Abstract

Description
本発明は、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法に関する。
リン酸エステルは、プラスチックの難燃剤、可塑剤、増粘剤として利用され、その用途は自動車産業、航空機産業、コンピュータの製造、建築物の壁材など、多岐に亘る。また、リン酸エステルの一つであるリン酸トリブチルは、核燃料サイクルの際の抽出溶液に利用されるなど、原子力関連分野にも利用される。
従来、リン酸エステルは、黄燐を出発原料とし、塩化リン、オキシ塩化リンの変換を経て、リン酸エステルに製造される。
出発原料となる黄燐は、精製に高エネルギーを必要とする物質であり、日本国内では製造されておらず、輸入に依存しており入手が困難である。
一方、リン酸はリンの消費過程の最終生成物であり、大量に入手可能であるものの、化学的な変換手段が乏しいため、肥料として使用できない品質のリン酸に関しては、希釈して廃棄されているのが現状であり、その有効利用が求められている。
そこで、リン酸を出発原料としてリン酸エステルを製造できれば、高エネルギーを必要とする黄燐の消費を削減可能であり、また、廃棄されるリン酸を削減できるなど、リン循環社会の実現に近づくことができる。
例えば、一般的なエステルであれば、カルボン酸とアルコールとを酸性条件下で加熱することにより脱水縮合反応させて製造可能である。
しかしながら、このような方法は、リン酸を用いたリン酸エステルの製造には適用できない。
そこで、リン酸エステルの製造方法として、アミド化合物または尿素化合物を含む溶媒中で、ホスファゼン化合物を触媒としてリン酸とアルコールとを反応させてリン酸エステルを製造する方法が知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。
しかしながら、上記の方法の場合、ホスファゼン化合物によってリン酸モノエステル化反応を進めることでリン酸モノエステルを製造することは可能であるものの、2置換エステルまたは3置換エステル、すなわちリン酸ジエステルやリン酸トリエステルを製造することはできない。
本発明は、このような点に鑑みなされたもので、リン酸とヒドロキシ化合物とを用いてリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを製造可能なリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法を提供することを目的とする。
請求項1記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法は、リン酸とこのリン酸に対して過剰量のヒドロキシ化合物とを加熱還流条件下で脱水縮合し、この脱水縮合時に離脱する水分を還流途中に配置したコンクリートスラッジ由来の吸着材である脱水材により吸着することで、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを製造するものである。
請求項2記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法は、請求項1記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法において、ヒドロキシ化合物は、芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類であるものである。
請求項3記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法は、請求項1または2記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法において、水より沸点が高い溶媒を用いるものである。
請求項4記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法は、請求項3記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法において、リン酸に対して過剰量のアミンを溶媒へのリン酸可溶化剤として用いるものである。
請求項5記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法は、請求項4記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法において、アミンは、水より沸点が高いものである。
本発明によれば、リン酸とヒドロキシ化合物とを用いてリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを製造可能となる。
以下、本発明の一実施の形態について説明する。
