Abstract
Description
図1を参照し、バルーンカテーテル1Aについて説明する。バルーンカテーテル1Aは、カテーテルシャフト2及びバルーン3を有する。
バルーン3は、管状のカテーテルシャフト2の一方側の端部に接続される。バルーンカテーテル1Aは、カテーテルシャフト2の他方側の端部に非図示のハブが接続された状態で使用される。ハブは、カテーテルシャフト2を介してバルーン3に圧縮流体を供給可能である。
バルーン3は、非図示のハブによる圧縮流体の供給の有無に応じて内圧が変化することにより、収縮状態と膨張状態との間で変形可能である。図1は、膨張状態のバルーン3を示す。バルーン3は、先端側の端部(以下、「先端部3D」という。)が、内側チューブ22の突出部分225のうち先端221の近傍に熱溶着によって接続される。バルーン3は、基端側の端部(以下、「基端部3P」という。)が、外側チューブ21の先端211の近傍に熱溶着によって接続される。バルーン3は、内側チューブ22の突出部分225を外側から覆う。バルーン3の材料は特に限定されない。バルーン3の材料の一例として、ポリアミド系樹脂が用いられる。
図2は、バルーン3が収縮状態から膨張状態に変形する過程を示す。図2(A)に示す収縮状態のバルーン3に対し、非図示のハブから圧縮流体が供給されたとする。この場合、図2(B)に示すように、バルーン3の第1部分41A~43Aは伸長し、羽根部41B~43B(図2(A)参照)は解消される。更に、圧縮流体がバルーン3に供給された場合、第2部分51A~53Aは、各々、半径方向の外側に移動し、中心軸C1から離隔する。結果、図2(C)に示すように、バルーン3は膨張状態となる。なお、図2(C)では、窪み51B、52B、53Bの理解を容易とする為に、窪み51B、52B、53Bの凹み量が実際の凹み量(図1に示す窪み51B、52B、53Bの凹み量)と比べて大きく示されている。後述の図3(A)についても同様である。
バルーン3が膨張状態から収縮状態に変形する場合、膨張状態において中心軸C1との間の半径方向の距離が短い第2部分5Aは、第1部分4Aよりも先に中心軸C1に向けて移動する。第2部分5Aが移動する過程で、第1部分4Aにより羽根部4Bが形成され、バルーン3は最終的に収縮状態となる。この場合、バルーンカテーテル1Aは、収縮状態におけるバルーン3の形状を安定化させることができるので、収縮状態におけるバルーン3の径を小さくすることで血管内の通過性を良好に維持できる。又、バルーン3が膨張状態と収縮状態との間で繰り返し変形した場合でも、バルーン3は常に安定した形状に折り畳まれる。従って、バルーンカテーテル1Aは、収縮状態におけるバルーン3の径を小さくできる。
本発明は上記実施形態に限定されず、種々の変更が可能である。バルーン3の第1部分4A及び第2部分5Aの数は、上記実施形態のように3つずつに限定されず、他の任意の数でもよい。バルーン3の第1部分4Aと第2部分5Aとは、別部材により形成されてもよい。例えばバルーン3は、膨張状態で筒状となる筒状部の外面に、第2部分5Aが設けられてもよい。この場合、筒状部のうち隣接する2つの第2部分5Aの間の部分が、第1部分4Aに対応する。
図4に示すバルーンカテーテル1Bのバルーン3のように、第2部分51A~53Aの各々の外面502が丸みを帯びていてもよい。この場合、バルーン3が血管内を通過する場合において、第2部分5Aが血管の内壁に引っかかることを抑制できる。このため、バルーンカテーテル1Bは、バルーン3の血管内における通過性を良好にできる。
図5に示すバルーンカテーテル1Cのバルーン3のように、膨張状態において、第1部分4Aの内面401と中心軸C1との間の距離D11と、第2部分5Aの内面501と中心軸C1との間の距離D21とは同一でもよい。この場合、バルーン3の内面301には段差は形成されず、断面において内面401、501は真円を形成する。
図6に示すバルーンカテーテル1Dのバルーン3のように、膨張状態において、第1部分4Aの外面402と中心軸C1との間の距離D12と、第2部分5Aの外面502と中心軸C1との間の距離D22とは同一でもよい。この場合、バルーン3の外面302には段差は形成されず、断面において外面402、502は真円を形成する。又、バルーン3の内面301には、第2部分5Aの内面501に対応する部分で内側に突出する段差が形成される。
図7に示すバルーンカテーテル1Eのバルーン3のように、先端連結部3Aに配置された第2部分5Aにスリット7Aが設けられ、膨張部3Bに配置された第2部分5Aにスリット7Bが設けられ、基端連結部3Cに配置された第2部分5Aに2つのスリット7Cが設けられてもよい。スリット7A~7Cは、第2部分5Aの外面502から中心軸C1に向けて延びる切れ込み又は切り欠きである。
