Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a steel plate, particularly a steel plate applicable to high heat input welding, and a manufacturing method thereof. Specifically, the present invention relates to a steel plate having excellent toughness in the heat affected zone (hereinafter, the heat affected zone will be referred to as HAZ) after high heat input welding. Furthermore, the steel plate of the present invention can be suitably used for large structures such as ships, marine structures, low-temperature storage tanks, and architectural and civil engineering structures.
  • Patent Documents 1 and 2 disclose technologies that attempt to solve this problem using controlled rolling and controlled cooling methods, for example, as described in Patent Documents 1 and 2.
  • Patent Document 3 also discloses a technology that ensures the Charpy toughness of the base material by refining the crystal structure of the steel plate through measures such as the application of direct quenching and tempering technology.
  • Patent Document 5 discloses a method of preventing a decrease in the Charpy toughness of the HAZ by adding an appropriate amount of B to the steel.
  • B is a nitride-forming element, and has a fast diffusion rate, especially in high temperature regions, and fixes the solute N, which has a negative effect on Charpy toughness, as nitrides during cooling during welding, thereby achieving high toughness in the HAZ.
  • the above-mentioned technology utilizing TiN for refining austenite has a problem that, when large heat input welding is performed, the weld heat affected zone is heated to the melting temperature range of TiN, so that TiN decomposes and the effect of suppressing coarsening of austenite grains is lost, and the base structure of the steel is embrittled by dissolved Ti and N produced by the decomposition of TiN, resulting in a significant decrease in the toughness of the weld heat affected zone.
  • the technology utilizing Ti oxides also has a problem in that it is difficult to disperse a specified oxide finely and uniformly in the steel plate.
  • the conventional technology is not yet sufficient as a technology for a steel plate having excellent Charpy toughness in the HAZ generated when large heat input welding is performed, and also having excellent strength at the 1/2 plate thickness position of the base material and excellent Charpy toughness after strain aging treatment.
  • an object of the present invention is to provide a steel plate having excellent Charpy toughness in the HAZ generated during high heat input welding, and also having excellent strength at the 1/2 plate thickness position of the base material and Charpy toughness after strain aging treatment, and a method for manufacturing such a steel plate.
  • excellent Charpy toughness (HAZ toughness)" of the HAZ generated when large heat input welding is performed means that, in a welded joint produced using the obtained steel plate with a welding heat input of 500 kJ/cm, vE-40°C ⁇ 53J on average.
  • the term "excellent strength at 1/2 the plate thickness position” refers to a yield strength (YS) of 460 MPa or more when a tensile test is performed at the 1/2 plate thickness position in accordance with the provisions of JIS Z 2241 (2022).
  • excellent Charpy toughness (base material toughness) after strain aging treatment” in the base material means that, in accordance with the provisions of JIS Z 2242 (2023), a Charpy fracture transition temperature (vTrs) at the 1/2 sheet thickness position after strain aging treatment in which a 5 to 10% strain is applied at room temperature and then held at 200 to 250°C for 1 to 2 hours is vTrs ⁇ 40°C.
  • the present inventors have conducted extensive research into a steel plate having excellent toughness (base material toughness) while ensuring the strength of the base material and excellent HAZ toughness in large heat input welds, and a manufacturing method for stably obtaining the steel plate.

  • the following findings were obtained. Specifically, they discovered that by controlling the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Al, Nb, Ti, B, N, and O in the steel plate within predetermined ranges, it is possible to effectively suppress the formation of island martensite (MA) in the HAZ and prevent a decrease in toughness.
  • MA island martensite
  • the base material toughness In order to obtain the above-mentioned base material toughness, it is effective to heat the steel material to 950 to 1150°C in the casting process. This allows the austenite grain size to be refined, and the final average grain size of bainite grains to be refined. In addition, it is effective to control the cumulative reduction ratio in the hot rolling process to 15.0% or more and the average value of the reduction ratio/pass to 5.0% or more when the temperature at the 1/2 thickness position is in the austenite recrystallization temperature range, and the cumulative reduction ratio in the austenite non-recrystallization temperature range to 50.0% or more.
  • the rolling end temperature at the 1/2 thickness position is controlled to be ( Ar3 point + 100) ° C. or more in the hot rolling process. This control reduces the precipitation of B nitrides at the 1/2 thickness position as much as possible, and allows solute B to remain until the accelerated cooling, thereby improving hardenability. This makes it possible to achieve the desired strength without containing a large amount of alloy elements that adversely affect HAZ toughness.

Description

Ceq=C+Mn/6+Cu/15+Ni/15+Cr/5+Mo/5+V/5 ・・・式(1)
一方、C含有量が0.080%を超えると、破壊起点となるMA(Martensite-Austenite constituent:島状マルテンサイト)の生成量が増加し母材の靭性が低下する。
Ceq=C+Mn/6+Cu/15+Ni/15+Cr/5+Mo/5+V/5 ・・・式(1)

 <板厚>
 <強度>
 <HAZ靭性>
