Description
본 발명은 표시 장치에 관한 것이다.
정보화 사회가 발전함에 따라 영상을 표시하기 위한 표시 장치에 대한 요구가 다양한 형태로 증가하고 있다. 예를 들어, 표시 장치는 스마트폰, 디지털 카메라, 노트북 컴퓨터, 네비게이션, 및 스마트 텔레비전과 같이 다양한 전자기기에 적용되고 있다.
표시 장치는 액정 표시 장치(Liquid Crystal Display Device), 전계 방출 표시 장치(Field Emission Display Device), 발광 표시 장치(Light Emitting Display Device) 등과 같은 평판 표시 장치일 수 있다. 발광 표시 장치는 유기 발광 소자를 포함하는 유기 발광 표시 장치, 무기 반도체와 같은 무기 발광 소자를 포함하는 무기 발광 표시 장치, 및 초고형 발광 소자를 포함하는 초소형 발광 표시 장치를 포함한다.
유기 발광 소자는 대향하는 두 개의 전극 및 그 사이에 개재된 발광층을 포함할 수 있다. 발광층은 두 개의 전극으로부터 전자와 정공을 제공받아 재결합하여 엑시톤을 생성하고, 생성된 엑시톤이 여기 상태에서 기저 상태로 변화하며 광이 방출될 수 있다.
유기 발광 소자를 포함하는 유기 발광 표시 장치는 백라이트 유닛 등과 같은 광원이 불필요하기 때문에 소비 전력이 낮고 경량의 박형으로 구성할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 넓은 시야각, 높은 휘도와 콘트라스트 및 빠른 응답 속도 등의 고품위 특성을 가져 차세대 표시 장치로 주목을 받고 있다.
본 발명이 해결하고자 하는 과제는 외광의 반사율을 저감하고 블랙 색감을 개선할 수 있는 표시 장치를 제공하고자 하는 것이다.
본 발명의 과제들은 이상에서 언급한 과제로 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 기술적 과제들은 아래의 기재로부터 당업자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
상기 과제를 해결하기 위한 일 실시예에 따른 표시 장치는 서로 인접하는 표시 영역과 비표시 영역을 포함하는 기판, 상기 표시 영역 내에서 서로 인접하는 발광 영역과 비발광 영역을 구획하는 화소 정의막, 상기 화소 정의막과 중첩하며 상기 발광 영역에 배치된 화소 전극, 상기 화소 전극 상에 배치된 발광층, 상기 화소 정의막 및 상기 발광층 상에 배치된 공통 전극, 상기 공통 전극 상에 배치된 봉지층, 상기 봉지층 상에 배치된 반사 제어층, 및 상기 화소 정의막 및 상기 반사 제어층 사이에 배치된 돌출부들의 층에 의해 정의된 요철부를 포함하며, 상기 돌출부들은 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하고 상기 발광 영역과 비중첩할 수 있다.
상기 요철부는 상기 화소 정의막 상에 직접 배치될 수 있다.

전자 기기(1)는 표시 영역(DA)과 비표시 영역(NDA)을 포함할 수 있다. 표시 영역(DA)은 화면이 표시될 수 있는 영역이고, 비표시 영역(NDA)은 화면이 표시되지 않는 영역이다. 표시 영역(DA)은 활성 영역으로, 비표시 영역(NDA)은 비활성 영역으로도 지칭될 수 있다. 표시 영역(DA)은 대체로 전자 기기(1)의 중앙을 차지할 수 있다.

도 5를 참조하면, 표시 패널(100)은 표시층(DU), 터치 센싱층(TSU), 및 컬러 필터층(CFL)을 포함할 수 있다. 표시층(DU)은 기판(SUB), 박막 트랜지스터층(TFTL), 발광 소자층(EML), 및 봉지층(TFEL)을 포함할 수 있다.
기판(SUB)은 베이스 기판 또는 베이스 부재일 수 있다. 기판(SUB)은 벤딩(Bending), 폴딩(Folding), 롤링(Rolling) 등이 가능한 플렉서블(Flexible) 기판일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 기판(SUB)은 폴리이미드(PI)와 같은 고분자 수지를 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않는다. 다른 실시예에서 기판(SUB)은 유리 재질 또는 금속 재질을 포함할 수 있다.

발광 소자층(EML)은 박막 트랜지스터층(TFTL) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 발광 소자층(EML)은 화소 전극, 공통 전극, 및 발광층을 포함하여 광을 발광하는 복수의 발광 소자, 및 화소들을 정의하는 화소 정의막을 포함할 수 있다. 발광 소자층(EML)의 복수의 발광 소자는 표시 영역(DA)에 배치될 수 있다.
일 실시예에서, 발광층은 유기 물질을 포함하는 유기 발광층일 수 있다. 발광층은 정공 수송층(Hole Transporting Layer), 유기 발광층(Organic Light Emitting Layer), 및 전자 수송층(Electron Transporting Layer)을 포함할 수 있다. 화소 전극이 박막 트랜지스터층(TFTL)의 박막 트랜지스터를 통해 전압을 수신하고, 공통 전극이 캐소드 전압을 수신하면, 정공과 전자가 각각 정공 수송층과 전자 수송층을 통해 유기 발광층으로 이동될 수 있고, 유기 발광층에서 서로 결합하여 발광할 수 있다.

봉지층(TFEL)은 발광 소자층(EML)의 상면과 측면을 덮을 수 있고, 발광 소자층(EML)을 보호할 수 있다. 봉지층(TFEL)은 발광 소자층(EML)을 봉지하기 위한 적어도 하나의 무기막과 적어도 하나의 유기막을 포함할 수 있다.

