상기 인바 합금은 기욤(Guillaume)이 1897년 발견하여 1920년 노벨상을 받은 이후 정밀 기계, 반도체 재료 등에 많이 활용되고 있다. 또한, 인바 합금은 니켈의 함량 변화 및 코발트 등의 제3의 합금 원소를 추가하는 등의 방법을 통해 다양한 합금 개발로 연결되어 그 활용 범위를 넓혀가고 있다.
이와 같은 철-니켈 합금은 다양한 방법에 의해 제조되고 있으나, 현재 주로 사용되고 있는 방법은 전통적인 냉간 압연법이다. 냉간 압연법을 사용하는 경우, 합금의 용해, 단조, 그 뒤 냉간 압연과 열처리를 반복하는 복잡한 공정을 거쳐야 하며, 또, 압연 공정은 대규모 설비를 필요로 하고 에너지 소비가 매우 큰 공정이다. 그리하여 두께가 얇은 철-니켈 합금 포일을 제조할수록 제조공정 단계가 복잡해짐은 물론, 크라운 등의 형상 결함이 많이 발생하고 실수율도 점점 떨어진다.
이와 같은 종래의 압연법에 의한 합금 포일 제조의 한계를 극복하기 위하여 최근 전기주조(electroforming)에 의한 철-니켈 합금 포일 제조에 관한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 전기주조에 의한 합금 포일의 제조는 드럼 또는 벨트 형식의 음극에 철-니켈 합금을 전착시킨 뒤 박리하여 포일을 얻는 방식으로서, 장치, 전해액, 공정 조건, 그리고 포일의 특성에 대한 분야로 연구가 이루어지고 있다.
이 중 전해액은 금속 포일의 조성 및 특성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자로 전해액의 제조 및 관리는 금속 포일 생산에서 아주 중요한 기술이다. 한편, 전기 주조를 통해 철-니켈 합금 포일을 연속으로 생산하는 경우 전해액의 조성, pH 등이 변하게 되는데, 이러한 조건은 정상상태로 일정하게 유지시켜 주는 것이 포일의 제품 품질을 균일하게 유지하는데 요구된다.
도금 또는 전기 주조가 진행되면 음극에서는 금속 이온의 전착이 이루어진다. 철, 니켈 이온의 표준 환원 전위는 모두 음(-)의 값을 가진다. 이는 표준 상태에서 수소 이온의 환원이 더 일어나기 쉬움을 의미한다. 전체 공급된 전자 중 금속이온의 환원에 사용되는 비율은 음극 효율로 표현되는데, 예를 들어, 철-니켈 합금 전착의 경우 대략 60~90% 정도의 음극 효율을 나타낸다.

도금 또는 전기 주조에서 사용되는 양극은 크게 불용성 양극과 가용성 양극으로 나누어질 수 있다. 통상 불용성 양극은 타이타늄 등의 안정적인 금속에 IrO2 등과 같은 층을 증착 또는 코팅하여 사용한다.
산성 용액 내에서 불용성 양극을 사용할 경우, 양극에서는 식 3에 나타낸 바와 같이 물이 분해되어 산소 기체가 발생하면서 자유 전자가 생성된다.

이 외에 양극 부근에서는 제일철 이온이 제이철 이온으로 산화되고, 또, 각종 유기 첨가제들의 분해가 일어나게 되는데, 상기 철 이온의 산화는 공정 조건 제어나 첨가제 첨가 등에 의해 억제하고, 분해된 유기 첨가제는 활성탄 등을 사용하여 걸러 제거하며, 분해되는 양만큼 계속해서 보충하게 된다.
불용성 양극에서는 상기 식 3과 같은 반응을 통해 생성된 자유 전자 중 일부 기체를 발생시킨다. 상기 식 3에 나타난 반응에서 생성되는 수소 이온의 일부만이 상기 식 2의 반응을 통해 환원되므로, 불용성 양극을 계속 사용할 경우 수소 이온의 농도는 계속 높아지게 된다. 금속 이온 역시 상기 식 1의 반응을 통해 계속해서 소모되므로 불용성 양극을 사용할 경우 금속 이온을 공급해주고 수소 이온은 다른 반응을 통해 환원시켜주어야 한다.
