner edge of the shielding layer 20, due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between adjacent areas depending on whether the shielding layer 20 is present or not.
- the first portion 21 which is the inner part of the shielding layer 20
- the amount of ink attached gradually decreases toward the inside, and the thickness of the inkjet ink cured film gradually decreases, thereby suppressing the above-mentioned distortion.
- the thermal expansion coefficient also changes smoothly in the outward and inward directions in the first portion 21, further improving the distortion prevention effect.
- the slope of a graph (hereinafter also referred to as ( ⁇ logT/ ⁇ d)) with log T as the vertical axis and distance d (mm) along the surface direction as the horizontal axis, where T (%) is the light transmittance of the first portion 21, is 0.001/mm or more and 0.0225/mm or less.
- log represents common logarithm.
- the slope of the above graph may preferably be 0.002/mm or more and 0.0225/mm or less, and more preferably 0.005/mm or more and 0.0225/mm or less. In this way, in the first portion 21, log T changes slightly with a predetermined slope relative to distance d (mm) along the surface direction.
- the slope of the graph may be the slope ( ⁇ logT/ ⁇ d) in the direction from the outside to the inside of the vehicle window glass 10, or from the inside to the outside, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
- the slope ( ⁇ logT/ ⁇ d) in the plane direction may be a measured value preferably within a range of 5 mm or less, more preferably 1 mm or less.
- the thickness gradient in the surface direction of the first portion 21 is 0.0001 ⁇ m/mm or more and 0.15 ⁇ m/mm or less.
- the thickness gradient may preferably be 0.001 ⁇ m/mm or more and 0.15 ⁇ m/mm or less, and more preferably 0.002 ⁇ m/mm or more and 0.15 ⁇ m/mm or less.
- the thickness gradient is the rate of change in thickness ( ⁇ m) per mm along the surface direction.
- the thickness gradient may be the absolute value of the slope of a graph with thickness ( ⁇ m) on the vertical axis and distance d (mm) along the surface direction on the horizontal axis.
- the thickness gradient in the plane direction may be a thickness gradient from the outside to the inside of the vehicle window glass 10, or from the inside to the outside, as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
- the thickness gradient in the plane direction may be a measured value preferably within a range of 5 mm or less, more preferably 1 mm or less.
- the shielding layer 20 may also include a film obtained by means other than inkjet printing, but it is preferable that it be made of an inkjet ink cured film. In this case, it is particularly preferable that the first portion 21, in which the light transmittance gradually changes, be made of an inkjet ink cured film.

<遮蔽層>

無機インクに含まれる顔料の具体例としては、CuO・Cr2O3(ブラック)、CoO・Cr2O3(ブラック)、Fe2O3(ブラウン)、TiO2(ホワイト)、CoO・Al2O3(ブルー)、NiO・Cr2O3(グリーン)等が挙げられ、これらのうち、黒色(ブラック)の顔料を含有することが好ましい。