복수의 전원 라인(VL)은 표시 구동부(200)로부터 수신된 전원 전압을 복수의 화소(PX)에 공급할 수 있다. 여기에서, 전원 전압은 구동 전압, 초기화 전압, 기준 전압, 및 저전위 전압 중 적어도 하나일 수 있다. 복수의 전원 라인(VL)은 제2 방향(DR2)으로 연장될 수 있고, 제1 방향(DR1)으로 서로 이격될 수 있다.
비표시 영역(NDA)은 표시 영역(DA)을 둘러쌀 수 있다. 비표시 영역(NDA)에는 게이트 구동부(210), 팬 아웃 라인들(FOL), 및 게이트 제어 라인들(GCL)들이 배치될 수 있다. 게이트 구동부(210)는 게이트 제어 신호를 기초로 복수의 게이트 신호를 생성할 수 있고, 복수의 게이트 신호를 설정된 순서에 따라 복수의 게이트 라인(GL)에 순차적으로 공급할 수 있다.
팬 아웃 라인들(FOL)은 표시 구동부(200)로부터 표시 영역(DA)까지 연장될 수 있다. 팬 아웃 라인들(FOL)은 표시 구동부(200)로부터 수신된 데이터 전압을 복수의 데이터 라인(DL)에 공급할 수 있다.
게이트 제어 라인(GCL)은 표시 구동부(200)로부터 게이트 구동부(210)까지 연장될 수 있다. 게이트 제어 라인(GCL)은 표시 구동부(200)로부터 수신된 게이트 제어 신호를 게이트 구동부(210)에 공급할 수 있다.
서브 영역(SBA)은 표시 구동부(200), 패드 영역(PA), 제1 및 제2 터치 패드 영역(TPA1, TPA2)을 포함할 수 있다.
표시 구동부(200)는 팬 아웃 라인들(FOL)에 표시 패널(100)을 구동하기 위한 신호들과 전압들을 출력할 수 있다. 표시 구동부(200)는 팬 아웃 라인들(FOL)을 통해 데이터 전압을 데이터 라인(DL)에 공급할 수 있다. 데이터 전압은 복수의 화소(PX)에 공급될 수 있고, 복수의 화소(PX)의 휘도를 제어할 수 있다. 표시 구동부(200)는 게이트 제어 라인(GCL)을 통해 게이트 제어 신호를 게이트 구동부(210)에 공급할 수 있다.
패드 영역(PA), 제1 터치 패드 영역(TPA1), 및 제2 터치 패드 영역(TPA2)은 서브 영역(SBA)의 가장자리에 배치될 수 있다. 회로 보드(300)는 패드 영역(PA), 제1 터치 패드 영역(TPA1), 및 제2 터치 패드 영역(TPA2)에서 이방성 도전 필름 또는 SAP(Self Assembly Anisotropic Conductive Paste) 등과 같은 소재를 이용하여 표시 패널(100)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 제1 터치 패드 영역(TPA1)은 제1 터치 패드부(TP1)를 포함하고, 제2 터치 패드 영역(TPA2)은 제2 터치 패드부(TP2)를 포함하여, 회로 보드(300)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
패드 영역(PA)은 복수의 표시 패드부(DP)를 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 표시 패드부(DP)는 회로 보드(300)를 통해 그래픽 시스템에 접속될 수 있다. 복수의 표시 패드부(DP)는 회로 보드(300)와 접속되어 디지털 비디오 데이터를 수신할 수 있고, 디지털 비디오 데이터를 표시 구동부(200)에 공급할 수 있다.

도 7을 참조하면, 터치 센싱층(TSU)은 사용자의 터치를 감지하는 터치 센서 영역(TSA), 및 터치 센서 영역(TSA)의 주변에 배치되는 터치 주변 영역(TOA)을 포함할 수 있다. 터치 센서 영역(TSA)은 표시 장치(10)의 표시 영역(DA)에 배치될 수 있고, 터치 주변 영역(TOA)은 표시 장치(10)의 비표시 영역(NDA)에 배치될 수 있다.
터치 센서 영역(TSA)은 복수의 터치 전극(SEN) 및 복수의 더미 전극(DME)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 터치 전극(SEN)은 물체 또는 사람의 터치를 감지하기 위해 상호 정전 용량 또는 자기 정전 용량을 형성할 수 있다. 복수의 터치 전극(SEN)은 복수의 구동 전극(TE), 복수의 감지 전극(RE) 및 브릿지 전극(CE)을 포함할 수 있다.
복수의 구동 전극(TE)은 제1 방향(DR1) 및 제2 방향(DR2)으로 배열될 수 있다. 복수의 구동 전극(TE)은 제1 방향(DR1) 및 제2 방향(DR2)으로 서로 이격될 수 있다. 제2 방향(DR2)으로 인접한 구동 전극(TE)들은 브릿지 전극(CE)을 통해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.

브릿지 전극(CE)은 적어도 한 번 절곡될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 브릿지 전극(CE)은 꺾쇠 형태(“<” 또는 “>”)를 가질 수 있으나, 브릿지 전극(CE)의 평면 형태는 이에 한정되지 않는다. 제2 방향(DR2)으로 서로 인접한 구동 전극들(TE)은 복수의 브릿지 전극(CE)에 의해 연결될 수 있고, 브릿지 전극들(CE) 중 어느 하나가 단선되더라도 구동 전극들(TE)은 나머지 브릿지 전극(CE)을 통해 안정적으로 연결될 수 있다. 서로 인접한 구동 전극들(TE)은 두 개의 브릿지 전극(CE)에 의해 연결될 수 있으나, 브릿지 전극들(CE)의 개수는 이에 한정되지 않는다.
브릿지 전극(CE)은 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 및 복수의 감지 전극(RE)과 서로 다른 층에 배치될 수 있다. 동일한 층에 배치되는 것으로서, 구성들이 동일한 공정으로 형성 및/또는 동일한 물질을 포함할 수 있으며, 구성들이 동일한 물질 층의 각 부분일 수 있어 서로 동일한 층에 있는 것으로 간주될 수 있고, 구성들이 동일한 하층 또는 상층과 계면을 형성하여 동일한 층에 배치될 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않는다.
제1 방향(DR1)으로 서로 인접한 감지 전극들(RE)은 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 또는 복수의 감지 전극(RE)과 같은 층에 배치된 연결부를 통해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있고, 제2 방향(DR2)으로 인접한 구동 전극들(TE)은 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 또는 복수의 감지 전극(RE)과 서로 다른 층에 배치된 브릿지 전극(CE)을 통해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 브릿지 전극(CE)이 복수의 감지 전극(RE)과 Z축 방향으로 서로 중첩되더라도, 복수의 구동 전극(TE)과 복수의 감지 전극(RE)은 서로 절연될 수 있다. 상호 정전 용량은 구동 전극(TE)과 감지 전극(RE) 사이에 형성될 수 있다.
복수의 감지 전극(RE)은 제1 방향(DR1)으로 연장되고 제2 방향(DR2)으로 서로 이격될 수 있다. 복수의 감지 전극(RE)은 제1 방향(DR1) 및 제2 방향(DR2)으로 배열될 수 있고, 제1 방향(DR1)으로 인접한 감지 전극들(RE)은 연결부를 통해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.

복수의 더미 전극(DME) 각각은 구동 전극(TE) 또는 감지 전극(RE)에 의해 둘러싸일 수 있다. 복수의 더미 전극(DME) 각각은 구동 전극(TE) 또는 감지 전극(RE)과 이격되어 절연될 수 있다. 따라서, 더미 전극(DME)은 전기적으로 플로팅될 수 있다. 더미 전극(DME)은 터치 전극(SEN)으로부터 전기적으로 절연된 섬 형상을 갖는 개별적인 패턴일 수 있다.

