Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Umfeldbeleuchtungsvorrichtung (1) eines Fahrzeugs (2), wobei die Umfeldbeleuchtungsvorrichtung (1) in Abhängigkeit eines Steuerungsbefehls mittels wenigstens einer Leuchteinrichtung (3) wenigstens ein Lichtmuster (4) in ein Umfeld des Fahrzeugs (2) abstrahlt. Die Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Umfeldbeleuchtungsvorrichtung (1) durch Eingabe einer Bedienhandlung in einen Bereitschaftsmodus versetzt wird, wobei die Umfeldbeleuchtungsvorrichtung (1) während sie im Bereitschaftsmodus betrieben wird beim Annähern einer autorisierten Person an das Fahrzeug (2) Licht aussendet.