図8は、バルーンカテーテル1Fのバルーン3が膨張状態から収縮状態に変形する過程を示す。図8(A)に示す膨張状態のバルーン3から、圧縮流体が除去されたとする。圧縮流体の除去に応じ、バルーン3は、膨張状態から収縮状態に変形する。
バルーンカテーテル1Gは、バルーン3が膨張状態から収縮状態に変形する過程における第1部分41A、42A、43Aの形状が、バルーンカテーテル1Fの場合と相違する。図10は、バルーンカテーテル1Gのバルーン3が膨張状態から収縮状態に変形する過程を示す。図10(A)、図10(B)の状態は、図8(A)、図8(B)と同一である。
第1延伸部411、421、431の長さは、それぞれ異なっていてもよい。第2延伸部412、422、432の長さは、それぞれ異なっていてもよい。この場合、第1部分41Aにおいて、第1延伸部411よりも第2延伸部412の方が長ければよい。第1部分42Aにおいて、第1延伸部421よりも第2延伸部422の方が長ければよい。第1部分43Aにおいて、第1延伸部431よりも第2延伸部432の方が長ければよい。
Claims (18)
- 内圧の変化に応じて、膨張状態と収縮状態とに可能なカテーテル用バルーンであって、
前記収縮状態から前記膨張状態に変形する過程で、所定の延伸方向に延びる中心軸を中心とした半径方向の外側に移動して膨張し、前記膨張状態において前記延伸方向に延びる筒状となる膨張部と、
前記膨張部の前記延伸方向における一方側の端部である先端部から延びる部分であって、前記膨張状態において、前記膨張部に接続する端部である一端部の径が、前記一端部と反対側の端部である他端部の径よりも大きい先端連結部と、
前記膨張部の前記延伸方向における他方側の端部である基端部から延びる部分であって、前記膨張状態において、前記膨張部に接続する端部である一端部の径が、前記一端部と反対側の端部である他端部の径よりも大きい基端連結部と、
を備え、
少なくとも前記膨張部は、
前記収縮状態において、羽根部を形成する複数の第1部分と、
前記膨張状態において、前記中心軸を中心とした周方向において前記複数の第1部分に対して隣接する複数の第2部分と
を有し、
前記複数の第2部分は、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で、前記複数の第1部分よりも先に前記中心軸に向けて移動することで、前記中心軸に向けて凹んだ窪みを形成させる
ことを特徴とするカテーテル用バルーン。 - 内圧の変化に応じて、膨張状態と収縮状態とに可能なカテーテル用バルーンであって、
前記収縮状態から前記膨張状態に変形する過程で、所定の延伸方向に延びる中心軸を中心とした半径方向の外側に移動して膨張し、前記膨張状態において前記延伸方向に延びる筒状となる膨張部と、
前記膨張部の前記延伸方向における一方側の端部である先端部から延びる部分であって、前記膨張状態において、前記膨張部に接続する端部である一端部の径が、前記一端部と反対側の端部である他端部の径よりも大きい先端連結部と、
前記膨張部の前記延伸方向における他方側の端部である基端部から延びる部分であって、前記膨張状態において、前記膨張部に接続する端部である一端部の径が、前記一端部と反対側の端部である他端部の径よりも大きい基端連結部と、
を備え、
少なくとも前記膨張部は、
前記収縮状態において、羽根部を形成する複数の第1部分と、
前記膨張状態において、前記中心軸を中心とした周方向において前記複数の第1部分に対して隣接する複数の第2部分とを有し、
前記膨張状態において、
前記中心軸から前記複数の第1部分の各々までの間の前記半径方向の距離よりも、前記中心軸から前記複数の第2部分の各々までの間の前記半径方向の距離の方が短い
ことを特徴とするカテーテル用バルーン。 - 前記先端連結部及び前記基端連結部は、各々、前記複数の第1部分及び前記複数の第2部分を有し、
前記複数の第1部分及び前記複数の第2部分の各々は、
前記先端連結部の前記他端部から、前記基端連結部の前記他端部との間を、前記延伸方向に沿って延びることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のカテーテル用バルーン。 - 前記先端連結部及び前記基端連結部は、各々、前記複数の第1部分及び前記複数の第2部分を有し、
前記複数の第1部分及び前記複数の第2部分の各々は、