제2 터치 패드 영역(TPA2)은 패드 영역(PA)의 타측에 배치될 수 있고, 복수의 제2 터치 패드부(TP2)를 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 제2 터치 패드부(TP2)는 회로 보드(300) 상에 배치된 터치 구동부(400)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 터치 구동부(400)는 복수의 제2 터치 패드부(TP2)에 접속된 복수의 감지 라인(RL)을 통해 터치 센싱 신호를 수신할 수 있고, 구동 전극(TE)과 감지 전극(RE) 간의 상호 정전 용량 변화를 센싱할 수 있다.
다른 실시예에서, 터치 구동부(400)는 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 및 복수의 감지 전극(RE) 각각에 터치 구동 신호를 공급할 수 있고, 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 및 복수의 감지 전극(RE) 각각으로부터 터치 센싱 신호를 수신할 수 있다. 터치 구동부(400)는 터치 센싱 신호를 기초로 복수의 구동 전극(TE) 및 복수의 감지 전극(RE) 각각의 전하 변화량을 센싱할 수 있다.
도 7에서는 터치 센싱층(TSU)의 복수의 터치 전극(SEN)의 구조가 다이아몬드 형상으로 이루어져 제1 및 제2 방향(DR1, DR2)으로 연결된 것으로 도시하였지만, 이에 제한되지 않으며, 복수의 터치 전극(SEN)은 메쉬(mesh) 형상으로 이루어질 수 있다.

발광 소자층(EML)은 박막 트랜지스터층(TFTL) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 발광 소자층(EML)은 발광 소자(ED) 및 화소 정의막(PDL)을 포함할 수 있다. 발광 소자(ED)는 화소 전극(AE), 발광층(EL), 및 공통 전극(CO)을 포함할 수 있다.
화소 전극(AE)은 제2 보호층(PAS2) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 화소 전극(AE)은 화소 정의막(PDL)의 개구부(OPE1, OPE2, OPE3) 중 어느 하나와 중첩하도록 배치될 수 있다. 화소 전극(AE)은 제1 및 제2 연결 전극(CNE1, CNE2)을 통해 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)의 드레인 전극(DE)에 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 화소 전극(AE)은 해당 화소 개구부에서 화소 정의막(PDL)의 외부로 노출된 노출 부분을 포함할 수 있다.
발광층(EL)은 화소 전극(AE) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 발광층(EL)은 유기 물질로 이루어진 유기 발광층일 수 있으나, 이에 한정되지 않는다. 발광층(EL)이 유기 발광층에 해당하는 경우, 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)가 발광 소자(ED)의 화소 전극(AE)에 소정의 전압을 인가하고, 발광 소자(ED)의 공통 전극(CO)이 공통 전압 또는 캐소드 전압을 수신하면, 정공과 전자 각각이 정공 수송층과 전자 수송층을 통해 발광층(EL)으로 이동할 수 있고, 정공과 전자가 발광층(EL)에서 서로 결합하여 광을 방출할 수 있다.
공통 전극(CO)은 발광층(EL) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 공통 전극(CO)은 복수의 화소 별로 구분되지 않고 전체 화소에 공통되는 전극 형태로 구현될 수 있다. 공통 전극(CO)은 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)에서 발광층(EL) 상에 배치될 수 있고, 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)을 제외한 영역에서 화소 정의막(PDL) 상에 배치될 수 있다.
공통 전극(CO)은 공통 전압 또는 저전위 전압을 수신할 수 있다. 화소 전극(AE)이 데이터 전압에 대응되는 전압을 수신하고 공통 전극(CO)이 저전위 전압을 수신하면, 전위 차가 화소 전극(AE)과 공통 전극(CO) 사이에 형성됨으로써, 발광층(EL)이 광을 방출할 수 있다.