가용성 양극은 전기 주조를 시행하는 금속을 양극으로 사용하는 방법으로서, 식 (4)에 나타낸 바와 같이, 양극 자체가 녹으면서 자유 전자를 생성하며, 동시에 금속 이온을 공급한다.

합금 도금의 경우에는 한가지 금속으로 양극을 구성하고 나머지 금속은 시약을 통해 보충하거나, 용해 등의 방법으로 공급할 수 있으며, 양극 자체를 두 금속의 합금으로 설치해 두 금속 이온 모두를 양극에서 공급할 수 있다.
이와 같은 가용성 양극을 사용하는 경우, 가용성 양극의 효율은 거의 100%인데 반해 철-니켈 전기주조 공정의 음극 효율은 이에 미치지 못하므로, 가용성 양극을 계속 사용하는 경우 금속 이온의 농도는 높아지고 수소 이온의 농도는 낮아지게 된다.
이러한 전기도금에 의한 인바 합금 제조 방법을 이용하여 고강성 금속 포일이 획득될 수 있는 경우에는 관련 분야에서 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
이에 본 발명의 한 측면은 전기주조에 의해 금속 포일로서, 강성이 증가된 금속포일 및 그 제조방법을 제공한다.
본 발명은 강성이 높은 금속 포일을 제조하는 방법을 제공하고자 하는 것으서, 본 발명에서 제공되는 방법은 일 구현예로서, 전류의 인가 하에서 금속 이온을 포함하는 전해액을 음극 모판에 접촉시켜 상기 전해액 중의 금속 이온을 음극 모판 상에 전착시켜 금속층을 형성하는 단계 및 상기 모판 상의 금속층을 모판으로부터 박리하는 단계를 포함하며, 상기 전해액은 황산염 이외의 황 함유 화합물을 더 포함하며, 상기 황 함유 화합물로부터 유래된 황이 상기 금속이온의 전착과 함께 공석되어 황 함유 금속층을 형성하는 방법이다.
상기 금속 이온은 Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo 및 Fe로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 적어도 하나의 금속의 이온일 수 있다.
상기 황 함유 화합물은 수황화물 이온(HS-), o-벤조설파미드 이온(C7H5NO3S-) 또는 이들의 조합을 포함하는 화합물일 수 있다.
상기 금속층은 철-니켈 합금일 수 있으며, 나아가, 상기 전해액은 철 이온 1~40g/L 및 니켈 이온 5~80g/L를 포함하고, 철 이온/(철+니켈) 이온의 비율이 0.1~0.5인 것이 바람직하다.
상기 전해액은 상기 황 함유 화합물로부터 유래된 황 이온 농도가 10ppm 내지 8000ppm인 것이 바람직하다.
상기 전해액은 pH 1.0-5.0이고, 온도가 40-90℃이며, 상기 전해액에 1~80A/dm2의 전류밀도로 전류가 인가될 수 있다.
본 발명은 또한 황 함유 금속 포일을 제공하며, 상기 금속 포일은 황 70-1500ppm을 포함하는 전기주조에 의해 형성된 것이다.
상기 금속 포일은 Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo 및 Fe로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 금속이거나 이들 금속을 2종 이상 포함하는 합금일 수 있다. 또한, 상기 금속 포일은 인바, 퍼말로이, 인바 및 퍼말로이를 제외한 철-니켈 합금 또는 스테인리스의 합금일 수 있으며, 2 내지 100㎛의 두께를 가질 수 있다.
상기 금속 포일은 철-니켈의 합금 포일로서, 철과 니켈의 중량비가 20 내지 60:40 내지 80인 것이 바람직하다.
상기 금속 포일은 -1 내지 12ppm/K의 열팽창계수를 갖는 것일 수 있다.
상기 금속 포일은 700 내지 2000MPa의 항복강도를 갖는 것일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 금속 포일은 0.1 내지 7%의 연신율을 갖는 것일 수 있다.
나아가, 상기 금속 포일은 25에서 200℃까지의 가열/냉각 싸이클 중 1 내지 100ppm의 열복원율을 갖는 것일 수 있다.