前記先端連結部の前記他端部から、前記基端連結部の前記他端部との間を、前記延伸方向に沿って延び、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で形成される前記窪みの量は、前記先端連結部及び前記基端連結部よりも前記膨張部の方が大きいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル用バルーン。 - 前記複数の第2部分の各々は、前記複数の第1部分よりも剛性が高い剛性部を含むことを特徴とする請求項1から4の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分の各々の前記半径方向の厚さは、前記複数の第1部分の各々の前記半径方向の厚さよりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1から5の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記膨張状態において、前記複数の第2部分の内面と前記中心軸との間の距離は、前記複数の第1部分の内面と前記中心軸との間の距離よりも短いことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記膨張状態において、前記複数の第2部分の外面と前記中心軸との間の距離は、前記複数の第1部分の外面と前記中心軸との間の距離よりも長いことを特徴とする請求項6又は7に記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分の外面が丸みを帯びていることを特徴とする請求項1から8の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分は、前記周方向に均等な間隔で配置されることを特徴とする請求項1から9の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分が前記中心軸に向けて凹んだ窪みが形成された状態で形状が記憶されていることを特徴とする、請求項1から10の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第1部分と前記複数の第2部分とが同一材料で構成されたことを特徴とする請求項1から11の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分のうち、前記先端連結部に配置された部分に、1つ以上のスリットが設けられたことを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分のうち、前記基端連結部に配置された部分に、1つ以上のスリットが設けられたことを特徴とする請求項3、4、12の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第2部分のうち、前記膨張部に配置された部分に、1つ以上のスリットが設けられたことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項14のいずれかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
- 前記複数の第1部分の各々は、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で曲率が最大となる頂点と、
前記周方向の一方側に隣接する前記第2部分との接続部分から前記頂点まで延びる第1延伸部と、
前記周方向の他方側に隣接する前記第2部分との接続部分から前記頂点まで延びる第2延伸部と、
を有し、
前記第1延伸部の長さよりも、前記第2延伸部の長さの方が長いことを特徴とする請求項1から15の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。 - 前記複数の第1部分の各々は、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で曲率が最大となる頂点を備え、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で、前記頂点と、前記頂点を有する前記第1部分に対して前記周方向の一方側に隣接する前記第2部分との間の距離よりも、前記頂点と、前記頂点を有する前記第1部分に対して前記周方向の他方側に隣接する前記第2部分との間の距離の方が長いことを特徴とする請求項1から15の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。 - 前記複数の第1部分の各々は、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で曲率が最大となる頂点と、
前記周方向の一方側に隣接する前記第2部分との接続部分から前記頂点まで延びる第1延伸部と、
前記周方向の他方側に隣接する前記第2部分との接続部分から前記頂点まで延びる第2延伸部と、
を有し、
前記膨張状態から前記収縮状態に変形する過程で、前記中心軸と前記頂点を通過して前記半径方向に延びる仮想平面に対し、前記頂点を有する前記第1部分の前記第1延伸部の少なくとも一部が、前記周方向の他方側に位置することを特徴とする請求項1から15の何れかに記載のカテーテル用バルーン。