화소 정의막(PDL) 상에 스페이서(SPC)가 배치될 수 있다. 스페이서(SPC)는 발광층(EL)의 증착 공정에서 마스크가 접촉하여 하부 층들이 손상되는 것을 방지하는 기능을 할 수 있다. 스페이서(SPC)는 화소 정의막(PDL) 상에 직접 배치되며, 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 스페이서(SPC)는 유기 물질을 포함하여 1㎛ 이상의 두꺼운 두께로 형성될 수 있다.
한편, 발광 소자층(EML)은 요철부(UEP)를 포함할 수 있다. 요철부(UEP)는 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 포함하며, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)들 사이에 배치된 함몰부를 포함할 수 있다. 요철부(UEP)는 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 층에 의해 정의될 수 있다. 요철부(UEP)는 화소 정의막(PDL)과 공통 전극(CO) 사이에 배치되며, 화소 정의막(PDL)의 상면에 접촉하여 직접 배치될 수 있다. 요철부(UEP)는 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩하여 배치되며, 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3) 또는 제1 내지 제3 개구부(OPE1, OPE2, OPE3)와 비중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 요철부(UEP) 중 일부는 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다.
요철부(UEP)는 화소 정의막(PDL)의 표면으로부터 제3 방향(DR3)으로 돌출된 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 화소 정의막(PDL)의 표면으로부터 컬러 필터층(CFL)을 향하면서 점진적으로 면적이 감소하는 형상으로 이루어질 수 있다. 도 10에 도시된 돌출부(PRJ)의 폭은 두께 방향을 따라 감소하는 돌출부(PRJ)의 평면 면적을 나타낸다. 일 실시예에서, 각 돌출부(PRJ)는 평면상 평면 면적을 가지고, 평면 면적은 화소 정의막(PDL)으로부터 반사 제어층으로 향하는 방향으로 감소한다.
복수의 돌출부(PRJ) 내에서는, 물질이 동일하여 굴절률이 일정한 경우에도 크기(또는 면적)가 줄어들면 굴절률이 작아지는 것으로 인식되어 굴절률이 점진적으로 작아지는 것으로 인식된다. 예를 들어, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 상면에 입사된 광(LEL)은 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 투과하면서 굴절률이 점진적으로 작아지는 것으로 인식되어, 프레넬(Fresnel) 반사가 일어나지 않는다. 이에 따라, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)로 입사된 광(LEL)은 반사되지 않고 그대로 투과하게 된다. 예시적인 실시예에서, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 포함하는 요철부(UEP)는 모스 아이(moth eye) 미세 구조일 수 있다.
복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 형상은 화소 정의막(PDL)의 표면으로부터 컬러 필터층(CFL)을 향하면서 점진적으로 면적이 줄어드는 형상이라면 특별히 한정되지 않는다. 예를 들어, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 도 10에 도시된 것처럼, 육면체 형상일 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지 않으며, 반구형, 원뿔, 다각뿔 등의 형상으로 이루어질 수 있다.
복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 가시광의 반사를 억제하기 위해 0.5 내지 2㎛의 피치(P)로 배치될 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 피치(P)가 상기 범위로 이루어지면, 반사광의 색감 차이가 작아지고 외부광의 반사를 방지할 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 폭은 0.5 내지 2㎛로 이루어질 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 폭이 상기 범위로 이루어지면, 반사광의 색감 차이가 작아지고 외부광의 반사를 방지할 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 두께는 0.5 내지 1㎛로 이루어질 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 두께가 상기 범위로 이루어지면, 반사광의 색감 차이가 커지는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 피치(P)와 폭(W)이 제1 방향(DR1)을 따르는 것으로 도 12에 나타나 있지만, 제2 방향(DR2)과 같은 다른 평면 방향을 따라 정의될 수 있음으로 이해해야 할 것이다.
몇몇 실시예에서, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 두께는 스페이서(SPC)의 두께보다 1㎛ 이상 작을 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)의 두께가 스페이서(SPC)의 두께보다 1㎛ 이상 작으면, 발광층(EL)의 증착 공정에서 마스크에 의해 돌출부(PRJ)가 손상되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 일 실시예에서, 스페이서(SPC)는 돌출부(PRJ)와 동일 평면 상에 배치되고, 표시 장치(10)의 두께 방향을 따르는 두께를 가질 수 있다. 여기서, 각 돌출부(PRJ)의 두께는 스페이서(SPC)의 두께보다 작다.
제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)는 발광 소자(ED)로부터 방출되는 광과, 외부로부터 입사된 광이 반사되어 출사되는 영역일 수 있다. 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)는 각각 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩된 영역에서, 외부로부터 입사된 광이 공통 전극(CO)에 의해 반사될 수 있다. 공통 전극(CO)에서 반사된 반사광은 다른 반사광과 간섭되고 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)를 통과하면서 특정 색을 나타낼 수 있다. 이에 따라, 표시 장치(10)의 블랙 색감이 틀어질 수 있다. 본 실시예에서는, 후술하는 차광 패턴(BM)과 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3) 사이에 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 배치함으로써, 외부로부터 입사된 광이 반사되는 것을 저감하고 블랙 색감을 개선할 수 있다.
한편, 요철부(UEP)는 화소 정의막(PDL)의 경사면(PDC)에 더 연장되어 배치될 수 있다.
도 13을 참조하면, 화소 정의막(PDL)은 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)을 정의하는 경사면(PDC)을 포함할 수 있다. 화소 정의막(PDL)의 경사면(PDC)은 화소 전극(AE)과 화소 정의막(PDL)이 만나는 부분부터 제2 보호층(PAS2)의 상면과 나란한 부분 사이의 영역일 수 있다. 화소 정의막(PDL)의 경사면(PDC)은 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)과 비중첩하고, 비발광 영역(NEA) 및 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩할 수 있다.
화소 정의막(PDL)의 경사면(PDC)은 테이퍼 각이 작아질수록 면적이 커져 외부 광의 반사가 많이 발생할 수 있다. 본 실시예에서는 화소 정의막(PDL)의 경사면(PDC)에도 요철부(UEP)의 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 배치함으로써, 외부 광의 반사를 더욱 저감할 수 있다.
다른 예시적인 실시예에서, 요철부(UEP)는 비발광 영역(NEA) 및 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩하는 영역에 연장되어 배치될 수 있다.
도 14 및 도 15를 참조하면, 요철부(UEP)는 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)과 비중첩하고, 비발광 영역(NEA) 및 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 비발광 영역(NEA) 중 차광 패턴(BM)과 비중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 즉, 표시 장치(10)는 차광층(BM+OPT)의 출광부와 비발광 영역이 서로 중첩하는 중첩 영역을 포함할 수 있고, 요철부(UEP)는 중첩 영역에서 차광 패턴(BM)과 비중첩할 수 있다.
비발광 영역(NEA) 중 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩하는 영역은 외부 광의 반사에 취약할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 비발광 영역(NEA) 중 차광 패턴(BM)과 중첩하는 영역은 차광 패턴(BM)에 의해 외부 광 또는 반사광이 차단 또는 흡수될 수 있다. 비발광 영역(NEA) 중 차광 패턴(BM)과 비중첩하는 영역은 반사광이 상부로 출사되어 외부 광의 반사에 취약할 수 있다.
본 실시예에서는 비발광 영역(NEA) 중 차광 패턴(BM)과 비중첩하는 영역 또는 비발광 영역(NEA)과 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)가 중첩하는 영역에 요철부(UEP)를 배치함으로써, 외부로부터 입사된 광의 반사을 저감하고, 블랙 색감을 더욱 개선할 수 있다.
상술한 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 별도의 공정으로 제조되거나, 스페이서(SPC)와 함께 제조될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 유기물을 코팅한 후 하프톤 마스크를 이용하여 스페이서(SPC)와 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 동시에 패터닝하여 제조할 수 있다. 즉, 스페이서(SPC)와 돌출부(PRJ)는 동일한 물질 층의 각 패턴으로서 서로 동일한 층에 배치될 수 있다.
