- the functional outline, configuration, operation, modification example, and application example of the wireless LAN system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described below.
- the STA 100 in the wireless LAN system receives its own BSS or OBSS signal
- the STA 100 reports parameter information related to these signals to the AP 200 instead of the management apparatus as in the prior art. More specifically, when the STA 100 receives a signal of its own BSS or OBSS, the STA 100 provides parameter information related to the modulation method, transmission power, BSS identifier, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), transmission path usage time, etc. Alternatively, it is stored in a state where OBSS is distinguished. Then, the STA 100 generates a report frame including these parameter information (hereinafter referred to as “report frame” for convenience), and transmits the report frame to the AP 200 of the own BSS. As a result, the AP 200 can grasp the reception status of the STA 100's own BSS signal or the interference status between the own BSS signal and the OBSS signal.
- RSSI Receiveived Signal Strength Indicator
- FIG. 3 is a sequence diagram illustrating an operation in which the STA 100 according to the present embodiment transmits a report frame to the AP 200.
- step S1000 the STA 100b generates a report frame including the parameter information of the own BSS or OBSS, and transmits the report frame to the AP 200a.
- the AP 200a can grasp that the OBSS exists and that the STA 100b receives the OBSS signal.
- step S1008 the STA 100c can recognize that the report frame has been transmitted from the STA 100b to the AP 200a. Thereby, for example, the STA 100c may transmit the report frame to the AP 200b triggered by the transmission of the report frame from the STA 100b to the AP 200a.
- step S1012 the STA 100c generates a report frame including parameter information of the own BSS or OBSS, and transmits the report frame to the AP 200b.
- the AP 200b can grasp that the OBSS exists and that the STA 100c receives the OBSS signal.
- step S1120 the STA 100b can recognize that the report frame has been transmitted from the STA 100c to the AP 200b in the same manner as described above.
- the AP 200 can obtain a report frame including parameter information of the signal of the own BSS or OBSS from each STA 100. Then, the AP 200 stores the parameter information included in the report frame in association with the identification information of the STA 100 that is the acquisition source. In the above, it has been described that the AP 200 grasps that interference has occurred based on the report frame. However, the AP 200 has generated interference based on the fact that the own device receives the OBSS signal. You may know that.
- the AP 200 determines whether or not the cooperative operation between the APs 200 can be performed. More specifically, when the AP 200 grasps that interference has occurred, the AP 200 changes the parameter information of the own BSS or OBSS based on the parameter information of the own BSS and the parameter information of the OBSS, thereby generating the interference. It is determined whether it is possible to prevent or reduce the influence of interference. The determination can vary. For example, in the STA 100, when the RSSI of the signal of the own BSS is high, the AP 200 may determine that the transmission power can be reduced.
- the AP 200 may determine that the transmission path use time can be shortened by changing to a modulation scheme with high transmission efficiency based on the good communication quality with the STA 100. Further, the AP 200 may determine that the signal transmission timing can be postponed based on the type of transmission data (the type of frame, the type defined by EDCA, and the like).
- the AP 200 determines that the cooperative operation between the APs 200 is possible, the AP 200 generates an interference control request frame including parameter information (also referred to as first parameter information) of the own BSS, and transmits the interference control request frame to the AP 200 of the OBSS. .
- the AP 200 can request the AP 200 of the OBSS to change the parameter information of the OBSS.
- the AP 200 not only requests interference control from the AP 200 of the OBSS but also changes parameter information of the own BSS.
- description will be made mainly on the case where all APs 200 of the BSS 10 that interfere with each other change the parameter information, but only one AP 200 may change the parameter information.
- FIG. 4 is a sequence diagram illustrating an operation in which the AP 200 according to this embodiment transmits an interference control request frame and an operation to change parameter information.
- step S1100 the AP 200a grasps that interference has occurred due to the presence of the OBSS, based on the report frame received from the STA 100 or the like.
- step S1104 the AP 200a determines whether or not a cooperative operation with the AP 200b belonging to the OBSS is possible.
- the AP 200a generates and transmits an interference control request frame addressed to the AP 200b of the OBSS in step S1108.
- the AP 200b receives the interference control request frame, and recognizes that interference control is requested from the AP 200a. Then, the AP 200b determines whether or not a cooperative operation with the AP 200a belonging to the OBSS is possible. More specifically, the AP 200b determines whether or not interference control can be performed based on OBSS parameter information (also referred to as second parameter information) included in the interference control request frame. When determining that the cooperative operation is possible, the AP 200b performs interference control by changing the parameter information of the own BSS in step S1116. In step S1120, the AP 200b generates and transmits an interference control request frame addressed to the AP 200a including the changed parameter information.
- OBSS parameter information also referred to as second parameter information
- step S1124 the AP 200a receives the interference control request frame, and changes the parameter information of the own BSS based on the changed OBSS parameter information.
- the AP 200a that has received the interference control request frame in step S1120 determines again whether or not the cooperative operation is possible based on the parameter information of the changed OBSS, and the cooperative operation is possible. If so, the parameter information of the own BSS may be changed.
- the sequence diagram in FIG. 4 is merely an example, and which AP 200 changes the parameter information first is arbitrary. More specifically, when determining that the cooperative operation is possible, the AP 200a changes the parameter information of the own BSS before transmitting the interference control request frame, and thereafter includes the parameter information after the change.
- An interference control request frame addressed to the AP 200b may be generated and transmitted.
- the STA 100 transmits a report frame to the AP 200, so that the AP 200 can grasp interference information without using a management device. Further, the AP 200 can exchange information used for interference control without using a management device by exchanging the interference control request frame with the AP 200 of the OBSS. Then, the AP 200 can appropriately perform the interference control by changing the parameter information of the own BSS based on the interference control request frame.

