It will be appreciated that for this reason a stronger Bluetooth signal will be received by a mobile telephone 10 located in the front of the motor vehicle cabin than a mobile telephone located in the rear of the motor vehicle cabin.

In one example embodiment, in safe driver mode, the brightness of the screen of the mobile telephone is set to zero so that the driver cannot see that a message has been received.

  • the processor 20 may further implement an override mode whereby a series of puzzles are presented to the user via the display 18 and the user's responses received via the user interface 16.

  • the puzzle will for example take the form of blocks that need to be arranged in a specified manner with a pre-defined time-limit for the successful completion of the task. Failure to complete the task within the time-limit will disable the override mode for a pre-defined duration so as to prevent repeated unsuccessful attempts.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de sécurité s'appliquant à un téléphone mobile et comprenant une mémoire et un module de communication pour communiquer avec un réseau de communication mobile, et à des communications courte distance avec un système de communication à bord d'un véhicule à moteur. Une interface d'utilisateur est destinée à recevoir des entrées de l'utilisateur et un dispositif d'affichage est utilisé pour afficher des informations à l'utilisateur. Un processeur permet de commander le fonctionnement du système afin de déterminer la position du téléphone mobile dans l'habitacle du véhicule à moteur en i) comparant l'intensité d'un signal de communication à courte portée reçu via le module de communication avec des intensités de signal stockées dans la mémoire afin de déterminer ainsi si le téléphone mobile est situé à l'avant ou à l'arrière de l'habitacle du véhicule à moteur, et en ii) comparant l'intensité d'un champ magnétique reçu sur le côté gauche du téléphone mobile à une intensité d'un champ magnétique reçu sur le côté droit du téléphone mobile, si l'intensité reçue du champ magnétique est plus forte sur le côté gauche du téléphone mobile, déterminer que le téléphone mobile se trouve sur le côté gauche de l'habitacle du véhicule à moteur, et si l'intensité du champ magnétique reçu est plus forte sur le côté droit du téléphone mobile, déterminer que le téléphone mobile se trouve sur le côté droit de l'habitacle du véhicule à moteur. La position déterminée du téléphone mobile est ensuite utilisée afin de déterminer si le téléphone mobile est ou non le téléphone mobile du conducteur, et si le téléphone mobile est le téléphone mobile du conducteur, mettre le téléphone mobile en mode sécurité conducteur.
