Definitions
- the present invention relates to an intubation device, and more particularly, to a disposable intubation device that can be easily intubated to perform artificial respiration to a patient.
- An intubation is performed in the trachea to perform artificial respiration to a patient who is under general anesthesia for surgery, an unconscious state due to an accident, or a serious patient having difficulty in self-breathing.
- the laryngoscope is conventionally used for intubation for artificial respiration.
- the laryngoscope is used to lay the patient down, turn his head down to insert the tube into the patient's trachea, and then insert it into the oral cavity to allow the operator to check the laryngeal vocal cords and intubate the tube between the vocal cords.
- it is very difficult to use the laryngoscope when the patient is conscious and it can be dangerous to tilt the head back when there is a problem with the patient's neck.
- Patients with small mouths and jaws or short necks can also be difficult to intubate using laryngoscopes.
- when using a laryngoscope even if the teeth are not strong people may be broken.
- An endoscope may be used to intubate instead of the laryngoscope.
- the endoscope is expensive and requires special dexterity and professional use to use the endoscope.
- the operator in order to intubate the patient's mouth using the laryngoscope, the operator holds the laryngoscope with one hand and performs intubation with the other hand. If bleeding occurs in the patient's oral cavity, or if there is an excessive amount of discharge in the patient's oral cavity, aspiration should be performed to remove foreign substances in the patient's mouth. In this case, the operator can not intubate while removing the foreign substance alone. Even when intubation is performed using an endoscope, the operator cannot remove the foreign body in the oral cavity while intubating the foreign body alone.
- laryngoscopes or endoscopes must be disinfected before being used for other patients. Disinfection of laryngoscopes or endoscopes can be time-consuming and expensive, and inadequate disinfection can lead to infection of other patients.
