Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a building element assembly having isolation properties and anchoring for panel forming the front side of a volume to be filled with concrete to form a foundation wall.
  • Foundation walls may be required to be covered by some form of fa ade plaster, at least on parts being above ground. This can be custom woodwork, or plates that have to be mounted to the foundation wall after construction.
  • Using a filled EPS/XPS form requires the construction worker to remove the EPS/XPS in areas of the foundation wall that are to be covered by wall elements or other material.
  • EPS/XPS forms or simple construction formwork requires the construction worker to be able to remove some, or the entire outer layer of the concrete foundation wall. This must be done after curing of the filled in concrete, which represent a time factor which may delay the construction work. In tight environments this will further add to the complexity of the construction task.
  • the time factor and accessibility to do a proper job are critical parameters in a construction process.
  • the present invention provides in one embodiment a device for providing a foundation wall element assembly for construction of a foundation wall wherein the element assembly is mounted in two stages and then provides a variable size room for filling concrete, and thus enables the construction worker to use the same elements regardless of the requirement to the thickness of the underground concrete foundation, and provides an easy access for reinforcement/armoring work.
  • the assembly process enables the construction worker to easily arrange the reinforcement while assembling the foundation wall element assembly.
  • the foundation wall element assembly itself comprises an outer wall finishing which eliminates further work on the foundation wall once the concrete to be filled into the foundation wall element assembly has cured.
  • the present invention may additionally provide a predictable protection against frost expansion close to and under the underground wall.
