Châssis (1) pour un véhicule lourd comprenant une paire d'éléments latéraux (2, 3) s'étendant le long d'un axe longitudinal (A) du véhicule, chaque élément latéral (2, 3) comprenant une partie principale (2', 3') et une partie terminale (2'', 3''), ces derniers ayant une section transversale qui comprend une paroi latérale (2a', 2a'', 3a', 3a''), une paroi supérieure (2b', 2b'', 3b', 3b'') et une paroi inférieure (2c', 2c'', 3c', 3c'') reliées entre elles pour délimiter un espace (5) approprié pour loger un composant électrique (6), les parois supérieure et inférieure (2b', 2b'', 3b', 3b'' ; 2c', 2c'', 3c', 3c'') s'étendent en porte-à-faux à partir de la paroi latérale (2a', 2a'', 3a', 3a''), les parois supérieure et inférieure (2b'', 3b'' ; 2c'', 3c'') des parties terminales (2'', 3'') étant parallèles l'une par rapport à l'autre.
