- Patent Document 2 discloses a light source for a methane gas sensor including a light emitting element that emits ultraviolet light and / or visible light, and a phosphor layer provided on the light emitting element.
- the excitation light leaks to the outside together with fluorescence, it may adversely affect the function as a sensor.
- ultraviolet light tends to have an adverse effect on the human body, especially when its wavelength is small. Therefore, in the light emitting device described in Patent Document 2, a filter that does not transmit excitation light but transmits only fluorescence is formed on the surface of the phosphor layer.
- a filter that does not transmit excitation light but transmits only fluorescence is formed on the surface of the phosphor layer.
- an object of the present invention is to provide a wavelength conversion member capable of easily suppressing leakage of excitation light in the ultraviolet region to the outside.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention is a wavelength conversion member used for converting excitation light having a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm into visible light, and contains a glass matrix and a phosphor dispersed in the glass matrix.
- the total light transmittance of the glass matrix at a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm and a thickness of 1 mm is 0.1 to 80%.
- the total light transmittance of the glass matrix in the wavelength conversion member to 0.1% or more, it is possible to suppress excessive absorption of ultraviolet excitation light by the glass matrix and achieve a desired luminous efficiency. It becomes possible.
- the glass matrix is mol%, SiO 2 30 to 85%, B 2 O 30 to 35%, Al 2 O 30 to 25%, Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O 0 to. It preferably contains 7%, MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO 0 to 45%.
- ⁇ + ⁇ + " means the total amount of each corresponding component.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention preferably contains a glass matrix in mol% and CeO 2 0.001 to 10%. In this way, it is possible to prevent the ultraviolet excitation light from leaking to the outside of the wavelength conversion member.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention is a wavelength conversion member used for converting excitation light having a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm into visible light, and contains a glass matrix and a phosphor dispersed in the glass matrix.
- glass matrix in mol%, SiO 2 30 ⁇ 85% , B 2 O 3 0 ⁇ 35%, Al 2 O 3 0 ⁇ 25%, Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O 0 ⁇ 7%, MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO 0 ⁇ 45% It is characterized by containing.
- the phosphor is preferably a garnet-based phosphor.
- the phosphor is preferably Lu 3 Al 5 O 12 : Ce.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention preferably has a phosphor content of 0.01 to 70% by volume.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention is preferably made of a sintered body containing glass powder, which is a raw material of a glass matrix, and a phosphor. In this way, it is possible to easily manufacture a wavelength conversion member in which the phosphor is uniformly dispersed.
- the light emitting device of the present invention is characterized by including the above-mentioned wavelength conversion member and a light source for irradiating the wavelength conversion member with excitation light having a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm.
- the peak intensity I 1 derived from the excitation light and the peak intensity I 2 derived from the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor are 0 ⁇ I 1 It is preferable to satisfy the relationship of / I 2 ⁇ 0.2. By doing so, it is possible to obtain a light emitting device having a desired light emitting intensity and reducing leakage of ultraviolet excitation light to the outside.
- the present invention it is possible to provide a wavelength conversion member capable of easily suppressing leakage of excitation light in the ultraviolet region to the outside.
- the wavelength conversion member of the present invention is a wavelength conversion member used for converting excitation light having a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm into visible light, and contains a glass matrix and a phosphor dispersed in the glass matrix. Is.
- the total light transmittance of the glass matrix at a wavelength of 250 to 280 nm and a thickness of 1 mm is 0.1 to 80%, 0.5 to 80%, 0.6 to 50%, 0.8 to 30%, and 1 to 20. %, Especially preferably 1.2 to 12%. If the total light transmittance of the glass matrix is too low, the excitation light is excessively absorbed by the glass matrix, making it difficult to achieve the desired luminous efficiency. On the other hand, if the total light transmittance of the glass matrix is too high, the ultraviolet excitation light that has not been wavelength-converted tends to leak to the outside.
- the glass matrix for example, in mol%, SiO 2 30 to 85%, B 2 O 30 to 35%, Al 2 O 30 to 25%, Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O 0 to 7%, MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO 0 to Those containing 45% can be mentioned.
- the reason for limiting the glass composition in this way will be described below.
- “%” means “mol%” unless otherwise specified.
- SiO 2 is a component that forms a glass network, and has an effect of improving ultraviolet transmittance and devitrification resistance. It also has the effect of improving weather resistance and mechanical strength.