상기 금속 포일은 -0.2 내지 20m 탄성곡률반경을 갖는 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명에 의하면, 전주(Electroforming) 방식으로 금속 포일을 제조하는 공정에 있어서 황을 공석시켜 강성이 증가된 고강성 금속 포일이 획득될 수 있으며, 그 결과 핸들링이 보다 용이하고 내구성이 향상된 금속 포일이 제공될 수 있다.
도 1은 본 발명에 사용될 수 있는 전기주조장치의 일 예를 개략적으로 나타낸 개략도이다.
이하, 본 발명의 바람직한 실시 형태를 설명한다. 그러나, 본 발명의 실시형태는 여러 가지 다른 형태로 변형될 수 있으며, 본 발명의 범위가 이하 설명하는 실시 형태로 한정되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명에 의하면, 전기주조(Electroforming) 방식으로 금속 포일을 제조하는 공정 중에 황을 공석시킴으로써 금속 포일의 강성을 증가시킬 수 있음을 확인하였는바, 이로부터 고강성 금속 포일을 획득하는 방법 및 이로부터 제조되는 고강성 금속 포일을 제공한다.
보다 상세하게, 본 발명은 얻고자 하는 금속 포일의 성분으로 제공되는 금속 이온을 포함하는 전해액을 음극 모판과 접촉시켜 전해액 중의 금속 이온을 상기 음극 모판 상에 전착시켜 금속 층을 형성하고, 상기 모판으로부터 금속층을 박리함으로써 금속 포일을 얻을 수 있다.
본 발명의 금속 포일의 제조방법은 전주(Electroforming), 즉 전기주조법에 의한 것으로, 전해조, 음극, 양극 및 전원을 구비한 전기주조장치를 이용하고, 상기 음극을 모판으로 하여 모판 상에 금속을 전착시킨 후, 상기 전착된 전착층을 모판으로부터 분리함으로써 박막의 금속 포일을 획득할 수 있는 방법이다.
이와 같은 금속 모판에 금속이온을 전착시킴으로써 금속 포일을 제조하는 방법은 도 1에 나타낸 바와 같은 전기분해의 원리를 이용하여 수행할 수 있다. 도 1에 나타낸 바와 같이, 전기주조장치(100)는 전해조(101) 내에 양극(Anode)(102) 및 음극(Cathode)(103)이 구비하며, 상기 양극(102)과 음극(103)을 소정의 간격을 유지한 상태에서 상기 양극(102) 및 음극(103)과 전기적으로 연결된 전원(104)으로부터 전류를 인가함으로써 수행할 수 있다.
이때, 상기 전해조(101) 내의 전해액에 포함된 금속 이온이 음극 표면에 전착됨으로써 금속층(1)을 형성하게 된다. 이와 같은 금속층(1)을 음극 표면으로부터 박리함으로써 목적하는 금속포일을 얻을 수 있다.
본 발명에 있어서 적용될 수 있는 전기주조장치는 특별히 한정하는 것이 아니며, 금속 포일을 전기주조법에 의해 제조할 수 있는 것이라면 어떠한 것도 사용할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 강판 표면에 전기도금하는 방법과 같이 전류의 인가 하에 수평으로 공급되는 강판을 모판으로 하여 모판 표면에 전해액을 접촉시킴으로써 모판 표면에 금속층을 전착에 의해 형성할 수 있음은 물론, 종래 금속 포일의 제조에 일반적으로 사용되는 것으로서, 전류 인가 하에 음극 드럼 표면을 전해액과 접촉시킴으로써 드럼 표면에 금속 층을 형성하고, 형성된 금속층을 연속적으로 박리함으로써 금속포일을 제조할 수 있다.
본 발명에 의해 얻고자 하는 금속 포일은 최소 수 ㎛에서 최대 수백㎛의 두께를 갖는 박막으로서, 장비 내 이송 과정 중에 찍힘, 구겨짐, 처짐 현상 등으로 인하여 금속 포일 제품에 불량이 발생하거나 주변 장비와 간섭하여 롤 등 관련 장비에 영구적인 손상을 일으킬 수 있고, 금속 포일의 가공 중에 포일이 찢어지는 경우도 발생하는 등, 그 취급이 극히 용이하지 않으며, 이로 인해 작업성 저하를 초래할 수 있다.
