Abstract
シリンダブロック(12)の下部には、オイルパンアッパ(25)が取り付けられている。オイルパンアッパ(25)の側壁(31)には、開口部(33)が形成されている。可変圧縮比機構は、コントロールシャフトの回転位置に応じてピストンの上死点位置を変化させて圧縮比を変更する。コントロールシャフトは、アクチュエ一タ(30)によって回転駆動する。アクチュエ一タ(30)は、オイルパンアッパ(25)の外側に一部が位置した状態でメインベアリングキャップ(13)に固定されている。