- the content of SiO 2 is preferably 30 to 85%, 40 to 80%, 50 to 75%, and particularly preferably 55 to 70%. If the content of SiO 2 is too small, it becomes difficult to obtain the above effect. On the other hand, if the content of SiO 2 is too large, the sintering temperature becomes high, so that the phosphor tends to deteriorate during the production of the wavelength conversion member. In addition, the fluidity of the glass powder during firing is inferior, and bubbles tend to remain in the glass matrix after firing. Furthermore, the ultraviolet transmittance may become too high.
- B 2 O 3 is a component that lowers the melting temperature and significantly improves the meltability.
- B 2 O 3 does not significantly reduce the ultraviolet transmittance, and has the effect of suppressing the absorption of ultraviolet rays by the alkali metal component and the alkaline earth metal component.
- the content of B 2 O 3 is preferably 0 to 35%, 0 to 20%, 1 to 15%, 2 to 10%, 3 to 8%, and particularly preferably 4 to 7%. If the content of B 2 O 3 is too large, the weather resistance tends to decrease. In addition, the ultraviolet transmittance may become too high.
- Al 2 O 3 is a component that improves weather resistance and mechanical strength. Further, like B 2 O 3 , it has the effect of suppressing the absorption of ultraviolet rays by the alkali metal component and the alkaline earth metal component.
- the content of Al 2 O 3 is preferably 0 to 25%, 0.1 to 20%, 1 to 10%, and particularly preferably 2 to 8%. If the content of Al 2 O 3 is too large, the meltability tends to decrease. In addition, the ultraviolet transmittance may become too high.
- Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O are components that lower the melting temperature to improve the meltability and lower the softening point. However, if the content of these components is too large, the weather resistance tends to decrease, and the emission intensity tends to decrease with time due to irradiation with excitation light. Therefore, the content of Li 2 O + Na 2 O + K 2 O is preferably 0 to 7%, 0 to 5%, 0 to 3%, 0 to 2%, particularly 0 to 1%, and most preferably not contained. ..
- the contents of each component of Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O are 0 to 7%, 0 to 5%, 0 to 3%, 0 to 2%, and particularly 0 to 1%, respectively. Preferably, it is most preferably not contained.
- the content (total amount) of Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O is preferably 0.1 to 7%, more preferably 1 to 6.5%, and 2 to 6 It is more preferably%. Further, the contents of Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O are more preferably 0 to 7%, 0.1 to 5% and 0.5 to 4%, particularly 1 to 3%, respectively.
- Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O are preferably used in combination of two or more, particularly three. Specifically, it is preferable that Li 2 O, Na 2 O and K 2 O are contained in an amount of 0.1% or more, 0.5% or more, particularly 1% or more, respectively. In this way, the softening point can be efficiently lowered due to the mixed alkali effect. Further, when the content of each alkali oxide is equalized, the mixed alkali effect can be easily obtained.
- MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO are components that lower the melting temperature, improve the meltability, and lower the softening point. Unlike the alkali metal component, these components do not affect the decrease in emission intensity of the wavelength conversion member with time.
- the content of MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO is preferably 0 to 45%, 1 to 45%, 5 to 40%, 10 to 35%, and particularly preferably 20 to 33%. If the content of MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO is too small, the softening point is unlikely to decrease. On the other hand, if the content of MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO is too large, the weather resistance tends to decrease.
- the content of each component of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO is 0 to 35%, preferably 0.1 to 33%, and particularly preferably 1 to 30%. If the content of these components is too high, the weather resistance tends to decrease.
- ZnO is a component that lowers the melting temperature and improves the meltability.
- the ZnO content is preferably 0 to 15%, 0 to 10%, 0 to 5%, 0.1 to 4.5%, and particularly preferably 1 to 4%. If the ZnO content is too high, the weather resistance tends to decrease. In addition, the transmittance tends to decrease due to phase separation, and as a result, the emission intensity tends to decrease.
- CeO 2 is a component that lowers the ultraviolet transmittance of the glass matrix. By containing CeO 2 , it is possible to prevent the ultraviolet excitation light from leaking to the outside of the wavelength conversion member. In addition, CeO 2 has an effect of suppressing a decrease in emission intensity with time due to Li 2 O, Na 2 O or K 2 O.
- the content of CeO 2 is 0-10%, 0.001-10%, 0.001-5%, 0.01-3%, 0.05-1%, especially 0.1-0.5%. Is preferable. If the content of CeO 2 is too large, the visible light transmittance of the glass matrix tends to decrease, and the emission intensity tends to decrease.