이에 본 발명은 금속 포일의 특성은 그대로 유지하면서, 금속 포일의 강성을 증대시킴으로써 금속 포일의 작업성 등 취급 용이성을 향상시키고자 한다. 본 발명자들의 연구에 따르면, 금속 포일에 황을 소량 첨가하는 경우, 그 금속 포일의 강성이 현저히 향상되어, 취급 용이성을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.
금속 포일에 포함되는 황의 공급원으로서 황 함유 화합물을 전해액에 포함하여 상기와 같은 전기주조에 의해 금속 포일을 제조하면, 전해액 중에 포함된 황 함유 화합물로부터 황이 금속이온의 전착 중에 공석되어 금속 포일 중에 흡착될 수 있다.
이때 상기 금속층을 전착시키는 단계에 있어서, 금속의 전착과 황의 공석은 동시에 진행되는 공정을 의미하는 것으로 이와 같은 전착 단계에 의해 황을 포함하는 강성이 우수한 금속층이 획득될 수 있는 것이다.
본 발명에 있어서, 전해액은 얻고자 하는 금속 포일의 특성에 따라 목적하는 금속 이온을 포함한다. 상기 전해액 중에 포함되는 금속이온은 특별히 한정하지 않으나, Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo, Fe 등의 이온을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 사용될 수 있는 상기 금속 이온은 원하는 금속을 전착시켜 금속층으로 획득하기 위한 것으로, 예를 들어 상기 금속이 철-니켈 합금인 경우 상기 금속 이온은 황산철, 염화철, 질산철 및 설파민산철로 구성되는 그룹으로부터 선택된 적어도 일종으로부터 공급되는 철 이온; 및 황산니켈, 염화니켈, 질산니켈 및 설파민산니켈로 구성되는 그룹으로부터 선택된 적어도 일종으로부터 공급되는 니켈 이온은 포함하는 금속 이온의 혼합물일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 금속이 철-니켈 합금인 경우 상기 철 이온은 염화철, 질산철, 황산철, 설파민산철 등의 염 형태로부터 녹여서 획득되거나, 또는 전해철 및 철 파우더를 염산이나 황산에 녹여서 획득할 수 있다. 한편, 상기 니켈 이온은 염화니켈, 질산니켈, 황산니켈, 설파민산니켈 등의 염 형태로부터 녹여서 획득하거나 또는 전해니켈 및 니켈 파우더를 녹여서 획득할 수 있다.
이때, 상기 전해액은 금속 이온과 함께, 금속 포일 중에 황의 공석을 위해 황 함유 화합물을 포함하는 것이 바람직하다. 상기 황 함유 화합물로부터, 즉 도금 용액으로 황산염을 제외한 황 함유 화합물 및 금속 이온을 포함하며, 상기 황은 금속 포일에 강성을 부여하기 위해 첨가되는 것이다.
한편, 상기 황 함유 화합물은 수황화물 이온(HS-), 하기 화학식 (1)로 표현되는 o-벤조설파미드 이온(C7H5NO3S-) 또는 이들의 조합을 포함하는 화합물을 사용할 수 있다. 다만 황산염(SO4 2-)의 경우에는 황의 공석을 야기할 수 없으므로, 본 발명의 황 공급원은 황산염이 아닌 것을 이용한다.

상기 전해액은 황 함유 화합물로부터 유도된 총 황의 농도가 10ppm 내지 8000ppm인 것이 바람직하다. 상기 전해액에 황의 농도가 10ppm 미만으로 포함되는 경우에는 결과적으로 획득되는 금속 포일에 황이 공석되더라도 충분히 포함될 수 없어 강성 증대의 효과를 거의 얻을 수 없으며, 상기 전해액에 황의 농도가 8000ppm을 초과하여 포함되는 경우에는 결과적으로 획득되는 금속 포일에 황이 과다하게 포함되어 금속 포일이 지나치게 브리틀(brittle)하게 되고, 제조 공정 중 열에 의한 취성이 발생할 수 있으며, 또한 오히려 금속 포일의 유연성이 저하될 수 있어 이로 인해 사용 중 파단이 발생할 수 있다.