또 다른 예시적인 실시예에서, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)가 화소 정의막(PDL)과 일체로 이루어질 수 있다.
도 16 및 도 17을 참조하면, 화소 정의막(PDL)은 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 화소 정의막(PDL)과 일체로 이루어질 수 있다. 예를 들어, 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)는 화소 정의막(PDL)을 형성하기 위한 유기 물질을 코팅한 후 하프톤 마스크를 이용하여 동시에 형성할 수 있다. 즉, 돌출부(PRJ)와 화소 정의막(PDL)은 단일의 일체형일 수 있다. 화소 정의막(PDL)은 돌출부(PRJ)들의 층을 정의할 수 있다.
본 실시예에서는 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 형성하기 위한 별도의 공정을 생략할 수 있는 이점이 있다.
한편 다시 도 10을 참조하면, 봉지층(TFEL)은 공통 전극(CO) 상에 배치되어, 복수의 발광 소자(ED)를 덮을 수 있다. 봉지층(TFEL)은 적어도 하나의 무기막을 포함하여, 발광 소자층(EML)에 산소 또는 수분이 침투되는 것을 방지할 수 있다. 봉지층(TFEL)은 적어도 하나의 유기막을 포함하여 먼지와 같은 이물질로부터 발광 소자층(EML)을 보호할 수 있다.
봉지층(TFEL)은 제1 봉지층(TFE1), 제2 봉지층(TFE2) 및 제3 봉지층(TFE3)을 포함할 수 있다. 제1 봉지층(TFE1)과 제3 봉지층(TFE3)은 무기 봉지층이고, 이들 사이에 배치된 제2 봉지층(TFE2)은 유기 봉지층일 수 있다.
제1 봉지층(TFE1)과 제3 봉지층(TFE3)은 각각 하나 이상의 무기 절연물질을 포함할 수 있다. 무기 절연물질은 알루미늄옥사이드, 티타늄옥사이드, 탄탈륨옥사이드, 하프늄옥사이드, 징크옥사이드, 실리콘옥사이드, 실리콘나이트라이드, 및/또는 실리콘옥시나이트라이드를 포함할 수 있다.
제2 봉지층(TFE2)은 유기 절연물질을 포함할 수 있다. 유기 절연물질은 예를 들어, 아크릴계 수지, 에폭시계 수지, 폴리이미드 및 폴리에틸렌 등을 포함할 수 있다. 제2 봉지층(TFE2)은 모노머를 경화하거나, 폴리머를 도포하여 형성할 수 있다.
터치 센싱층(TSU)은 봉지층(TFEL) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 터치 센싱층(TSU)은 터치 절연층(TNS), 구동 전극(TE) 및 브릿지 전극(CE)을 포함할 수 있다. 도시하지 않았지만 터치 센싱층(TSU)은 도 7에 도시된 감지 전극(RE)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
구동 전극(TE)은 제3 봉지층(TFE3) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 구동 전극(TE)은 몰리브덴(Mo), 티타늄(Ti), 구리(Cu), 알루미늄(Al), ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)의 단일층으로 형성되거나, 알루미늄과 티타늄의 적층 구조(Ti/Al/Ti), 알루미늄과 ITO의 적층 구조(ITO/Al/ITO), APC 합금, 및 APC 합금과 ITO의 적층 구조(ITO/APC/ITO)로 형성될 수 있다. 구동 전극(TE)은 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)과 비중첩하여 배치될 수 있다.
터치 절연층(TNS)은 구동 전극(TE) 및 제3 봉지층(TFE3) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 터치 절연층(TNS)은 유기막 또는 무기막을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어 터치 절연층(TNS)은 아크릴계 수지, 에폭시계 수지, 폴리이미드, 폴리에틸렌 등의 유기막을 포함하거나, 실리콘 질화물, 실리콘 산화물, 실리콘 질산화물 등의 무기막을 포함할 수 있다.
브릿지 전극(CE)은 터치 절연층(TNS) 상에 배치되며, 터치 절연층(TNS)을 관통하는 컨택홀을 통해 구동 전극(TE)에 연결될 수 있다. 브릿지 전극(CE)은 구동 전극(TE)에서 예시된 물질로 이루어질 수 있다.
터치 센싱층(TSU)의 구동 전극(TE) 및 브릿지 전극(CE)은 복수의 돌출부(PRJ) 및 차광 패턴(BM)과 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 따라서, 구동 전극(TE) 및 브릿지 전극(CE)은 차광 패턴(BM)에 의해 커버됨으로써 외부에서 시인되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
터치 센싱층(TSU) 상에 컬러 필터층(CFL)이 배치될 수 있다. 컬러 필터층(CFL)은 외광의 반사를 제어하는 반사 제어층일 수 있다. 컬러 필터층(CFL)은 복수의 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)와 차광 패턴(BM)을 포함할 수 있다. 컬러 필터들 각각은 특정 파장의 광을 선택적으로 투과시키고, 다른 파장의 광을 차단하거나 흡수할 수 있다. 컬러 필터층(CFL)은 표시 장치(10)의 외부에서 유입되는 광의 일부를 흡수하여 외광에 의한 반사광을 저감시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 컬러 필터층(CFL)은 외광 반사에 의한 색의 왜곡을 방지할 수 있다.
차광 패턴(BM)은 터치 센싱층(TSU)의 터치 절연층(TNS) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 차광 패턴(BM)은 구동 전극(TE)의 도전성 라인을 커버하도록 배치되되, 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3)과 중첩하도록 배치된 복수의 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)들을 구획할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 출광부(OPT1)는 제1 발광 영역(EA1) 또는 제1 개구부(OPE1)와 중첩하도록 배치될 수 있다. 제2 출광부(OPT2)는 제2 발광 영역(EA2) 또는 제2 개구부(OPE2)와 중첩하도록 배치되고, 제3 출광부(OPT3)는 제3 발광 영역(EA3) 또는 제3 개구부(OPE3)와 중첩하도록 배치될 수 있다. 도면에 도시하지 않았으나, 제4 출광부(OPT4)는 제4 발광 영역(EA4) 또는 제4 개구부(OPE4)와 중첩하도록 배치될 수 있다.
각 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3, OPT4)들의 면적 또는 크기는 화소 정의막(PDL)의 개구부(OPE1, OPE2, OPE3, OPE4)들의 면적 또는 크기보다 클 수 있다. 차광 패턴(BM)의 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3, OPT4)들이 화소 정의막(PDL)의 개구부(OPE1, OPE2, OPE3, OPE4)들보다 크게 형성됨에 따라, 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3, EA4)에서 방출된 광들이 표시 장치(10)의 정면뿐만 아니라 측면에서도 사용자에게 시인될 수 있다.
차광 패턴(BM)은 광 흡수 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 차광 패턴(BM)은 무기 흑색 안료 또는 유기 흑색 안료를 포함할 수 있다. 무기 흑색 안료는 카본 블랙(Carbon Black)일 수 있고, 유기 흑색 안료는 락탐 블랙(Lactam Black), 페릴렌 블랙(Perylene Black), 및 아닐린 블랙(Aniline Black) 중 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 한정되지 않는다. 차광 패턴(BM)은 제1 내지 제4 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3, EA4) 사이에 가시광이 침범하여 혼색되는 것을 방지함으로써, 표시 장치(10)의 색 재현율을 향상시킬 수 있다.
다른 예시적인 실시예에서, 차광 패턴(BM)은 복수의 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)가 중첩된 영역으로 정의될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 후술하는 제1 컬러 필터(CF1), 제2 컬러 필터(CF2) 및 제3 컬러 필터(CF3)가 제3 방향(DR3)으로 중첩된 영역이 차광 패턴(BM)으로 정의될 수 있다. 이 경우, 제1 컬러 필터(CF1), 제2 컬러 필터(CF2) 및 제3 컬러 필터(CF3)가 각각 적색, 녹색, 및 청색 광을 제외한 나머지 광을 차단함으로써 최종적으로 광을 차단할 수 있다.
컬러 필터층(CFL)의 복수의 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)는 차광 패턴(BM) 및 터치 절연층(TNS) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 복수의 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)는 제1 컬러 필터(CF1), 제2 컬러 필터(CF2) 및 제3 컬러 필터(CF3)를 포함할 수 있다.
제1 컬러 필터(CF1)는 제1 출광부(OPT1) 및 제1 발광 영역(EA1)과 중첩하여 배치될 수 있으며, 일부는 비발광 영역(NEA)에 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 제1 컬러 필터(CF1)는 상기 제1 색의 광(예컨대, 적색)을 선택적으로 투과시키고 상기 제2 색의 광(예컨대, 청색) 및 상기 제3 색의 광(예컨대, 녹색)을 차단하거나 흡수할 수 있다. 예시적으로 제1 컬러 필터(CF1)는 적색 컬러 필터일 수 있으며, 적색의 색재(red colorant)를 포함할 수 있으나 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
제2 컬러 필터(CF2)는 제2 출광부(OPT2) 및 제2 발광 영역(EA2)과 중첩하여 배치될 수 있으며, 일부는 비발광 영역(NEA)에 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 제2 컬러 필터(CF2)는 상기 제2 색의 광(예컨대, 청색)을 선택적으로 투과시키고 상기 제3 색의 광(예컨대, 녹색) 및 상기 제1 색의 광(예컨대, 적색)을 차단하거나 흡수할 수 있다. 예시적으로 제2 컬러 필터(CF2)는 청색 컬러 필터일 수 있으며, 청색의 색재(Green colorant)를 포함할 수 있으나 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.

