 本発明は、端子付き電線に関するものである。
 従来、例えば特許文献1に示す端子付き電線では、互いに異種金属からなる端子と電線との間のガルバニック腐食を防止するために、端子における電線が接続される面に金属めっきなどの導電防食層を設けている。
特開2011-165618号公報
 本発明者らは、端子にめっき処理を施す以外の構成で、芯線と端子との間で生じうるガルバニック腐食を抑制できないかを検討していた。
 本発明は、上記課題を解決するためになされたものであって、その目的は、めっきなどの防食層を端子に設けずともガルバニック腐食を抑制できる端子付き電線を提供することにある。
 上記課題を解決する端子付き電線は、金属材料からなる芯線を有する電線と、前記芯線とは異なる種類の金属材料からなり、前記芯線の先端部に接続された端子とを備え、前記端子は、該端子における前記芯線との接続部の周囲に設けられ該接続部の周囲に水を滞留させないようにするための排水部を備えている。
 本発明の端子付き電線によれば、めっきなどの防食層を端子に設けずともガルバニック腐食を抑制できる。

 以下、端子付き電線の一実施形態について説明する。なお、図面では、説明の便宜上、構成の一部を誇張又は簡略化して示す場合がある。また、各部分の寸法比率についても、実際と異なる場合がある。
 図1~図3に示す本実施形態の端子付き電線10は、自動車用ワイヤハーネスに用いられるものであり、さらに具体的には、例えばエンジンルームなどの車室外の領域(被水領域)に用いられるものである。端子付き電線10は、絶縁体よりなる絶縁被覆11にて芯線12が覆われてなる太物電線13と、絶縁被覆11から露出された芯線12の先端部に対して超音波溶接により接続された端子14とを備えている。
 太物電線13の芯線12は、アルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金からなる複数の素線からなる撚り線である。また、芯線12は長さ方向と垂直な断面積が3[mm]以上に設定されている。
 本実施形態の端子14は、平面視で長方形状をなす銅または銅合金の金属板材からなり、プレス加工にて成形されるものである。また、本実施形態の端子14は表面にめっきが施されていない無垢材としている。芯線12の先端部は、板状の端子14の一方の主面14aに超音波溶接にて接続されている。芯線12の先端部は、その長さ方向が主面14aと平行となる状態で該主面14aに接続されている。
 端子14は、図示しない相手側端子に対し、例えば金属製のボルトBにて締結固定される相手側接続部15を有している。相手側接続部15は、端子14の長辺方向の一端側に設けられている。一方、端子14における芯線12との接続部16は、端子14の長辺方向の他端側に設けられている。なお、以下の説明では、端子14の長辺方向の一端側(相手側接続部15側)を端子14の先端側とし、端子14の長辺方向の他端側(接続部16側)を端子14の基端側として説明する。
 端子14は、該端子14における芯線12との接続部16の周囲に水を滞留させないようにするための排水部としての貫通孔17を備えている。貫通孔17は、端子14を板厚方向(図1における紙面直交方向)に貫通している。また、貫通孔17は接続部16の周囲に沿って連続的に形成されている。また、本実施形態の貫通孔17は平面視でコ字状をなし、接続部16に対して、芯線12の先端面側(端子14の先端側)と、芯線12の長さ方向と直交する幅方向の両側(図1における左右方向の両側)とに亘って形成されている。
 端子14は、接続部16の基端側において連続部18を有している。連続部18は、端子14の接続部16と、端子14の本体部位(相手側接続部15を含む部位)とを連結する。つまり、接続部16は、芯線12の絶縁被覆11からの露出部における基端側から連続部18を介して端子14の本体部位(相手側接続部15を含む部位)と繋がっている。
 [腐食影響距離調査のための試験]
 本発明者らは、端子付き電線10に付着した水が芯線12と端子14とを電気的に導通するときに、端子14の接続部16(端子14の主面14aにおける芯線12との接続部分の周縁E)から端子14の水付着位置までの距離と、ガルバニック腐食の度合いとの関係を調査した。以下には、当該調査するために行った試験について、図4(a)~(d)及び図5に従って説明する。
 5wt%の塩水を噴霧して端子14の表面及び芯線12の表面に水膜を形成した後、芯線12の電圧降下(抵抗値)[mV/A]、及び芯線12の断面減少率[%]を測定した。また、上記の測定を、図4(a)~(d)に示すように、端子14の主面14aにおけるマスキング領域Amの大きさが異なる4つのパターンで行った。なお、芯線12の電圧降下、及び芯線12の断面減少率は、それらの値が大きいほどガルバニック腐食の度合いも大きくなる。