한편, 상기 인바나 퍼말로이 등과 같은 철-니켈 합금을 제조하는 경우 특히 상기 전해액은 철 이온을 1 내지 40g/L 농도로, 그리고 니켈 이온을 5 내지 80g/L의 농도로 포함하는 것이 바람직하다. 이때 철 이온 농도와 (철+니켈) 이온의 농도의 비율은 0.1 내지 0.5를 유지하는 것이 바람직하다.
나아가, 본 발명의 전해액은 pH 안정제, 전도 보조제 및 철 환원제로 이루어진 그룹으로 선택된 적어도 하나를 추가로 포함할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 pH 안정제 및 전도 보조제를 추가로 포함할 수 있다. 이와 같이 상기 전해액에 pH 안정제가 포함되는 경우에는 전해액의 pH의 변화를 안정하게 하는 완충 작용을 수행할 수 있으며, 한편 상기 전도 보조제가 추가로 포함되는 경우에는 저항의 편차가 적어지므로 보다 균일한 금속층을 모판 표면에 형성할 수 있다.
본 발명의 전해액이 상술한 바와 같이 pH 안정제 및 전도 보조제를 함께 추가로 포함하는 경우, 바람직하게 상기 pH 안정제는 5 내지 40g/L의 농도로 포함되고, 상기 전도 보조제는 5 내지 40g/의 농도로 포함된다. 한편, 상기 철 환원제는 0.2 내지 3.5g/L의 농도로 포함될 수 있다.
한편, 상기 pH 안정제로는 붕산, 시트릭산 등이 사용될 수 있고, 상기 전도보조제로는 염화 나트륨, 황산 나트륨 등이 사용될 수 있으나, 다만 상기 pH 안정제 및 전도 보조제는 이에 제한되는 것은 아니며 당해 기술분야에 알려진 어떠한 pH 안정제 및 전도 보조제를 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명의 고강성 금속 포일의 제조방법에 있어서, 상기 전해액에 전류를 인가하여 상기 모판 표면에 금속을 전착시키고 황을 공석시켜 황을 함유하는 금속층을 형성함에 있어서 상기 전해액은 pH 1.0 내지 5.0이고, 40 내지 90℃의 온도를 갖는 것이 바람직하며, 전류 밀도 1 내지 80A/dm2를 갖도록 전류가 인가되는 것이 바람직하다.
한편, 본 발명의 다른 견지에 의하면 황 70 내지 1500ppm을 포함하는 고강성 금속 포일이 획득될 수 있다. 상기 금속 포일 내 황의 함량이 70ppm 미만으로 첨가되는 경우에는 금속 포일에 충분한 강성을 부여할 수 없어 작업성 향상 효과를 얻을 수 없으며, 1500ppm을 초과하는 경우에는 금속 포일이 지나치게 브리틀(brittle)하게 되고, 제조 공정중 열에 의한 취성이 발생할 수 있으며, 또한 유연성이 저하될 수 있고, 이로 인해 사용 중 파단이 발생할 수 있는바, 상기 범위의 함량으로 포함하는 것이 바람직하다.
상기 본 발명의 고강성 금속 포일은 예를 들어, 100 내지 1500ppm, 100 내지 1300ppm, 150 내지 1500ppm, 150 내지 1200ppm, 또는 300 내지 1200ppm의 함량으로 황을 포함할 수 있다. 상기와 같은 고강성 금속 포일은 상술한 바와 같은 본 발명의 고강성 금속 포일의 제조방법에 의해서 획득될 수 있다.
상기 황은 금속 포일에 70 내지 1500ppm의 함량으로 포함됨으로써, 본 발명의 금속 포일은 유연성을 가지면서도 700 내지 2000MPa의 높은 항복 강도를 가질 수 있으며, 이로 인해 고강도이며 작업성이 우수한 금속 포일이 획득될 수 있다.
본 발명에 있어서 상기 유연성이란 금속 포일이 소성 변형에 의해 영구적으로 손상되지 않고, 더 작은 탄성곡률반경(Radius of curvature), 즉 탄성거동을 보이는 최대 한계 휨 반경을 가지며, 이와 함께 더 높은 항복강도 및 내-덴트(dentresistance) 특성을 갖는 것을 의미한다.
