Definitions
- the present invention describes a skin covering and a method for increasing the NO concentration in the skin by means of a skin covering having fibers in which a proportion of particulate minerals and/or carbides are embedded.
- the invention relates to a face mask having a skin cover.
- Skin coverings are cosmetic or medical products that are applied to and cover the skin.
- the main goal of a skin cover is to stimulate and/or protect the covered skin in order to support regenerative processes in the skin.
- a skin cover also popularly known as a patch or mask, usually consists of a carrier that carries a pad that forms the skin contact layer.
- the carrier is generally attached to the surface of the body with the aid of an applied skin-friendly adhesive, with the skin-contact layer coming to lie over the skin area to be covered. It is also possible to make the skin covering non-self-adhesive and to fix it on/over the skin with bandages or wrappings.
- the skin contact layer is typically the site of a skin barrier that interacts with the skin. It is the part (surface area) of the skin pad that faces the skin.
- the skin contact layer can be made of different materials, but polyethylene, polylactide, viscose nonwovens are usually used.
- the skin contact layer Due to the direct exchange with the body, it is advantageous if the skin contact layer has a high level of biocompatibility, since this way possible additional irritation processes and allergic reactions can be avoided, which leads to a better skin stimulation process.
- biocompatibility means: The ability of a material to perform its desired function (in this case to support the stimulation process) without causing unwanted local or systemic effects.
- the biocompatibility of a substance not only depends on its intrinsic material properties (hydrophilicity, charge, mechanical properties, etc.), but also on the environment (site of use) and the desired function.
- One way to improve the biocompatibility of a material is to change its surface.
- a substance that is very interesting for skin stimulation, which not only promotes blood circulation but also has antimicrobial properties, is nitric oxide (NO).
- NO is known to contribute positively to wound healing through various mechanisms of action:
- NO promotes angiogenesis the blood vessels are encouraged to form new ones.
- NO has an antimicrobial effect: for example against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus (also MRSA species).
- NO also improves acne regression and 'healthy' skin renewal (known as skin renewal).
- skin renewal the transport of sebum is stimulated.
- Face masks that stimulate the skin are known, for example, from Cosmopolitan magazine and its website entitled '15 Best LED Light Therapy Masks for Acne, Wrinkels, and Redness' on February 16, 2022 (Author Chloe Metzger).
- the light generated by the LED releases NO formed in the skin by RedOx reactions.
- the LED masks are usually rigid structures and, due to the LED technology, are very complex in product structure and therefore expensive.
- Natural minerals and carbides are known to reflect, absorb, emit, cause wavelength interactions (wavelength shifting, amplification, cancellation) and polarize electromagnetic radiation.
- Especially minerals and carbides in the form of particles are preferred because they have a particularly high surface energy.
- the shape and size of the particles are particularly interesting, as they can effectively influence the effectiveness, for example through the anisotropic influence of the particle shape.
- the best-known naturally occurring minerals include SiC, Si02, CaC2, Ti02, Zr02 and AI203.
- the object of the invention is to provide a cost-effective skin cover which can increase the NO content in the skin by utilizing ambient radiation, in particular light and body heat.
- a skin cover having a carrier layer, a skin overlay which is fixed to the carrier layer and forms the skin contact layer with its free surface,
- the skin dressing has a content of synthetic fibers
- the fibers are 90 - 99% by weight, based on the total weight of the synthetic fibers, made of a polymer or mixtures of polymers from the group of acrylates, acetates, elastane (especially Lycra, Spandex), polyester, polyamides (especially nylon), viscose (particularly rayon), PU, PE, PET, PP, cellulose or semi-cellulose materials,
- the content of minerals and/or carbides being 1-10% by weight relative to the total weight of the synthetic fibers and
- the maximum particle size of the minerals and/or carbides is less than 1.5 mm and optionally an adhesive mass applied to the backing layer for fixing the skin overlay on the backing and/or fixing the skin covering on the skin.
- the present invention offers the advantage that one's own body heat is used to increase the NO production within the skin.
- the complex structure of the known LED face masks does not exist, since the inventive support is flexible and can be used on all skin regions.
- an increase in the oxygen content in the tissue and a reduction in inflammation processes is achieved, analogously to the irradiation of the skin with IR in the known LED masks. This helps reduce acne and wrinkles.
- NO is usually produced enzymatically by macrophages and fibroblasts. NO can be produced from the guanidine group in arginine in an oxidative process.
- An alternative to this biologically internal process is the production of NO by radiation.
- nitrite-rich compounds on the skin are photolytically converted into NO. This is also a natural process and can be caused by UV-A radiation, however exposing the skin to UV rays can be counterproductive as it can often lead to burns and scarring.
- skin coverings according to the invention can be used to promote the self-production of NO in the covered skin.
- Skin coverings according to the invention can be used for this, having a content of fibers that enable the absorption and reflection of electromagnetic radiation.
- fibers are known from WO 2020150493 A1.
- the UV-A rays are converted into other wavelengths and replaced by wavelengths in the NIR or FIR range, which promote the body's own NO production.
- the skin layer used in a skin covering according to the invention is doped with minerals and/or carbides, in particular with SiC, Si02, CaC2, Ti02, Zr02 and/or Al203, by embedding it in the interstices of the skin layer from a lacquer layer that was applied to the skin pad or by incorporation into the respective material of the skin contact layer.
- the subject of a further invention is a method for increasing the NO concentration in the skin by covering the skin with:
- the skin covering has a content of SiC, SiO 2 , CaC 2 , TiO 2 , ZrO 2 and/or Al 2 O 3 and
- an adhesive applied to the backing layer. wherein the skin is covered with the skin covering.
- the skin patch in a skin cover according to the invention preferably has a special skin contact layer that is characterized by biodegradability and high biocompatibility and/or has a skin contact layer with anti-inflammatory properties and/or has a skin contact layer with bacteriostatic properties.
- the carrier system is advantageous which is breathable at the same time, so that 'breathing' (transepidermal water loss, also known as TEWL for English transepidermal water loess) of the skin is enabled.
- TEWL transepidermal water loss
- a skin pad according to the invention that promotes the improvement of the skin's condition, creates a favorable environment for skin healing through physical processes, increases blood circulation in the skin, increases the oxygen content of the skin through the release or production of nitrogen monoxide using (body) heat radiation
- the release of NO within the skin improves blood circulation, reducing acne and wrinkles and improving the condition of the skin.
- Textiles such as wovens, knits, scrims or nonwovens, further nets, films, foams and laminates made from the above materials and papers may be mentioned by way of example.
- the carrier material is preferably a film, a woven fabric or a fleece, particularly preferably with a thickness of 20 to 200 ⁇ m, in particular with a basis weight of 20 to 200
- the carrier material is preferably selected from the group consisting of cotton, viscose, polypropylene, polyesters, polyamides, PET, PVC, polyethylene, polyurethanes, silicones and polylactic acid.
- the carrier material is preferably selected from the group consisting of cotton, viscose, polyesters, polyethylene and polyurethanes. g/m2.
- the carrier material is particularly preferably a polyurethane film, a polyethylene film, a polyester fleece, a woven fabric made from viscose, polyester or cotton or a woven fabric made from any mixtures of viscose, polyester and/or cotton.

Description
NO wirkt antiinflammatorisch: Das Immunsystem wird stimuliert.