本実施の形態では、出発原料であるリン酸とヒドロキシ化合物とを、加熱還流条件下で撹拌しつつ脱水縮合することで、リン酸エステルを製造する。その際、本実施の形態では、溶媒、リン酸可溶化剤、および、触媒の少なくともいずれかを必要に応じて用いる。
リン酸としては、オルトリン酸が用いられる。リン酸は、リンの消費過程の最終生成物であり、大量かつ容易に入手可能である。リン酸は、水分を含むものでもよい。
ヒドロキシ化合物としては、芳香族アルコール、または、フェノール類が用いられる。本実施の形態において、ヒドロキシ化合物としては、フェノールが好適に用いられる。
溶媒は、脱水縮合時に水を取り除くためのキャリアとして作用する。溶媒としては、水よりも沸点が高いものが用いられる。例えば、溶媒としては、ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)などのホルムアミドが好適に用いられる。その他、溶媒としては、トルエン、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)、ジオキサン、n,n-ジメチルアセトアミド、キシレン、1,1,2-トリクロロエタン、1,1,2,2-テトラクロロエタンなどを用いてもよい。
リン酸可溶化剤は、リン酸の溶媒への可溶化の役割の他に、リン酸の縮合反応を受けやすくする脱離基としての役割、および、芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類のリンへの求核性を向上させる役割を有する。リン酸可溶化剤としては、アミンが好適に用いられ、より好ましくは、水より沸点が高いアミンが用いられる。例えば、アミンとしては、トリ-n-ブチルアミンなどのトリアルキルアミンが好適に用いられる。
触媒は、好ましくは不揮発性のものが用いられる。触媒としては、例えばn-ブチルイミダゾールなどのアルキルイミダゾールが好適に用いられる。その他、触媒としては、ピリジン系などを用いてもよい。
本実施の形態において、リン酸とヒドロキシ化合物との縮合時に離脱する副生成物である水分は、脱水材により吸着する。脱水材としては、モレキュラーシーブスなどが用いられてもよいが、本実施の形態では、コンクリートスラッジ由来の吸着材が好適に用いられる。
そして、生成されるリン酸エステルは、リン酸ジエステルと、リン酸トリエステルとの少なくともいずれかを含む。具体的に、本実施の形態において生成されるリン酸エステルは、例えばリン酸ジフェニルと、リン酸トリフェニルとを含む。生成されるリン酸エステルには、リン酸モノエステルが含まれていてもよい。このリン酸エステルは、次の反応式により生成される。
当該反応式において、ヒドロキシ化合物は、リン酸に対して1当量より多い量である過剰量用いることが好ましい。リン酸に対するヒドロキシ化合物の当量は、製造したいリン酸エステルの種類や収率、つまり、リン酸ジエステル、リン酸トリエステルの割合に応じて設定される。例えば、本実施の形態において、フェノールは、リン酸に対し5-10当量程度用いられる。
また、リン酸可溶化剤も、リン酸に対して1当量より多い量である過剰量用いることが好ましい。リン酸に対するリン酸可溶化剤の当量は、製造したいリン酸エステルの種類や収率に応じて設定される。例えば、本実施の形態において、トリ-n-ブチルアミンは、リン酸に対し3-5当量程度用いられる。
触媒は、リン酸に対し1当量以下、例えば0.1-1当量用いられる。
脱水縮合の反応温度は、例えば110℃-180℃とするが、この温度は溶媒に応じて適宜変更してよい。
上記のリン酸エステルを製造する際には、例えば図1に示されるような反応容器Aが用いられる。
反応容器Aは、加熱還流装置である。反応容器Aは、フラスコ1に対し、抽出器2が接続されている。フラスコ1には、それぞれ所定量のリン酸と、リン酸可溶化剤と、溶媒と、触媒と、を含む反応液Rが収容されている。また、フラスコ1には、反応液Rの撹拌用の撹拌子が収容されていてもよい。抽出器2としては、ソックスレー抽出器が一例として用いられる。抽出器2は、抽出器本体3の一端部に冷却器4が接続されて構成されている。抽出器本体3の他端部にはフラスコ1が接続される。冷却器4としては、ジムロート冷却管が一例として用いられる。冷却器4には、冷媒として、冷却水が導入部4aから導入され、排出部4bから排出される。抽出器本体3の本体管3aに、脱水材Pが収容され、本体管3aとフラスコ1との間にコック5が介在される。つまり、脱水材Pは、還流途中に配置される。また、抽出器本体3は、本体管3aに対し、分岐管3bが分岐されている。分岐管3bは、一端がコック5よりもフラスコ1側の位置で本体管3aに接続され、他端が本体管3aの冷却器4側の端部に接続されている。
