は、 測定誤差を極力無くすために十分に大きく設定 し、 例えば、 5000101とするのが良い。 長さ 1- 13の測定時には、 補強コー ドに対して表示繊度の 1 /209 /〇! I 6 Xの荷重を負荷する。 その後、 」
I 3 1_ 1 01 7に規定される初期引張抵抗度の測定条件に準拠して補強コー ドの応力歪み曲線を求め、 歪み
での力 1_ 3 (1\1) を前記応力歪み 曲線から求める。 このようにして得た力!- 5をベルトカバー層の補強コード 1本当たりの張力とする。 なお、 測定時の温度は 20°〇とし、 湿度は 65% とする。

発明を実施するための形態
[0015] 以下、 本発明の構成について添付の図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
図 1は本発明の実施形態からなる空気入りラジアルタイヤを示し、 図 2はそ のべルト層及びべルトカバー層を示すものである。 また、 図 3はべルトカバ —層の構造を示し、 図 4 (a) , (匕) はべルトカバー層に使用されるスト リップを示すものである。
[0016] 図 1 に示すように、 本実施形態の空気入りラジアルタイヤは、 タイヤ周方 向に延在して環状をなすトレッ ド部 1 と、 トレッ ド部 1の両側に配置された 一対のサイ ドウオール部 2と、 サイ ドウオール部 2のタイヤ径方向内側に配 置された一対のビード部 3とを備えている。 トレッ ド部 1 にはタイヤ周方向 に延びる複数本の主溝 1 0が形成されているが、 主溝 1 0の他にタイヤ幅方 向に延びるラグ溝を含む各種の溝を形成することができる。
[0017] 一対のビード部 3 , 3間にはタイヤ径方向に延びる複数本の補強コードを 含む力ーカス層 4が装架されている。 各ビード部 3には、 環状のビードコア 5が埋設されており、 そのビードコア 5の外周上に断面三角形状のゴム組成 物からなるビードフイラー 6が配置されている。 そして、 力ーカス層 4はビ -ドコア 5の廻りにタイヤ内側から外側へ巻き上げられている。 力ーカス層 4の補強コードとしては、 例えばポリエステルコード等の有機繊維コードが 好ましく使用される。
[0018] 一方、 トレッ ド部 1 における力ーカス層 4の外周側には、 複数層のベルト 層 7がタイヤ全周にわたって埋設されている。 これらべルト層 7は、 タイヤ 周方向に対して傾斜する複数本の補強コードを含み、 かつ層間で補強コード が互いに交差するように配置されている。 ベルト層 7において、 補強コード のタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度は例えば 1 0 ° 〜 4 0 ° の範囲に設定され ている。 ベルト層 7の補強コードとしては、 例えばスチールコードが好まし く使用される。
[0019] ベルト層 7の外周側には、 高速耐久性の向上と口ードノイズの低減を目的 として、 図 2に示すように、 補強コード〇 (図 3参照) をタイヤ周方向に対

して 5° 以下の角度で配列してなる少なくとも 1層のベルトカバー層 8がべ ルト層 7の全域を覆うように配置されている。 ベルトカバー層 8は、 ベルト 層 7の全域を覆うフルカバーだけであっても良く、 或いは、 ベルト層 7の全 域を覆うフルカバーとベルト層 7の両エッジ部のみを覆うエッジカバーとの 組み合わせであっても良い。 ベルトカバー層 8は、 図 3に示すように、 補強 コード 0とそれを被覆するコートゴム とから構成されている。 ベルトカバ —層 8は少なくとも 1本の補強コード〇を引き揃えてゴム被覆してなるスト リップ 3 (図 4 (3) , (b)参照) をタイヤ周方向に螺旋状に巻回したジ ョイントレス構造となっている。 図 4 (a)のストリップ 3はコートゴム
中に複数本の補強コード〇を含むものであり、 図 4 (1〇) のストリップ 3は コートゴム 中に 1本の補強コード〇を含むものである。
[0020] 上記空気入りラジアルタイヤにおいて、 ベルトカバー層 8を構成する補強 コード〇として、 1 00°〇における 2. 〇〇 |\]/ I 6 X負荷時の弾性率が 3. 5〇 1\1/ ( 6父 - %) ~5. 5〇 1\1/ ( I ø X - %) の範囲にあると 共に、 周波数 20 !~1 歪土〇. 1 %、 初荷重 3009、 昇温速度 2°〇/分 の条件下で測定される 1 3 n 5のピーク値が〇. 1 5以下であるポリエチレ ンテレフタレート繊維コードが使用されている。
[0021] 上述した空気入りタイヤでは、 ベルトカバー層 8を構成する補強コード〇 として 2. 0〇 1\1/〇1 1 6父負荷時の弾性率を 3. 5〇 1\1/ ( I ø X - %) ~5. 5〇 1\1/ ( I 6 X %) の範囲にあるポリエチレンテレフタレート繊 維コードを使用することにより、 コード疲労性を十分に確保しながら口ード ノイズを効果的に低減することができる。 しかも、 ポリエチレンテレフタレ -卜繊維コードの上記条件下で測定される I 3 n 5のピーク値を〇. 1 5以 下に設定することにより、 ポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維コードの発熱を 抑制し、 ベルトカバー層 8の周辺でのセパレーション故障の発生を抑制する ことができる。 これにより、 耐久性を良好に維持しながら、 口ードノイズを 効果的に低減することが可能になる。

[0023] また、 ベルトカバー層 8に使用されるポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維コ -ドについて、 上記条件下で測定される I 3 n 5のピーク値が〇. 1 5より も大きいとポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維コードの発熱性が高くなるため タイヤの耐久性が低下し、 特に、 ベルトカバー層 8の周辺でのセパレーシヨ ン故障が発生し易くなる。 なお、 ベルトカバー層 8に使用されるポリエチレ ンテレフタレート繊維コードは多数のフィラメントから構成されているが、 そのフィラメントカウントは 300本以下であることが望ましい。 フィラメ ントカウントが 300本よりも多いと、 ポリエチレンテレフタレート繊維コ -ドのフィラメント間の摩擦が大きくなり、 発熱が促進されてコード疲労性 が低下する。