More specifically, when a report frame is received from the STA 100, the received frame analysis unit 221 acquires the parameter information of the own BSS and the parameter information of the OBSS included in the report frame, and stores them in the parameter information storage unit 225. Let When an interference control request frame is received from the AP 200 of the OBSS, the reception frame analysis unit 221 acquires OBSS parameter information and the like included in the interference control request frame and stores them in the parameter information storage unit 225. The reception frame analysis unit 221 may edit these parameter information and store the edited parameter information in the parameter information storage unit 225.

- the information element 40 includes modulation scheme (MCS) information, Sensitivity (hereinafter referred to as “reception sensitivity” for convenience) information, version information, type information, transmission channel usage time information, frequency information, and the like. May be
- the information element 41 shown in FIG. 13 includes information specialized for the OBSS STA 100. More specifically, the information element 41 includes OBSS STA RSSI Level and OBSS STA Address that were not included in the information element 40.
- the OBSS STA RSSI Level is information indicating the level of interference (reception strength) from the OBSS STA 100
- the OBSS STA Address is information identifying the STA 100.
- the AP 200 of the OBSS that has received the interference control request frame including the information element 41 can grasp the influence of interference by each STA 100. Accordingly, the AP 200 can appropriately change the parameter information for each specific STA 100, instead of changing the parameter information for all the STAs 100 for interference control.
- control unit 230 includes an operation control unit 231 and a signal control unit 232. Since the function of the signal control unit 232 is the same as that of the signal control unit 132 of the STA 100, description thereof is omitted.
- the operation control unit 231 controls processing related to a report frame, an interference control request frame, and interference control.
- the processing related to the report frame will be specifically described.
- the operation control unit 231 controls each component so as to generate and transmit a frame for requesting the STA 100 for the report frame.
- the timing at which the operation control unit 231 requests the report frame is arbitrary.
- the operation control unit 231 may calculate an average throughput in each STA 100, and may request a report frame for the STA 100 when there is a STA 100 whose average throughput is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold.
- the operation control unit 231 may make a request for a report frame after a predetermined time has elapsed since the previous request for a report frame.
- the operation control unit 231 may request a report frame when it is determined that the error occurrence frequency is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold based on the error occurrence information provided from the reception processing unit 212.
- the processing related to the interference control request frame will be described in detail.
- the operation control unit 231 recognizes that interference has occurred based on the report frame from the STA 100, the content extracted from the report frame and the own BSS The parameter information that causes the interference is specified based on the parameter information. Then, the operation control unit 231 determines whether or not the cooperative operation between the APs 200 can be performed by changing the parameter information.
- the operation control unit 231 determines that the cooperative operation is possible, the operation control unit 231 generates an interference control request frame including the parameter information of the own BSS and the parameter information of the other BSS stored in the parameter information storage unit 225, and the OBSS Each configuration is controlled so as to be transmitted to the AP 200.
- the processing related to interference control will be described in detail.
- the operation control unit 231 determines that cooperative operation is possible, the operation control unit 231 changes the parameter information of the own BSS to prevent occurrence of interference or reduce the influence of interference. I will let you.
- the parameter information changed for the interference control is arbitrary. An example is described below.
- the operation control unit 231 can reduce the reach of the signal from the AP 200 by reducing the transmission power, and can prevent the occurrence of interference. Further, the operation control unit 231 can reduce the degree of communication performance degradation when interference occurs by reducing the transmission power.
- the operation control unit 231 may set different transmission power for each STA 100 instead of setting the same transmission power to all the STAs 100 belonging to the own BSS. For example, the operation control unit 231 may set the transmission power according to the communication quality between the AP 200 and each STA 100. More specifically, the operation control unit 231 may set the transmission power for the STA 100 to a lower value as the communication quality between the AP 200 and the STA 100 is better. The communication quality between the AP 200 and each STA 100 can be determined based on the RSSI of the signal received by the AP 200 from the STA 100, the transmission error occurrence status, and the like. Accordingly, the operation control unit 231 can set transmission power suitable for each STA 100 as compared to the case where the same transmission power is set for all the STAs 100.
- the operation control unit 231 may change other parameter information together. For example, when the operation control unit 231 reduces the transmission power, the operation control unit 231 also changes the modulation method (MCS) to a modulation method with low transmission efficiency (BPSK, QPSK, etc.) that enables more reliable communication. Good. Thereby, the operation control part 231 can prevent the communication error resulting from reducing transmission power in the state which set the modulation system with high transmission efficiency.
- MCS modulation method
- BPSK, QPSK, etc. a modulation method with low transmission efficiency
- the operation control unit 231 may also reduce the reception sensitivity. Thereby, since the operation control part 231 can set the receiving sensitivity suitable for transmission power, it can prevent that an unnecessary signal is sensed.
- the reception sensitivity may be set to a different value for each BSS, or may be set to a different value for each STA. For example, the operation control unit 231 may reduce the reception sensitivity for the OBSS signal and improve the reception sensitivity for the own BSS signal. It may be reduced.
- the operation control unit 231 when interference has occurred due to a long transmission path usage time, the operation control unit 231 shortens the transmission path usage time by changing the modulation scheme to a scheme with high transmission efficiency, thereby reducing interference. Can be prevented.
- the operation control unit 231 may set a different modulation method for each STA 100 as described above. For example, the operation control unit 231 may set the modulation scheme according to the communication quality between the AP 200 and each STA 100. More specifically, the operation control unit 231 may set a modulation scheme with higher transmission efficiency as the communication quality between the AP 200 and the STA 100 is better.
- the operation control unit 231 can set a modulation scheme suitable for each STA 100 as compared to the case where the same modulation scheme is set for all STAs 100. Similarly to the above, the operation control unit 231 may also change other parameter information when changing the modulation method.
- the parameter information changed for interference control is arbitrary.
- the operation control unit 231 may perform interference control by adjusting a communication time used in its own BSS by changing a beacon transmission time (TBTT Timing), a transmission line use time, and the like.
- the operation control unit 231 may perform interference control by changing the frequency band.
- the operation control unit 231 when the parameter information of the own BSS is changed, the operation control unit 231 generates a frame including the changed parameter information and notifies the STA 100 of the changed parameter information so as to notify the STA 100 of the changed parameter information. Control each configuration.
- FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating a flowchart of an operation in which the AP 200 receives a report frame from the STA 100.