본 발명의 황을 포함하는 금속 포일은 종래의 압연에 의해 제조되는 금속포일과는 구별되는 것이다. 종래 황은 강재 중에 포함되는 경우 강을 브리틀하게 하는 것으로 알려져 있었으며, 이로 인해 강 조성 중에 황을 최대 50ppm 이하로 관리하고 있다. 그러나, 상기한 바와 같이 상기와 같은 정도의 황을 포함하는 것으로 인하여는 금속 포일에 고강도를 발현할 수 없다. 따라서, 압연에 의해 얻어진 금속 포일은 일반적으로 본 발명에서와 같이 70ppm 이상 정도의 황을 포함하지 않는다.
나아가, 본 발명에서와 같은 다량의 황을 포함하는 경우에는 압연에 의해서는 초극박의 금속 포일을 제조할 수 없다. 즉, 황을 다량 포함하는 경우, 강성이 증대되고, 이로 인해 강을 압연하여 금속 포일로 제조하기가 극히 어려우며, 이로 인해 두께 균일도가 우수한 금소 포일을 제조할 수 없게 된다. 나아가, 이러한 고강성의 강재를 압연하여 금속 포일을 제조하는 경우에는 오히려 압연 롤의 손상을 가하여 설비 비용 증대를 초래하게 될 뿐이다.
따라서, 압연에 의해 제조된 금속포일은 본 발명에서와 같은 높은 함량의 황을 포함하지 않음은 물론, 황을 다량 포함함으로 인한 압연 곤란성 및 설비 손상 등의 문제로 인하여 황을 다량 포함하는 고강도 금속 포일을 제조할 수 없음은 물론, 황을 포함하는 경우에 나타나는 부정적인 효과로 인해 황의 첨가에 대한 필요성 조차 인식하지 못하였다.
본 발명의 금속 포일은 전기주조에 의해 제조된 것이다. 전기주조에 의해 제조된 금속 포일은 압연에 의해 제조된 금속 포일과는 그 표면특성을 관찰함으로써 구별할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 압연에 의한 금속 포일은 압연 롤에 의한 압연 흔이 존재하며, 금속 포일의 양면이 동일하거나 유사한 표면 특성을 갖는다. 그러나, 본 발명의 전기주조에 의해 얻어진 금속 포일은 전극에 전착된 면(전착면)은 전극의 표면 특성이 전사되는 반면, 전해액에 노출된 면(용액면)은 금속 입자의 증착에 의해 형성되는 것으로서, 동글동글한 입자 특성을 나타낸다.
또한, 압연에 의한 금속 포일은 수십㎛ 크기의 그레인 사이즈가 관찰되나, 전기주조에 의해 형성된 금속 포일은 열처리 등에 의해 그레인 사이즈가 증가될 수 있으나, 열처리 전은 통상 10nm 내외의 그레인 사이즈를 갖는다.
본 발명의 금속 포일은 통상 2 내지 100㎛ 정도의 초극박재로서 황을 다량 포함하고, 이로 인해 고강성을 가짐으로써 압연 등과 같은 후처리가 용이하지 않으며, 따라서 그 표면특성은 유지될 것이다. 이와 같이, 본 발명의 황을 포함하는 전기주조에 의해 제조된 금속 포일은 압연에 의해 제조된 금속 포일과는 구별되는 것임을 이해할 것이다.
본 발명에서 제공하는 금속 포일은 전해액에 포함된 금속 이온의 종류에 따라 다양한 금속 포일일 수 있는 것으로서 특별히 한정하지 않으나, 예를 들어, Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo, Fe 등의 금속 포일일 수 있으며, 또한, 이들의 2 이상의 합금 포일일 수 있다. 이러한 합금 포일로는 예를 들어, 스테인리스일 수 있고, 철과 니켈의 합금일 수 있다.
상기 합금은 철-니켈 합금인 것이 바람직하며, 상기 철-니켈 합금은 철 20 내지 99.9중량% 및 니켈 0.1 내지 80중량%를 포함하는 것이 더욱 바람직하다. 이러한 철-니켈의 합금으로는 예를 들어, 인바(Invar), 퍼말로이(Permalloy) 또는 상기 인바 및 퍼말로이 이외의 철-니켈 합금일 수 있다.
