L'invention concerne une hotte aspirante à tirage latéral dotée d'une plaque déflectrice, la performance d'aspiration étant améliorée pour capturer davantage de fumée huileuse, et qui collecte l'huile capturée dans un récepteur d'huile. La présente hotte aspirante (100) comprend : un panneau de surface interne (20) qui est ménagé sur la surface interne d'une hotte (10) et comporte une ouverture (22) pour l'aspiration de l'air ; et une plaque déflectrice (30) qui fait face au panneau de surface interne et est montée de façon à couvrir l'ouverture. Lorsque la hotte aspirante est installée, une extrémité (20U) du panneau de surface interne et une extrémité (30U) de la plaque déflectrice correspondant à l'extrémité précitée du panneau de surface interne sont situées à des positions plus élevées que l'autre extrémité (20D) du panneau de surface interne et l'autre extrémité (30D) de la plaque déflectrice correspondant à l'autre extrémité du panneau de surface interne. La présente hotte aspirante comprend en outre : une unité de suppression de volume d'air (21) qui rétrécit l'espace entre la plaque déflectrice et le panneau de surface interne dans une partie sur l'autre côté extrême ; et une unité de réception d'huile (40) qui est ménagée sur l'autre côté extrême de la plaque déflectrice ou l'autre côté extrême du panneau de surface interne et a une largeur supérieure à la largeur de l'autre extrémité de la plaque déflectrice.