오버코트층(OC)은 컬러 필터층(CFL) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 오버코트층(OC)은 컬러 필터층(CFL)을 덮어 하부의 단차를 평탄화할 수 있다. 오버코트층(OC)은 가시광 대역의 색을 가지고 있지 않는 무색의 투광성 층일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 오버코트층(OC)은 아크릴 계열의 수지 또는 폴리이미드와 같은 무색의 투광성 유기물을 포함할 수 있다.
몇몇 실시예에서, 오버코트층(OC)은 특정 파장대의 광을 선택적으로 흡수할 수 있는 염료를 더 포함할 수 있다. 오버코트층(OC)은 외부로부터 입사되는 광의 일부 파장대의 광을 흡수하여 외광의 반사율을 저감할 수 있다.

제1 요철부(UEP1)의 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)는 제1 그루브(GR1) 내에 배치될 수 있으며, 제1 그루브(GR1)의 바닥면으로부터 제3 방향(DR3)으로 돌출된 미세 요철 형상일 수 있다. 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)는 터치 절연층(TNS)과 동일한 물질을 포함하며 일체로 이루어질 수 있다. 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)는 상술한 실시예와 동일하게 외부광이 입사하는 경우, 미세 요철로 인해 굴절률이 점진적으로 작아지는 것으로 인식되어 프레넬 반사가 일어나지 않는다. 이에 따라, 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)로 입사된 광은 반사되지 않고 그대로 투과하게 된다. 예시적인 실시예에서, 제1 요철부(UEP1)는 모스 아이 미세 구조일 수 있다.
복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)는 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩하여 배치되고 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3) 또는 제1 내지 제3 개구부(OPE1, OPE2, OPE3)와 비중첩하여 배치될 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)는 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3)와 중첩하여 배치될 수 있다.

상술한 바와 같이, 제1 내지 제3 출광부(OPT1, OPT2, OPT3) 중 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩된 영역에서, 외부로부터 입사된 광이 공통 전극(CO)에 의해 반사될 수 있다. 본 실시예에서는, 차광 패턴(BM)과 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3) 사이에서 터치 절연층(TNS)에 제1 그루브(GR1) 및 제1 그루브(GR1) 내에 배치된 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)를 포함하는 제1 요철부(UEP1)를 배치함으로써, 외부로부터 입사된 광의 반사를 저감할 수 있다.
한편, 터치 절연층(TNS) 상에 배치된 복수의 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)는 제2 그루브(GR2) 및 제2 그루브(GR2) 내에 배치된 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)를 포함하는 제2 요철부(UEP2)를 포함할 수 있다.

