- 1 and 3A show an example in which the antenna module 20 is arranged on the main board 10 with a space therebetween, but other arrangements are also possible. - the radiation characteristics of the antenna deteriorate. If the radiation element of a relatively low frequency antenna (low frequency antenna) is placed close to the ground conductor of a relatively high frequency antenna (high frequency antenna), the radiation characteristics of the low frequency antenna will deteriorate. Resulting in. In order to avoid degradation of radiation characteristics, it is preferable to dispose the low frequency antenna away from the ground conductor of the high frequency antenna. In Example 1, since not only the second ground conductor 23 but also the outer conductor 32 of the coaxial cable 30 is used as the parasitic element 42, a sufficient dimension as the parasitic element 42 can be secured.
- the resonance frequency of the parasitic element 42 can be adjusted by moving the first portion 35 connecting the outer conductor 32 to the first ground conductor 11 in the length direction of the coaxial cable 30. By arranging the parasitic element 42, the efficiency of the second antenna 40 can be increased.

- the broken line in FIG. 6 shows the return loss S11 of the second antenna 40 in the comparative example in which the external conductor 32 is not connected to the first ground conductor 11.
- a sufficiently small return loss S11 is realized in the frequency band of 2400 MHz to 2484 MHz and the frequency band of 5150 MHz to 5850 MHz used in the WiFi standard.
- the return loss S11 of the second antenna 40 in the embodiment is larger than the return loss S11 of the second antenna 40 in the comparative example, but this is of a size that causes no practical problem. .
- the embodiment it can be seen that a return loss S11 sufficiently smaller than that of the comparative example is realized in the frequency band of 2200 MHz to 3200 MHz.
- the second antenna 40 in the embodiment has a wider bandwidth than the second antenna 40 in the comparative example. This is because double resonance is generated by the parasitic element 42 (FIG. 1).
- the structure of the embodiment it is possible to widen the band, so that it is possible to absorb the deviation of the resonance frequency that may occur due to manufacturing variations and maintain stable communication.
- FIG. 7 shows the simulation results of the radiation efficiency of the second antenna 40 in the example and the second antenna 40 in the comparative example.
- the radiation efficiency is higher at frequencies of 2400 MHz, 2442 MHz, 2484 MHz, 5150 MHz, and 5500 MHz than the structure of the comparative example.
- the radiation efficiency of the structure of the example is lower than the radiation efficiency of the structure of the comparative example, but the difference is slight.
- the radiation efficiency of the second antenna 40 is improved as compared with the comparative example.
- the second antenna 40 can have a wider band and higher efficiency. Furthermore, it is possible to reduce the size of the antenna device including the first antenna 22 having a relatively high operating frequency and the second antenna 40 having a relatively low operating frequency.
- the first antenna 22 having a relatively high operating frequency operates in the 60 GHz band of the WiGig standard
- the second antenna 40 having a relatively low operating frequency is operated in the 2 GHz band and 5 GHz of the WiFi standard.
- An example of working with bands is shown.
- the operating frequencies of the first antenna 22 and the second antenna 40 are not limited to the above example. However, when the operating frequency of the first antenna 22 and the operating frequency of the second antenna 40 are close to each other, a sufficient effect of adopting the structure of the first embodiment cannot be obtained. When the operating frequency of the first antenna 22 is 10 times or more the operating frequency of the second antenna 40, the remarkable effect of the first embodiment can be obtained.
- the first antenna 22 includes the plurality of patch antennas 24 and the plurality of printed dipole antennas 25.
- an antenna having another configuration may be employed.
- the example in which the feeding element of the second antenna 40 is a monopole antenna has been described in the first embodiment, an antenna having another configuration may be adopted as the feeding element.
- FIG. 8 shows a schematic side view of the antenna device according to the second embodiment.
- the outer conductor 32 of the coaxial cable 30 is connected to the first ground conductor 11 via the impedance element 37 at the first location 35.
- FIG. 9 shows a plan view of the first portion 35.
- An opening 14 is provided in the first ground conductor 11.
- a land 15 is disposed inside the opening 14.
- the outer conductor 32 of the coaxial cable 30 is electrically short-circuited to the land 15 by the solder 34.
- One terminal of the impedance element 37 is connected to the land 15, and the other terminal is connected to the first ground conductor 11.
- the impedance element 37 an inductor or a capacitor is used. By adjusting the impedance value of the impedance element 37, the resonance frequency of the parasitic element 42 (FIG. 1) can be adjusted. When the inductive component of the impedance element 37 is increased, the resonance frequency is decreased, and when the capacitance component is increased, the resonance frequency is increased.
- the resonance frequency of the parasitic element 42 is the geometric shape and size of the second ground conductor 23 and the outer conductor 32, the first location 35, and the second location 36. It depends on the arrangement. It is not easy to change these after assembling the antenna device. Therefore, it is difficult to finely adjust the resonance frequency of the parasitic element 42 after assembly.
- the resonance frequency of the parasitic element 42 can be finely adjusted by adjusting the impedance of the impedance element 37.
- the change in the resonance frequency is small even if the impedance value of the impedance element 37 is changed.
- the operating frequency of the second antenna 40 is in the range of 1 GHz to 6 GHz, the method of adjusting the resonance frequency by the impedance element 37 is particularly effective.
