Definitions
- This disclosure relates to an electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
- the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a wound electrode body in which, for example, a positive electrode and a negative electrode are wound through a separator.
- a positive electrode and a negative electrode constituting a wound electrode body generally have a structure in which a mixture layer is formed on both surfaces of a strip-shaped current collector, and leads are joined to exposed portions where the current collector surface is exposed.
- electrodes having various structures have been proposed in order to improve battery performance such as battery capacity and output.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an electrode in which an exposed portion to which a lead is bonded is provided only on one end side in the width direction of a current collector in order to increase the area of the composite layer and increase the capacity of the battery.
- Patent Document 2 discloses an electrode provided with an exposed portion over the entire width of the current collector.
- the lead when the exposed portion is provided only on one end side in the width direction of the current collector, the lead is normally bonded to one end side in the width direction of the current collector. Since the thickness of the lead is thicker than the thickness of the composite material layer, when the wound electrode body is configured using the electrode disclosed in Patent Document 1, one end in the axial direction of the electrode body is locally affected by the thickness of the lead. Bulge out. For this reason, when such an electrode is used, it is difficult to form a winding structure that is more stable on the outer side than the joint portion of the lead, and there is a problem that winding deviation of the electrode body is likely to occur.
- An electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a strip-shaped current collector, a composite material layer formed on both surfaces of the current collector, and an exposed portion where both surfaces of the current collector are exposed. And at least one surface of the current collector in the width direction on at least one surface of the current collector.
- the mixed material layer is formed adjacent to the other end side of the exposed portion along the length of the portion of the lead located on the current collector along the width direction of the current collector. 60% to 98% of the width.
- a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a wound electrode body in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are wound via a separator, and at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode is the nonaqueous electrolyte. It is comprised by the electrode for secondary batteries, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.

- exposed portions 102A and 102B in which the current collector surface is exposed without being covered with the composite material layers 103A and 103B are provided only on one end side in the width direction of the current collector 101.
- the lead 104 is bonded to one end side in the width direction of the current collector 101.
- the thickness of the portion where the lead 104 is joined is thicker than the thickness of the other portions. Therefore, when a wound electrode body is formed using the electrode 100, one end of the electrode body in the axial direction is formed. The side bulges locally, and the winding of the electrode body is likely to occur.
- the lead is disposed so as not to be biased to one end side in the width direction of the current collector, which may cause a problem when the electrode 100 is used. It is difficult for the electrode body to be wound.
- the other end is not provided with the exposed portion extending across the entire width of the electrode, but the other end of the current collector in the width direction is not extended. Then, a mixture layer is formed adjacent to the other end side of the exposed portion along the width direction. Thereby, the penetration
- the conductive foreign matter that is considered to cause a decrease in the OCV of the battery is, for example, spatter that may be generated when a lead drawn from a wound electrode body is welded to the battery case.
- a positive electrode lead is drawn out from one side in the axial direction of the electrode body, and a negative electrode lead is drawn out from the other side in the axial direction.

- the winding displacement of the electrode body hardly occurs compared to the batteries of Comparative Examples 1 to 3. Therefore, the length of the portion of the positive electrode lead located on the current collector is 60% or more of the width of the current collector, and the lead is arranged so as not to be biased to one end side in the width direction of the current collector. It can be seen that the winding deviation of the electrode body can be suppressed.
- the batteries of Examples 1 to 9 are less likely to cause OCV defects than the battery of Comparative Example 4. From this, it is good to form a composite material layer (second region) alongside the exposed portion in the width direction of the current collector at the end on the other end side in the width direction of at least one surface of the current collector. It can be seen that a large OCV can be secured. By forming the second region, it is considered that spatter generated when the negative electrode lead is welded to the case main body can be prevented from entering the electrode body, thereby ensuring a good OCV.

Abstract
Description

リチウム含有遷移金属酸化物は、特に限定されないが、一般式Li1+xMO2(式中、-0.2<x≦0.2、MはNi、Co、Mn、Alの少なくとも1種を含む)で表される複合酸化物であることが好ましい。