복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 피치(P2)는 0.5 내지 2㎛일 수 있으며, 폭(W2)은 0.5 내지 2㎛로 이루어질 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 높이(TT2)는 0.5 내지 1㎛로 이루어질 수 있다. 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 피치(P2), 폭(W2) 및 높이(TT2)가 상기 범위들로 이루어지면, 반사광의 색감 차이가 작아지고 외부광의 반사를 방지할 수 있다.
또한, 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 피치(P2)는 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)의 피치(P1)보다 작고, 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 폭(W2)은 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)의 폭(W1)보다 크며, 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)의 높이(TT2)는 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)의 높이(TT1)보다 작게 이루어질 수 있다.
본 실시예에서는, 차광 패턴(BM)과 제1 내지 제3 발광 영역(EA1, EA2, EA3) 사이에서 각 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)에 제2 그루브(GR2) 및 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)를 포함하는 제2 요철부(UEP2)를 배치함과 아울러 각 컬러 필터(CF1, CF2, CF3)에 제1 그루브(GR1) 및 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ2)를 포함하는 제1 요철부(UEP1)를 배치함으로써, 외부로부터 입사된 광의 반사를 더욱 저감할 수 있다.
상술한 일 실시예에서, 표시 장치(10)는 표시 영역(DA) 내에서 서로 인접하는 발광 영역(EA)과 비발광 영역(NEA)을 구획하는 화소 정의막(PDL), 상기 화소 정의막(PDL)과 중첩하며 상기 발광 영역에 배치된 화소 전극(AE), 상기 화소 전극(AE) 상에 배치된 발광층(EL), 상기 화소 정의막(PDL) 및 상기 발광층(EL) 상에 배치된 공통 전극(CO), 상기 공통 전극(CO) 상에 배치된 봉지층(TFEL), 상기 봉지층(TFEL) 상에 배치된 반사 제어층, 및 상기 화소 정의막(PDL) 및 상기 반사 제어층 사이에 배치된 돌출부들(PRJ)의 층에 의해 정의된 요철부(UEP)를 포함하며, 상기 돌출부들(PRJ)은 상기 비발광 영역(NEA)과 중첩하고 상기 발광 영역(EA)과 비중첩할 수 있다.
한편, 상술한 실시예들의 표시 장치(10)는 컬러 필터층(CFL) 대신에 반사 제어층으로서 편광 부재(POL)를 적용할 수도 있다.
도 22는 또 다른 실시예에 따른 표시 장치를 개략적으로 나타낸 단면도이다. 도 23은 또 다른 실시예에 따른 표시 장치를 개략적으로 나타낸 단면도이다. 도 24는 또 다른 실시예에 따른 표시 장치를 개략적으로 나타낸 단면도이다.
도 22는 도 10에서 컬러 필터층(CFL)이 생략되고 편광 부재(POL)가 배치된 예를 보여주고, 도 23은 도 18에서 컬러 필터층(CFL)이 생략되고 편광 부재(POL)가 배치된 예를 보여준다. 또한, 도 24는 도 23에서 제2 봉지층(TFE2)에 제1 요철부(UEP1)가 배치되고 터치 절연층(TNS)에 제2 요철부(UEP2)가 배치된 예를 보여준다.
도 22 및 도 23을 각각 참조하면, 터치 센싱층(TSU) 상에 오버코트층(OC)이 배치되고, 오버코트층(OC) 상에 편광 부재(POL)가 배치될 수 있다. 오버코트층(OC)은 편광 부재(POL)가 잘 부착될 수 있도록 터치 센싱층(TSU)의 단차를 평탄화할 수 있다. 편광 부재(POL)는 외부로부터 입사된 광의 편광축을 변환하여 표시층(DU)에서 반사되어 출사되는 광의 투과를 차단함으로써, 외부광의 반사를 방지하는 반사 제어층으로 기능할 수 있다.
도 22의 실시예에서는 화소 정의막(PDL) 상의 비발광 영역(NEA)에 복수의 돌출부(PRJ)를 포함하는 요철부(UEP)를 배치하고, 도 23의 실시예에서는 터치 절연층(TNS)의 비발광 영역(NEA)에 제1 그루브(GR1) 및 제1 그루브(GR1) 내에 배치된 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)를 포함하는 제1 요철부(UEP1)를 배치할 수 있다.
또한, 도 24의 실시예에서는 제2 봉지층(TFE2) 상의 비발광 영역(NEA)에 제1 그루브(GR1) 및 제1 그루브(GR1) 내에 배치된 복수의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)를 포함하는 제1 요철부(UEP1)를 배치하고, 터치 절연층(TNS)의 비발광 영역(NEA)에 제2 그루브(GR2) 및 제2 그루브(GR2) 내에 배치된 복수의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)를 포함하는 제2 요철부(UEP2)를 배치할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제2 봉지층(TFE2)은 제1 요철부(UEP1)의 제1 돌출부(PRJ1)들의 층을 정의할 수 있다. 터치 절연층(TNS)은 제2 요철부(UEP2)의 제2 돌출부(PRJ2)들의 층을 정의할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 외부로부터 입사된 광이 비발광 영역(NEA)에서 요철부(UEP)의 미세 구조에 의해 반사되는 것을 저감할 수 있다.
이하, 본 발명의 표시 장치에 관하여 하기 제조예 및 실험예에서 상술하기로 한다. 다만, 하기의 제조예 및 실험예는 본 발명을 예시하는 것일 뿐 본 발명이 하기 실시예에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
<제조예1: 표시 패널의 제조>
도 10에 도시된 표시 패널 샘플들을 제조하였다. 각 샘플들은 복수의 돌출부를 제조하기 위한 마스크 패턴의 폭과 간격을 하기 표 1과 같이 달리한 것을 제외하고 그 외 구조는 동일하게 제조되었다. 이때, 노광 시간은 1250ms로 모두 동일하게 수행되었다. 또한, 하기 표 1에서 돌출부 형성 여부는 화소 정의막의 전체 영역에서 돌출부가 정상적으로 형성된 것으로 확인되면 O로 표시하였고, 부분적으로 돌출부가 형성되거나 돌출부가 형성되지 않은 것으로 확인되면 X로 표시하였다.

<실험예1: 반사율 측정>
표시 패널 샘플1 내지 4의 반사율과 블랙의 반사 색감을 측정하였다. 반사율과 반사 색감은 분광측색계를 이용하였고, 반사율은 정반사광을 제거한 반사광을 측정하는 SCE(Specular Component Excluded) 및 정반사광을 포함한 반사광을 측정하는 SCI(Specular Component Included) 방식을 이용하였다.
도 25는 실험예1에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 1 내지 4의 파장대에 따른 SCE 반사율을 나타낸 그래프이다. 도 26은 실험예1에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 1 내지 4의 블랙의 반사 색감을 나타낸 그래프이다. 또한, 하기 표 2에 표시 패널 샘플1 내지 4의 SCE 및 SCI 반사율(Y)과 블랙의 색좌표(a*b*)를 나타내었다.

도 25 및 도 26과 표 2를 참조하면, 돌출부가 정상적으로 형성된 샘플3은 돌출부가 비정상적으로 형성되거나 형성되지 않은 샘플1, 2 및 4와 비교하여, SCI 및 SCE 반사율이 감소되었고 블랙의 색감도 a*값이 약 0.3, b*값이 약 0.4 정도 개선되었다.이 결과를 통해, 비발광 영역에 복수의 돌출부를 형성함으로써, 반사율을 저감하고 블랙의 색감을 개선할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
<제조예2: 표시 패널의 제조>
도 18에 도시된 표시 패널 샘플들을 제조하였다. 샘플6과 7은 터치 절연층 및 컬러 필터에 돌출부를 제조하기 위한 마스크 패턴의 폭과 간격을 하기 표 3과 같이 제조하였고, 샘플5는 돌출부를 형성하지 않았다. 그 외 구조는 동일하게 제조되었다.

<실험예2: 반사율 측정>
표시 패널 샘플5 내지 7의 반사율과 블랙의 반사 색감을 측정하였다. 반사율은 정반사광을 제거한 반사광을 측정하는 SCE(Specular Component Excluded) 방식을 이용하였다.
도 27은 실험예2에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 5의 SCE 색좌표계를 나타낸 그래프이고, 도 28은 실험예2에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 6의 SCE 색좌표계를 나타낸 그래프이고, 도 29는 실험예2에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 7의 SCE 색좌표계를 나타낸 그래프이다. 도 30은 실험예2에 따른 표시 패널 샘플 5 내지 7의 블랙의 반사 색감을 나타낸 그래프이다. 또한, 하기 표 4에 표시 패널 샘플5 내지 7의 SCE 방위각별 평균 색차와 크로마 값을 나타내었다.