 図4(a)~(d)に示すように、端子14の主面14aにおける芯線12との接続部分の周縁Eの周囲には、マスキングを施していない領域、すなわち、端子14の主面14aが露出された露出領域Asが設けられている。また、端子14の主面14aにおける露出領域As以外の領域は、例えばペンキなどの樹脂塗料からなるマスキング領域Amとしている。
 ここで、図4(a)のパターンは、露出領域Asの前記周縁Eからの距離(幅寸法Ws)を1[mm]としている。図4(b)のパターンは、露出領域Asの前記周縁Eからの距離(幅寸法Ws)を2[mm]としている。図4(c)のパターンは、露出領域Asの前記周縁Eからの距離(幅寸法Ws)を3[mm]としている。そして、図4(c)のパターンは、露出領域Asの前記周縁Eからの距離(幅寸法Ws)を4[mm]としている(マスキング領域Am無し)。
 図5(a)のグラフは、上記各パターンにおける芯線12の電圧降下(抵抗値)[mV/A]を示している。同図に示すように、露出領域Asが1[mm]のパターンで電圧降下が最も小さい。そして、露出領域Asが3[mm]まで増えるにつれて電圧降下が増え、露出領域Asが3[mm]のパターンと4[mm]のパターンでは、電圧降下がほぼ変わらない結果となった。
 図5(b)のグラフは、上記各パターンにおける芯線12の断面減少率[%]を示している。同図に示すように、露出領域Asが1[mm]のパターンで断面減少率が最も小さい。そして、露出領域Asが3[mm]まで増えるにつれて断面減少率が増え、露出領域Asが3[mm]のパターンと4[mm]のパターンでは、断面減少率がほぼ変わらない結果となった。
 図6のグラフは、理論計算によって導き出した、5wt%の塩水を噴霧して端子14の表面及び芯線12の表面に水膜を形成した状態における、前記周縁Eからの距離と腐食電流比との関係を示している。なお、腐食電流比が大きいほどガルバニック腐食の度合いも大きくなる。同図に示すように、周縁Eからの距離が0~1[mm]までは範囲では、腐食電流比の減衰はほぼ無い。周縁Eからの距離が1[mm]よりも大きくなると腐食電流比が減少し、周縁Eからの距離が2[mm]で腐食電流比が約30%まで減少する。さらに、周縁Eからの距離が3[mm]で腐食電流比が約10%まで減少し、周縁Eからの距離が4[mm]で腐食電流比が約4%まで減少し、周縁Eからの距離が5[mm]で腐食電流比が約2%まで減少する。そして、周縁Eからの距離が6[mm]以上では、腐食電流比はほぼ0となる。すなわち、芯線12が端子14における前記周縁Eから6[mm]以上離れた位置と導通したときのガルバニック腐食の度合いは極めて小さいと言える。
 上記の腐食影響距離の調査結果に基づき、端子14の主面14aにおける芯線12との接続部分の周縁Eから貫通孔17までの距離(貫通孔17の端縁17aまでの距離)が5[mm]以内に設定されることがガルバニック腐食を抑制する点で好ましく、当該距離が小さいほどガルバニック腐食の影響が小さくなる。
 本実施形態の作用について説明する。
 端子14の主面14aに付着した水は、貫通孔17を通じて主面14aの裏面側に排出される。このため、接続部16の周囲に水が滞留することが抑制される。従って、互いに異種金属からなる端子14と芯線12との間におけるガルバニック腐食を抑制できる。なお、貫通孔17の幅は、貫通孔17内に水が留まらない好適な幅に設定されることが望ましい。
 本実施形態の効果について説明する。
 (1)端子付き電線10は、アルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金からなる芯線12を有する太物電線13と、銅または銅合金からなり、芯線12の先端部に接続された端子14とを備える。そして、端子14は、該端子14における芯線12との接続部16の周囲に設けられ該接続部16の周囲に水を滞留させないようにするための排出部(貫通孔17)を備える。この態様によれば、貫通孔17により接続部16の周囲に水が滞留しにくくなる。このため、めっきなどの防食層を端子14に設けずとも、芯線12と端子14との間に生じうるガルバニック腐食を抑制できる。
 また、前記排出部は、端子14と芯線12との接続面(主面14aの一部)に対する垂直方向(端子14の板厚方向)において端子14を貫通する貫通孔17である。このため、芯線12が接続された端子14の主面14aに付着した水を、貫通孔17を通じて端子14の裏面側に排出できる。従って、接続部16の周囲から水を好適に排出することができる。
 (2)貫通孔17は接続部16の周囲に沿って連続的に設けられるため、接続部16の周囲から水を好適に排出することができる。
 (3)接続部16(周縁E)から貫通孔17(端縁17a)までの距離が5[mm]以内に設定されている。これにより、芯線12と端子14との間に生じうるガルバニック腐食をより好適に抑制できる(図5及び図6参照)。
 本実施形態は、以下のように変更して実施することができる。本実施形態及び以下の変更例は、技術的に矛盾しない範囲で互いに組み合わせて実施することができる。
