Definitions
- the present invention relates to an industrial hose having a rubber layer and a reinforcing layer made of plated wire. More specifically, the present invention relates to an industrial hose, such as a high-pressure hydraulic hose for industrial machinery such as construction machinery and mining machinery, or various hoses for automobiles, that has a rubber layer and a reinforcing layer made of plated wire that is in contact with the rubber layer.
- an industrial hose such as a high-pressure hydraulic hose for industrial machinery such as construction machinery and mining machinery, or various hoses for automobiles, that has a rubber layer and a reinforcing layer made of plated wire that is in contact with the rubber layer.
- the reinforcing layer is made of copper-containing wire, such as wire plated with brass (copper-zinc alloy), and a diene rubber composition is used as the material for the rubber layer.
- the rubber layer near the interface with the reinforcing layer is made into a copper sulfide-containing layer by chemical bonding between sulfur, which is a vulcanizing agent in the rubber layer material, and copper ions (Cu) in the reinforcing layer, thereby achieving adhesion between the reinforcing layer and the rubber layer.
- Patent Document 1 a hose has been proposed that has a rubber layer in which an adhesive such as resorcin or hexamethylenetetramine is blended with raw rubber that can be vulcanized by sulfur
- Patent Document 2 a hose has been proposed that has a rubber layer in which a cobalt-based compound, which is an adhesive, is blended with acrylonitrile butadiene rubber
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 are still insufficient in terms of achieving both adhesion and heat resistance.
- the present invention was developed in consideration of these circumstances, and provides an industrial hose that has excellent adhesion between the rubber layer and the reinforcing layer made of plated wire, and also has excellent heat resistance.
- the inventors of the present invention have conducted extensive research to solve the above problems. In the course of their research, they focused on the behavior of sulfur in sulfur vulcanization systems from the perspective of achieving a high level of both adhesion and heat resistance, and investigated methods for controlling the distribution of sulfur after vulcanization. As a result of further research from this perspective, the inventors have discovered that by using a specific vulcanization accelerator and N-phenyl-N-(trichloromethylthio)benzenesulfonamide as the constituent materials of the rubber layer, and by controlling the blending amounts of these components and sulfur, etc. within specific ranges, it is possible to obtain an industrial hose that not only has excellent adhesion between the reinforcing layer made of plated wire and the rubber layer, but also has excellent heat resistance.
- the gist of the present invention is the following [1] to [4].
- EDX energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry
- the present invention provides an industrial hose that has excellent adhesion between the rubber layer and the reinforcing layer made of plated wire, and also has excellent heat resistance.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an example of an industrial hose according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an example of an industrial hose according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an example of an industrial hose according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is an explanatory diagram showing a peel test in an adhesion evaluation.
- X and/or Y (X and Y are any configurations) means at least one of X and Y, and means three cases: X only, Y only, and X and Y.
- An industrial hose according to one embodiment of the present invention (hereinafter may be referred to as “the hose") is characterized by having a rubber layer made of a rubber composition (hereinafter may be referred to as "the rubber composition") which contains the following components (A) to (D), in which the content of component (C) is 0.5 to 1.0 part by mass and the content of component (D) is 1.0 to 3.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of component (A), the mass ratio of component (C) to component (B) [(C)/(B)] is 0.5 to 1.0, and the mass ratio of component (D) to the total content of components (B) to (D) [(D)/ ⁇ (B)+(C)+(D) ⁇ ] is 0.3 to 0.6, and a reinforcing layer made of plated wire in contact with the rubber layer.
- the rubber composition which contains the following components (A) to (D), in which the content of component (C) is 0.5 to 1.0 part by mass and the content of component (D)
- the present hose has excellent adhesion between the reinforcing layer made of plated wire and the rubber layer, and also has excellent heat resistance.
- the reason why the present hose is able to achieve both high adhesion and heat resistance is not entirely clear, but the present inventors speculate as follows.
- an appropriate amount of (D) sulfur contained in the rubber layer reacts first with the copper plating of the plated wire that constitutes the reinforcing layer to generate copper sulfate, etc., to form an adhesive layer, while the remaining appropriate amount of (D) sulfur is used to subsequently accelerate vulcanization, which produces a relatively large amount of monosulfide and disulfide crosslinked structures, thereby increasing the sulfur concentration near the plated wire in the rubber layer after crosslinking, and as a result, it is believed that both adhesion and heat resistance can be achieved at a high level.
- the present hose has at least a rubber layer made of the present rubber composition and a reinforcing layer made of plated wire. That is, the present hose may be a hose having a laminated structure in which a rubber layer made of the present rubber composition is formed on the outer and/or inner side of a reinforcing layer made of plated wire, and the configuration and number of other layers are not particularly limited.

Furthermore, when the rubber composition is used as the inner rubber layer, it is preferable that the acrylonitrile content (AN content) of the NBR is 10 to 33 mass %, and more preferably 18 to 28 mass %, from the viewpoint of achieving both oil resistance, adhesion, and cold resistance.
- NBR diene rubber
- the content of (A) diene rubber is, for example, 30% by mass or more, preferably 30 to 80% by mass, more preferably 32 to 70% by mass, and even more preferably 35 to 55% by mass, based on the total amount (100% by mass) of the rubber composition.

- the mass ratio of component (C) to component (B) [(C)/(B)] is in the range of 0.5 to 1.0. If the mass ratio [(C)/(B)] is outside the above range, it becomes difficult to achieve both adhesion and heat resistance between the rubber layer and the reinforcing layer made of plated wire. Description