상기 도 27 내지 도 29와 표 4를 참조하면, 돌출부가 정상적으로 형성된 샘플7은 돌출부가 비정상적으로 형성되거나 형성되지 않은 샘플5 및 6과 비교하여, SCE 방위각별 평균 색차의 b*값이 약 0.3 내지 약 0.8 정도 개선되었다. 또한, 도 30을 참조하면, 돌출부가 정상적으로 형성된 샘플7은 돌출부가 비정상적으로 형성되거나 형성되지 않은 샘플5 및 6과 비교하여, 블랙의 색감 중 b*값이 약 1 정도 개선되었다.
이 결과를 통해, 비발광 영역의 터치 절연층 및 컬러 필터에 복수의 돌출부를 포함하는 요철부를 형성함으로써, 블루위시(bluish)한 색감 및 블랙의 색감을 개선할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
이상 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 실시예들을 설명하였지만, 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자는 본 발명의 그 기술적 사상이나 필수적인 특징을 변경하지 않고서 다른 구체적인 형태로 실시될 수 있다는 것을 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 그러므로 이상에서 기술한 실시예들은 모든 면에서 예시적인 것이며 한정적이 아닌 것으로 이해해야만 한다.
Claims (22)
- 서로 인접하는 표시 영역과 비표시 영역을 포함하는 기판;상기 표시 영역 내에서 서로 인접하는 발광 영역과 비발광 영역을 구획하는 화소 정의막;상기 화소 정의막과 중첩하며 상기 발광 영역에 배치된 화소 전극;상기 화소 전극 상에 배치된 발광층;상기 화소 정의막 및 상기 발광층 상에 배치된 공통 전극;상기 공통 전극 상에 배치된 봉지층;상기 봉지층 상에 배치된 반사 제어층; 및상기 화소 정의막 및 상기 반사 제어층 사이에 배치된 돌출부들의 층에 의해 정의된 요철부를 포함하며,상기 돌출부들은 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하고 상기 발광 영역과 비중첩하는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 요철부는 상기 화소 정의막 상에 직접 배치되는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 반사 제어층은 상기 발광 영역과 중첩하는 컬러 필터, 및 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하는 차광 패턴을 포함하는 차광층을 포함하고,상기 차광 패턴은 상기 발광 영역과 중첩하는 출광부를 구획하며, 상기 요철부의 상기 돌출부들은 상기 차광층의 상기 출광부와 중첩하는 표시 장치.
- 제3 항에 있어서,상기 차광층의 출광부와 상기 비발광 영역이 서로 중첩하는 중첩 영역이 정의되고,상기 요철부는 상기 중첩 영역에서 상기 차광 패턴과 비중첩하는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 돌출부들 각각은 평면상 평면 면적을 가지고,상기 평면 면적은 상기 화소 정의막으로부터 상기 반사 제어층을 향하는 방향으로 감소하는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 요철부 내의 상기 돌출부들 중에서 인접한 상기 돌출부들 사이의 각각의 피치와 상기 돌출부들 각각의 폭은 각각 0.5 내지 2㎛인 표시 장치.
- 제2 항에 있어서,상기 화소 정의막과 상기 공통 전극 사이에 배치되며, 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하는 스페이서를 더 포함하며, 상기 스페이서는 상기 돌출부들과 동일 평면 상에 배치되고,상기 돌출부들 각각의 두께는 상기 스페이서의 두께보다 작은 표시 장치.
- 제7 항에 있어서,상기 돌출부들 각각의 두께는 상기 스페이서의 두께보다 1㎛ 이상 작은 표시 장치.
- 제7 항에 있어서,상기 돌출부들과 상기 스페이서는 각각 동일한 물질 층의 패턴인 표시 장치.
- 제2 항에 있어서,상기 화소 정의막은 상기 요철부의 상기 돌출부들의 층을 정의하는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 화소 정의막은 상기 화소 전극에 접하며 상기 발광 영역을 정의하는 경사면을 포함하며, 상기 돌출부들은 상기 경사면을 따라 배치되는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 봉지층은 제1 봉지층, 상기 제1 봉지층 상에 배치된 제2 봉지층, 및 상기 제2 봉지층 상에 배치된 제3 봉지층을 포함하며,상기 제1 봉지층과 상기 제3 봉지층은 무기물을 포함하고, 상기 제2 봉지층은 유기물을 포함하고,상기 제2 봉지층은 상기 요철부의 상기 돌출부들의 층을 정의하는 표시 장치.
- 제1 항에 있어서,상기 봉지층 및 상기 반사 제어층 사이에 배치된 터치 센싱층을 더 포함하고,상기 터치 센싱층은 터치 전극, 및 터치 절연층을 포함하며,상기 터치 절연층은 상기 요철부의 상기 돌출부들의 층을 정의하는 표시 장치.
- 제2 항에 있어서,상기 봉지층 및 상기 반사 제어층 사이에 배치된 터치 센싱층을 더 포함하는 표시 장치.
- 서로 인접하는 표시 영역 및 비표시 영역을 포함하는 기판;상기 표시 영역 내에서 서로 인접하는 발광 영역과 비발광 영역을 구획하는 화소 정의막;상기 화소 정의막과 중첩하며 상기 발광 영역에 배치된 화소 전극;상기 화소 전극 상에 배치된 발광층;상기 화소 정의막 및 상기 발광층 상에 배치된 공통 전극;상기 공통 전극 상에 배치된 봉지층; 및상기 봉지층 상에 배치된 터치 센싱층을 포함하며,상기 터치 센싱층은 터치 절연층, 및 제1 돌출부들의 층을 포함하는 제1 요철부를 포함하고, 상기 제1 돌출부들은 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하며 상기 발광 영역과 비중첩하는 표시 장치.
- 제15 항에 있어서,상기 제1 요철부는 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하는 제1 그루브를 더 포함하고, 상기 제1 돌출부들은 상기 제1 그루브를 따라 배치된 표시 장치.
- 제16 항에 있어서,상기 제1 요철부는 평면상 상기 발광 영역을 둘러싸는 표시 장치.
- 제15 항에 있어서,상기 터치 절연층은 상기 제1 돌출부들을 정의하는 표시 장치.
- 제15 항에 있어서,상기 터치 센싱층 상에 배치되며, 상기 비발광 영역과 중첩하는 차광 패턴 및 상기 발광 영역과 중첩하는 컬러 필터를 포함하는 컬러 필터층을 더 포함하는 표시 장치.