そして、反応容器Aは、フラスコ1を下側、抽出器2を上側として、スターラなどの加熱撹拌装置に備えられる例えば油浴などにフラスコ1の下部を浸し、フラスコ1内の反応液Rを撹拌しつつ所定温度に加熱する。フラスコ1から蒸発した溶媒は、図中の矢印に示されるように、抽出器本体3の分岐管3bから冷却器4へと上昇し、冷却器4によって冷却されて抽出器本体3の本体管3aへと落下し、コック5を介してフラスコ1へと還流する。このとき、本体管3a内に収容された脱水材Pによって副生成物の水分を吸着することで、フラスコ1内の反応液Rを順次濃縮する。このように、脱水材Pにより水分を系外に出してリン酸エステルが平衡反応によりリン酸に戻ることを防止しつつ加熱還流を行うことで上記の脱水縮合反応を進め、所定の反応時間後、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを得る。得られたリン酸エステルは、例えばシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーなどの適宜の方法により分離する。使用し終えた脱水材は、そのまま廃棄する。
一実施の形態によれば、リン酸とこのリン酸に対して過剰量のヒドロキシ化合物とを加熱還流条件下で脱水縮合することにより、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを容易に製造可能となる。
この結果、原料供給において輸入が主体である黄燐の利用を避けて、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを製造できる。
また、黄燐を利用してリン酸エステルを製造する場合には、副生成物として塩酸が生成するため、塩酸を廃棄する必要があるのに対し、本実施の形態によれば、塩酸が生成しないので、塩酸を廃棄する必要がない。
そして、潜在的に大量かつ容易に入手可能なリン酸を原料とすることで、リン酸を廃棄せずに済み、枯渇資源であるリンのリサイクルが可能になる。
縮合反応時に離脱する水分を還流途中に配置した脱水材により吸着することで、副生成物の水を還流させた途中でトラップし、リン酸エステルが平衡反応によりリン酸に戻ることを防止して反応効率を高め、リン酸エステルの製造性をより向上できる。
また、脱水材としてコンクリートスラッジ由来の吸着材を用いることで、例えばモレキュラーシーブスなどの脱水材と比較して、安価で、かつ、高い吸水率を得ることができ、リン酸エステルの製造性をより向上できる。
さらに、ヒドロキシ化合物として、脂肪族アルコールとは反応性が異なる芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類を用いることで、リン酸との脱水縮合反応を効果的に進め、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを効率よく製造できる。特に、芳香族リン酸エステルは、難燃剤に有効利用できる。
また、脱水縮合時に、水より沸点が高い溶媒を用いることで、脱水縮合における反応温度を100℃以上に設定でき、脱水縮合反応を適切に促進可能となる。
さらに、リン酸に対して過剰量のアミンを溶媒へのリン酸可溶化剤として用いることで、リン酸とヒドロキシ化合物(本実施の形態では芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類)との脱水縮合反応を効果的に進め、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを効率よく製造できる。特に、このリン酸可溶化剤として用いるアミンを、水より沸点が高いものとすることで、脱水縮合における反応温度を100℃以上に設定でき、脱水縮合反応を適切に促進可能となる。
つまり、本実施の形態では、リン酸に対して、過剰量の芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類と過剰量のリン酸可溶化剤とを用い、脱水材により副生成物の水を還流させる途中で系外に出しつつ、リン酸と芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類との脱水縮合を加熱還流条件下で行うことで、2置換エステルであるリン酸ジエステル、または、3置換エステルであるリン酸トリエステルを含むリン酸エステルを効率的に製造可能となる。
Claims (5)
- リン酸とこのリン酸に対して過剰量のヒドロキシ化合物とを加熱還流条件下で脱水縮合し、この脱水縮合時に離脱する水分を還流途中に配置したコンクリートスラッジ由来の吸着材である脱水材により吸着することで、リン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルを製造する
ことを特徴とするリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法。 - ヒドロキシ化合物は、芳香族アルコールまたはフェノール類である
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のリン酸ジエステルまたはリン酸トリエステルの製造方法。 - 水より沸点が高い溶媒を用いる
