Abstract
본 발명은 이차전지용 음극 활물질 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 음극 활물질은 실리콘계 1차 입자들을 포함하고, 상기 실리콘계 1차 입자들의 입도 크기 분포는 D10 ≥ 50nm, D90 ≤ 150nm 를 갖는다. 상기 음극 활물질은 전지의 충전시 리튬화된 실리콘 입자에서 발생하는 인장 후프 응력(tensile hoop stress)을 억제 또는 감소시켜 상기 실리콘 입자의 부피 팽창으로 인한 크랙 및/또는 균열로부터 초래되는 비가역 반응을 억제하고, 이에 의해 전지의 수명과 용량을 향상시킬 수 있다.
