Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sliding gate.
  • a type of sliding gates, particularly for outdoor use, known as motorised sliding gates, is now known and increasingly popular.
  • a motorised sliding gate comprises a barrier in the form of a frame, or plate, or another similar element, ground running wheels and guide means for such wheels, for example a rail and at least one support column; generally, the drive means for the barrier, e.g. a pinion-rack system, where the pinion is fixed to a lower part of the barrier and the pinion is driven by an electric gear motor, are defined at the column.

  • a first drawback linked to sliding gates comes from the necessary presence of a support column, positioned at one end of an opening where the sliding gate is installed; such a support column is generally configured to support, in a stably vertical position, the movable barrier at any time during the movement of the movable barrier.