In step S1220, AP 200 recognizes that interference has occurred based on the fact that the OBSS parameter information is included in the report frame, and the process ends. - step S1432 the wireless communication unit 210 transmits an interference control request frame, and the process ends. If the operation control unit 231 determines in step S1416 that the cooperative operation with the AP 200 of the OBSS is not possible (No in step S1416), the process ends.
- FIG. 17 is a diagram illustrating a configuration of a wireless LAN system according to the first modification.
- 1st modification is a case where it is difficult for AP200 to communicate directly.
- the STA 100b belonging to the BSS 10a can communicate with the STA 100c belonging to the BSS 10b that is the OBSS, but the AP 200a cannot communicate with the AP 200b.
- the AP 200 exchanges interference control request frames with other APs 200 via the STA 100.
- the STA 100 in the first modification controls processing related to transfer of the interference control request frame. More specifically, when creating an interference control request frame, the AP 200 determines whether or not direct communication with the AP 200 of the OBSS can be performed. The designated STA 100c may be designated as RA (Receive Address).

- the AP 200a determines that communication with the OBSS AP 200b cannot be performed directly, and sets the header of the interference control request frame so as to pass through the STA 100b and the STA 100c.
- step S1508 the AP 200a transmits an interference control request frame, and the STA 100b receives the interference control request frame.

- step S1520 the AP 200b receives the interference control request frame, and grasps that the interference control is requested from the AP 200a. Then, the AP 200b determines whether or not a cooperative operation with the AP 200a belonging to the OBSS is possible. When determining that the cooperative operation is possible, the AP 200b performs interference control by changing the parameter information of the own BSS in step S1524. And AP200b produces
- step S1528 the AP 200b transmits an interference control request frame, and the STA 100c receives the interference control request frame.
