L'invention concerne une pièce décorative (1) pour un véhicule automobile, en particulier un panneau de seuil de porte d'un véhicule automobile, comportant une source lumineuse (2) disposée en son intérieur ainsi que des orifices de sortie (3) sur la face avant (4) et une face arrière (6), la face arrière (6) pouvant être montée sur la carrosserie d'un véhicule automobile et la lumière (5) de la source lumineuse (2) pouvant sortir par les orifices d'ouverture (3). Pour parvenir à un effet décoratif, c'est-à-dire un effet lumineux, selon l'invention, un dispositif optique (13) est associé à la source lumineuse (2), celui-ci étant composé d'au moins un réflecteur (15) et d'au moins un diffuseur optique (14) associés l'un à l'autre, le dispositif optique (13) étant disposé entre la face avant (4) et la face arrière (6) et la source lumineuse (2) et le dispositif optique (13) étant couplés l'un à l'autre.