상기 금속 포일이 철-니켈 합금인 경우 상기 금속 포일은 금속의 전체 중량을 기준으로 니켈 0.1 내지 80중량% 및 철 20 내지 99.9중량%; 황 70 내지 1500ppm; 및 기타 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 것이 바람직하며, 더욱 바람직하게는 상기 금속포일이 철-니켈 합금인 경우 상기 금속 포일은 금속의 전체 중량을 기준으로 니켈 20 내지 60 중량%, 철 80 내지 40중량%, 황 70 내지 1500ppm 및 기타 불가피한 불순물을 포함하는 것이다.
한편, 본 발명에 의해 제공되는 상기 금속 포일은 사용되는 용도에 따라 전착량을 조절함으로써 다양한 두께의 금속 포일을 제조할 수 있는 것으로서, 그 두께는 특별히 한정하지 않으며, 예를 들어 2 내지 100㎛의 두께를 가질 수 있다.
나아가, 본 발명에 의해 획득되는 금속 포일은 하기와 같은 물성 중 적어도 하나 이상의 물성을 나타내는 것으로, 즉 본 발명의 금속 포일은 열팽창계수가 -1내지 12ppm/K, 항복강도가 700 내지 2000MPa, 연신율이 0.1 내지 7%, 25℃에서 200℃까지의 가열/냉각 싸이클 중 열복원율, 즉 싸이클 전후 길이 치수 차이가 1 내지 100ppm, 및/또는 탄성곡률반경이 0.2 내지 20mm인 것이다. 바람직하게는 상기 언급된 모든 물성을 갖는 것으로, 본 발명에 의하면 이와 같이 우수한 특성의 금속 포일을 획득할 수 있다.
이하, 구체적인 실시예를 통해 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명한다.
하기 실시예는 본 발명의 이해를 돕기 위한 예시에 불과하며, 본 발명의 범위가 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
실시예 1
Fe 이온 8g/L, Ni 이온 20g/L, pH 안정제 10g/L, 메틸-2-벤젠설폰아미드 500ppm 및 전도보조제 25g/L를 포함하며, pH 2.5이고, 온도 60℃인 전해액에 전류를 전류 밀도 8A/dm2로 되도록 인가하여 Fe-Ni계 합금을 음극에 전착시키고, 이를 박리하여 Fe-Ni 합금포일을 제조하였다.
상기 Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중에 포함된 황 함량을 측정하였는바, Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중의 황 농도는 150ppm이었다.
나아가, 상기 Fe-Ni 합금포일의 항복강도를 측정하였는바, 1220MPa이었다.
실시예 2
Fe 이온 8g/L, Ni 이온 20g/L, pH 안정제 10g/L, 메틸-2-아미노벤조티아졸 2300ppm 및 전도보조제 25g/L를 포함하며, pH 2.5이고, 온도 60℃인 전해액에 전류를 전류 밀도 8A/dm2로 되도록 인가하여 Fe-Ni계 합금을 음극에 전착시키고, 이를 박리하여 Fe-Ni 합금포일을 제조하였다.
상기 Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중에 포함된 황 함량을 측정하였는바, Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중의 황 농도는 750ppm이었다.
나아가, 상기 Fe-Ni 합금포일의 항복강도를 측정하였는바, 1380MPa이었다.
실시예 3
Fe 이온 8g/L, Ni 이온 20g/L, pH 안정제 10g/L, 메틸-2-아미노벤조티아졸 2300ppm, 메틸-2-벤젠설폰아미드 2000ppm 및 전도보조제 25g/L를 포함하며, pH 2.5이고, 온도 60℃인 전해액에 전류를 전류 밀도 8A/dm2로 되도록 인가하여 Fe-Ni계 합금을 음극에 전착시키고, 이를 박리하여 Fe-Ni 합금포일을 제조하였다.
상기 Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중에 포함된 황 함량을 측정하였는바, Fe-Ni 합금 포일 중의 황 농도는 1200ppm이었다.
나아가, 상기 Fe-Ni 합금포일의 항복강도를 측정하였는바, 1600MPa이었다.
