Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cascade rinsing system for treating a belt-shaped flat product, having at least two rinsing stages arranged in series with respect to a conveying direction of the flat product through the cascade rinsing system, each rinsing stage having a rinsing basin from which a rinsing liquid for treating the flat product in the respective rinsing stage can be taken. It is known to remove scale from a flat steel product by pickling the flat steel product using a pickling acid. After the flat steel product has been pickled, the surface of the flat steel product must be freed from residues of the pickling acid still adhering to it.
  • This cleaning of a flat steel product usually takes place in a continuous rinsing system, such as a multi-stage countercurrent rinsing system (cascade rinsing system), which can be designed as a pressure spray system, for example.
