Definitions
- the invention relates to a sliding gate.
- a type of sliding gates, particularly for outdoor use, known as motorised sliding gates, is now known and increasingly popular.
- a motorised sliding gate comprises a barrier in the form of a frame, or plate, or another similar element, ground running wheels and guide means for such wheels, for example a rail and at least one support column; generally, the drive means for the barrier, e.g. a pinion-rack system, where the pinion is fixed to a lower part of the barrier and the pinion is driven by an electric gear motor, are defined at the column.
- the drive means for the barrier e.g. a pinion-rack system, where the pinion is fixed to a lower part of the barrier and the pinion is driven by an electric gear motor
- a first drawback linked to sliding gates comes from the necessary presence of a support column, positioned at one end of an opening where the sliding gate is installed; such a support column is generally configured to support, in a stably vertical position, the movable barrier at any time during the movement of the movable barrier.
- the support column usually comprises a group of idle wheels, pivoted with a vertical axis and positioned so that one or more of them rest against a first vertical face of a movable barrier, and so that one or more of them rest against the opposite second vertical face of the same movable barrier, which movable barrier is arranged to run between these idle wheels.
- the assembly defined by the support column with the idle wheels accompanying the movable barrier is typically bulky and has low visual impact; in particular, the construction of the group of support wheels requires a certain number of components and a certain assembly time, with corresponding high costs.
- a second drawback of such support means of the movable barrier is constituted by the fact that if, due to a break or malfunction of any kind, the movable barrier is moved outside the group of support wheels, this movable barrier falls to the ground with very serious risks for any people who might be near the movable barrier.
- the task of the present invention is to develop a sliding gate capable of obviating the aforementioned drawbacks and limitations of the prior art.
- an object of the invention is that of developing a safer sliding gate with respect to similar motorised sliding gates of the known type.
- Another object of the invention is to develop a sliding gate that is less bulky with respect to motorised sliding gates of the known type.
- a further object of the invention is to develop a sliding gate which is easier to install than known similar gates.
- FIG. 1 represents a perspective view of a sliding gate according to the invention
- Figure 2 represents a detail of the sliding gate of Figure 1 ;
- FIG. 3 represents a cross-sectional side view of the sliding gate according to the invention.
- FIG. 3A represents a cross-sectional side view of a detail of the sliding gate according to the invention.
- FIG. 4 represents a perspective view of a group of details of a sliding gate according to the invention.
- FIG. 5 represents a cross-sectional front view of a variant embodiment of a sliding gate according to the invention.
- a sliding gate according to the invention is indicated as a whole by number 10.
- Such sliding gate 10 comprises:
- one or more running wheels for example two running wheels 12 and 13, pivoted to the movable barrier 11 and projecting downwards therefrom, with respect to a normal operating arrangement;
- Such guide rail 28 defines a running surface for the one or more running wheels 12, 13, and defines a running direction X for the movable barrier 11.
- the peculiarity of the sliding gate 10 lies in the fact that it includes anti overturning means 30 configured for the sliding coupling of the movable barrier 11 to said guide rail 28.
- the guide rail 28 has a T-shaped section.
- such guide rail 28 comprises a lower part 28b, for connection to the ground, and an upper part 28a, for supporting said running wheels 12, 13.
- the upper part 28a has a cross section with a greater width than the width of the cross section of the lower part 28b; such configuration gives the cross section of the guide rail 28 the above-mentioned T-shape.
- the anti-overturning means 30 comprise two opposing rolling pressers 31, each of which supported by a corresponding bracket 32 extending downwards from the bottom of the movable barrier 11.
- the bottom of the movable barrier 11 comprises a bottom plate 25a
- This bottom plate 25a is defined at a containment portion 25 defined in the lower part 11 a of the movable barrier 11.
- the brackets 32 extend downwards from the bottom plate 25a.
- each rolling presser 31 is of the ball type.
- a ball-type rolling presser 31 comprises a ball 31a pushed outwards by an elastic element 31b contained in a body 31c of the ball presser 31, where the ball 31a is held, free to rotate, in a housing having an opening 31d of such dimensions as to allow the ball 31a to protrude therefrom.
- This ball-type rolling presser 31 has, for example, a body 31c which is externally threaded, like a grub screw.
- This body 31c is inserted into a through hole 32a defined on the bracket 32 and is fixed to the bracket 32 itself by means of two opposite nuts 32c.