 ・上記実施形態では、端子14の接続部16の周囲に設けられ該接続部16の周囲に水を滞留させないようにするための排水部を貫通孔17としたが、これに特に限定されるものではなく、排出部を例えば図7及び図8に示すような構成としてもよい。
 図7及び図8に示す構成の排出部は、端子14の板厚方向(主面14aに対する垂直方向)において接続部16に対し変位するように該板厚方向に屈曲する屈曲部21である。端子14において、芯線12との接続部16と、相手側接続部15とは、屈曲部21を介して連続している。すなわち、相手側接続部15は、接続部16に対して板厚方向に変位した位置に形成されている。
 屈曲部21は、接続部16の周囲に沿って連続的に形成されている。また、屈曲部21は、接続部16に対して、芯線12の先端面側(端子14の先端側)と、芯線12の長さ方向と直交する幅方向の両側(図7における左右方向の両側)とに亘って形成されている。
 上記態様によっても、排出部としての屈曲部21により接続部16の周囲に水が滞留しにくくなる。このため、めっきなどの防食層を端子14に設けずとも、芯線12と端子14との間に生じうるガルバニック腐食を抑制できる。なお、同例の屈曲部21は、接続部16から直角に屈曲しているが、接続部16と屈曲部21とがなす角が鋭角または鈍角となるように形成してもよい。
 また、同例においても、接続部16(周縁E)から排水部としての屈曲部21までの距離が5[mm]以内に設定されることがガルバニック腐食を抑制する点で好ましく、当該距離が小さいほどガルバニック腐食の影響が小さくなる。
 ・上記実施形態では端子14を無垢銅としたが、これ以外に例えば、超音波溶接による芯線12との接続が可能な金属材料(例えば銀など)のめっきを、端子14の表面全体に施した構成としてもよい。
 ・端子14及び芯線12の相対的な大きさは上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、適宜変更してもよい。なお、端子14及び芯線12の相対的な大きさを変更した場合でも、ガルバニック腐食の抑制のための接続部16から排水部(貫通孔17や屈曲部21)までの好適な距離が変わることはない。
 ・上記実施形態では、端子14を銅または銅合金とし、芯線12をアルミニウムまたはアルミニウム合金としたが、端子14及び芯線12の金属材料は、互いに異なる種類の金属材料であればよい。なお、端子14及び芯線12の金属材料を上記実施形態から変更した場合でも、ガルバニック腐食の抑制のための接続部16から排水部(貫通孔17や屈曲部21)までの好適な距離が変わることはない。
 ・上記実施形態では、芯線12の断面積が3[mm]以上の太物電線13における端子14との接続構造において適用したが、これに特に限らず、芯線12の断面積が3[mm]未満の電線と端子14との接続構造に適用してもよい。また、芯線12の断面積を小さく変更することに伴い、芯線12と端子14との接続態様を例えば圧着などに変更してもよい。
 本発明がその技術的思想から逸脱しない範囲で他の特有の形態で具体化されてもよいということは当業者にとって明らかであろう。例えば、実施形態(あるいはその1つ又は複数の態様)において説明した部品のうちの一部を省略したり、いくつかの部品を組合せてもよい。本発明の範囲は、添付の請求の範囲を参照して、請求の範囲が権利を与えられる均等物の全範囲と共に確定されるべきである。

Claims (6)

  1.  金属材料からなる芯線を有する電線と、
     前記芯線とは異なる種類の金属材料からなり、前記芯線の先端部に接続された端子と
    を備え、
     前記端子は、該端子における前記芯線との接続部の周囲に設けられ該接続部の周囲に水を滞留させないようにするための排水部を備えている端子付き電線。
  2.  前記排水部は、前記接続部の周囲に沿って連続的に設けられている、請求項1に記載の端子付き電線。
  3.  前記排水部は、前記端子と前記芯線との接続面に対する垂直方向において前記端子を貫通する貫通孔である、請求項1又は2に記載の端子付き電線。
  4.  前記端子は板状をなし、該端子の主面に前記芯線が接続されており、
     前記排水部は、前記主面に対して垂直な板厚方向において前記接続部に対し変位するように該板厚方向に屈曲する屈曲部である、請求項1又は2に記載の端子付き電線。
  5.  前記接続部から前記排出部までの距離が5[mm]以内に設定されている、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の端子付き電線。
  6.  前記芯線の断面積が3[mm]以上であり、
     前記芯線と前記端子とが超音波溶接にて接続されてなる、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の端子付き電線。