비교예 1
Fe 이온 8g/L, Ni 이온 20g/L, pH 안정제 10g/L, 및 전도보조제 25g/L를 포함하며, pH 2.5이고, 온도 60℃인 전해액에 전류를 전류 밀도 8A/dm2로 되도록 인가하여 Fe-Ni계 합금을 음극에 전착시키고, 이를 박리하여 Fe-Ni 합금포일을 제조하였다.
그 결과 획득되는 금속 포일 중 황의 농도는 30ppm 이하였고, 이때 항복강도는 550MPa로 측정되었다.
상기 실시예 1 및 2에서 확인할 수 있는 바와 같이, 본 발명에 의해 획득되는 금속 포일의 경우 비교예 1에 비하여 현저하게 높은 항복 강도를 가지며, 따라서 본 발명에 의하면 고강성의 금속 포일이 획득될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
한편, 비교예 1에서 전해액에 별도의 황 함유 화합물을 첨가하지 않았음에도 불구하고 미량의 황이 Fe-Ni 합금포일에서 검출되었는데, 이는 철 및 니켈 공급원 중에 불순물로 포함되어 있거나, 기타 첨가제 중에 포함된 불순물로부터 유래한 것으로서, 이에 의해서는 본 발명이 목적하는 강성 증대 효과를 얻을 수 없음을 알 수 있다.
이상에서 본 발명의 실시예에 대하여 상세하게 설명하였지만 본 발명의 권리 범위는 이에 한정되는 것은 아니고, 청구범위에 기재된 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 벗어나지 않는 범위 내에서 다양한 수정 및 변형이 가능하다는 것은 당 기술분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게는 자명할 것이다.

Claims (17)

  1. 전류의 인가 하에서 금속 이온을 포함하는 전해액을 음극 모판에 접촉시켜 상기 전해액 중의 금속 이온을 음극 모판 상에 전착시켜 금속층을 형성하는 단계; 및
    상기 모판 상의 금속층을 모판으로부터 박리하는 단계
    를 포함하며, 상기 전해액은 황산염 이외의 황 함유 화합물을 포함하며, 상기 황 함유 화합물로부터 유래된 황이 상기 금속이온의 전착과 함께 공석되어 황 함유 금속층을 형성하는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금속 이온은 Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo 및 Fe로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 적어도 하나의 금속의 이온인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 황 함유 화합물은 수황화물 이온(HS-), o-벤조설파미드 이온(C7H5NO3S-) 또는 이들의 조합을 포함하는 화합물인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금속층은 철-니켈 합금인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금속층은 철-니켈 합금이며, 상기 전해액은 철 이온 1 내지 40g/L 및 니켈 이온 5 내지 80g/L를 포함하고, 철 이온/(철+니켈) 이온의 비율이 0.1 내지 0.5인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 황 함유 화합물로부터 도출되는 상기 전해액 내 총 황이온 농도는 10 내지 8000ppm인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전해액은 pH 1.0 내지 5.0이고, 온도가 40 내지 90℃이며, 1 내지 80A/dm2의 전류밀도로 전류가 인가되는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일 제조방법.
  8. 황 70 내지 1500ppm을 포함하는 전기주조에 의해 형성된 황 함유 금속 포일.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속포일은 Ti, Cu, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo 및 Fe로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 금속이거나 이들 금속을 2종 이상 포함하는 합금인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 합금은 인바, 퍼말로이, 인바 및 퍼말로이를 제외한 철-니켈 합금 또는 스테인리스인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  11. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 철-니켈의 합금 포일이고, 철과 니켈의 중량비가 20 내지 60:40 내지 80이며, 황 70 내지 1500ppm을 포함하는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  12. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 2 내지 100㎛의 두께를 갖는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  13. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 -1 내지 12ppm/K의 열팽창계수를 갖는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  14. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 700 내지 2000 MPa의 항복강도를 갖는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  15. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 0.1 내지 7%의 연신율을 갖는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  16. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 25℃에서 200℃까지의 가열/냉각 싸이클 중 1 내지 100ppm의 열복원율을 갖는 것인 황 함유 금속 포일.
  17. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 금속 포일은 -0.2 내지 20m 탄성곡률반경을 갖는 황 함유 금속 포일.