- each rolling presser 31 is easily replaceable in the event of wear or breakage.
- the rolling pressers 31 are configured so that said anti-overturning means 30 run without rubbing against the guide rail 28.
- Each of said rolling pressers 31 extends from a said respective bracket 32 until it comes into contact with the guide rail 28 below said upper part 28a of said guide rail 28, i.e. in contact with the lower part 28b of the guide rail 28 itself.
- the anti-overturning means 30 comprise two pairs of opposing rolling pressers 31.
- a first pair of rolling pressers 31 is positioned in proximity to a first running wheel 12, while a second pair of rolling pressers 31 is positioned in proximity to a second running wheel 13.
- the rolling pressers 31 allow the anti-overturning means 30 to run without rubbing against the guide rail 28.
- the sliding gate 10 comprises:
- one or more running wheels e.g. two running wheels 12 and 13, pivoted to said movable barrier, 11 and projecting downwards therefrom, with respect to a normal operating arrangement;
- guide rail 28 defines a running surface for the one or more running wheels 12, 13, and defines a running direction X for the movable barrier 11;
- - anti-overturning means 130 configured for sliding coupling of the movable barrier 11 to said guide rail 28.
- the anti-overturning means 30 comprise two opposing rolling pressers 131, each of which supported by a corresponding bracket 32 extending downwards from the bottom of the movable barrier 11.
- the bottom of the movable barrier 11 comprises a bottom plate
- This bottom plate 25a is defined at a containment portion 25 defined in the lower part 11 a of the movable barrier 11.
- each rolling presser 131 is of the bearing type.
- a rolling presser 131 of the bearing type comprises a bearing 131a.
- the bearing 131a is pivoted to a pin which is supported by a bearing fork 131f which is in turn pushed towards the guide rail 28 by an elastic element contained in the body 131c of the rolling presser 131.
- the bearings 131a are intended to be of the ball, roller, and other similar and equivalent types.
- the rolling presser 31 comprises a simple wheel or a simple roller in place of the bearing.
- the sliding gate 10 can comprise two running wheels 12 and 13, a first front running wheel 12 and a second rear running wheel 13, said running wheels 12, 13 being arranged inside said lower part 11 a of the movable barrier 11.
- the bottom plate 25a of the containment portion 25 has a window 25c for each of the running wheels 12 and 13; these windows 25c are clearly visible in Figure 4.
- the bottom plate 25a also comprises the brackets 32 for the rolling pressers 31, two opposite first support reliefs 33 for a first running wheel 12, and two opposite second support reliefs 34 for the second running wheel 13.
- An anti-overturning device, or anti-overturning kit, 50 for a barrier of a sliding gate, comprising a bottom plate 25a, with the anti-overturning means 30, 130 on board, is also intended to be the subject of the invention.
- the anti-overturning means 30, 130 are configured for the sliding coupling of said movable barrier 11 to said guide rail 28, said guide rail 28 having a T-shaped section.
- the guide rail 28 comprises a lower part 28b, for connection to the ground, and an upper part 28a, for supporting said running wheels 12, 13, said upper part 28a having a cross section with a greater width than the width of the cross section of said lower part 28b.
- the anti-overturning means 30, 130 comprise two opposing rolling pressers 31, 131, each of which supported by a corresponding bracket 32 extending downwards from said bottom plate 25a, each of said rolling pressers 31, 131 extending from a said respective bracket 32 until it comes into contact with said guide rail 28 below said upper part 28a of said guide rail 28.
- the anti-overturning device 50 also comprises the support wheels 12 and 13; such a device 50 can be easily mounted on any barrier, even already existing, of a gate, in order to create a particularly safe sliding gate.
- the device 50 can comprise the guide rail 28 configured for coupling with the anti-overturning means 30, integrated in turn to the bottom plate 25a, as described above.
- the invention has developed a sliding gate that is safer than similar sliding gates of the known type, thanks to the anti-overturning means which prevent the movable barrier from falling in a direction transverse to the advancement direction X at any time; this movable barrier therefore does not need to be supported by a support column and by a group of idle wheels.
- the invention has developed a sliding gate that is less bulky than known sliding gates, as it is free from a support column.
- the invention has developed a sliding gate that is easier to install than similar known gates, since it does not require the installation of a support column with the corresponding group of idle wheels necessary to support the movable barrier.
