第1の局面の発明は、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する複数の太陽電池セルと、前記複数の太陽電池セルの第1の主面側に設けられる表面側透明保護部材と、前記表面側透明保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる表面側透明充填材層と、前記複数の太陽電池セルの第2の主面側に設けられる裏面側保護部材と、前記裏面側保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側白色充填材層と、前記裏面側白色充填材層と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側透明充填材層とを備え、前記太陽電池セルの前記第2の主面の端部近傍における前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みが、隣接する前記太陽電池セル間の領域における前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みより薄い。
第2の局面の発明は、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する複数の太陽電池セルと、前記複数の太陽電池セルの第1の主面側に設けられる表面側透明保護部材と、前記表面側透明保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる表面側透明充填材層と、前記複数の太陽電池セルの第2の主面側に設けられる裏面側保護部材と、前記裏面側保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側白色充填材層と、前記裏面側白色充填材層と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側透明充填材層とを備え、前記太陽電池セルの前記第2の主面の端部近傍における前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みが、前記太陽電池セルの前記第2の主面と前記裏面側白色充填材層とで挟まれる領域の前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みより薄い。
本発明に係る太陽電池モジュールによれば、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
以下では、本発明の実施の形態に係る太陽電池モジュールについて、図面を用いて詳細に説明する。以下、好ましい実施形態について説明する。但し、以下の実施形態は単なる例示であり、本発明は以下の実施形態に限定されるものではない。したがって、以下の実施形態で示される形状、材料、構成要素、構成要素の配置及び接続形態などは、一例であり、本発明を限定する趣旨ではない。よって、以下の実施形態における構成要素のうち、本発明の最上位概念を示す独立請求項に記載されていない構成要素については、任意の構成要素として説明される。
また、各図面において、実質的に同一の機能を有する部材は同一の符号で参照する場合がある。
図1は、太陽電池モジュールの一例を示す模式的平面図である。図1に示すように、太陽電池モジュール1は、複数の太陽電池セル10を備えている。太陽電池セル10は、例えば、単結晶シリコン基板、及び多結晶シリコン基板などの結晶系シリコン基板を用いた太陽電池セルである。本実施形態では、単結晶シリコン基板と非晶質シリコン層との間に、実質的に真性な非晶質シリコン層を挟み、その界面での欠陥を低減し、ヘテロ接合界面の特性を改善した太陽電池セルを用いている。
太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11(図2に示す)には、集電極3が形成されている。また、図示しないが、本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11と対向する第2の主面12(図2に示す)にも集電極が形成されている。第1の主面11の集電極3及び第2の主面12の集電極は、フィンガー電極と、フィンガー電極と交差するバスバー電極とから構成されていてもよいし、フィンガー電極のみから構成されていてもよい。第1の主面11の集電極3及び第2の主面12の集電極の上には、配線材4が電気的に接続される。
y方向に配列された太陽電池セル10は、配線材4により、隣接する太陽電池セル10間で電気的に接続されている。配線材4により電気的に接続された複数の太陽電池セル10は、太陽電池ストリングス20を構成している。x方向に配列された太陽電池ストリングス20は、y方向における一方端側に配置された接続配線21により電気的に接続されている。太陽電池ストリングス20のy方向における他方端側では、太陽電池ストリングス20に出力配線23が接続されている。太陽電池モジュール1は、接続配線21及び出力配線23により電気的に接続された複数の太陽電池ストリングス20を含んでいる。
(第1の実施形態)
図2は、第1の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。図2に示すように、太陽電池モジュール1は、複数の太陽電池セル10と、表面側透明保護部材13と、裏面側保護部材15と、表面側透明充填材層14と、裏面側白色充填材層16と、裏面側透明充填材層17とを備えている。なお、図2~図6において、集電極3及び配線材4は図示を省略している。
図2は、第1の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。図2に示すように、太陽電池モジュール1は、複数の太陽電池セル10と、表面側透明保護部材13と、裏面側保護部材15と、表面側透明充填材層14と、裏面側白色充填材層16と、裏面側透明充填材層17とを備えている。なお、図2~図6において、集電極3及び配線材4は図示を省略している。
複数の太陽電池セル10は、第1の主面11及び第2の主面12を有している。本実施形態では、第1の主面11が受光面であり、第2の主面12が裏面である。上述のように、本実施形態の太陽電池セル10は、第1の主面11及び第2の主面12のそれぞれに、集電極が形成されている。したがって、本実施形態の太陽電池セル10は、裏面である第2の主面12からの受光も可能な太陽電池セルである。
表面側透明保護部材13は、複数の太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11側に設けられている。裏面側保護部材15は、複数の太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12側に設けられている。表面側透明充填材層14は、表面側透明保護部材13と複数の太陽電池セル10との間に設けられている。裏面側白色充填材層16は、裏面側保護部材15と複数の太陽電池セル10との間に設けられている。裏面側透明充填材層17は、裏面側白色充填材層16と複数の太陽電池セル10との間に設けられている。
表面側透明保護部材13は、ガラス板、アクリル板、ポリカーボネート板などの透明基材から構成することができ、好ましくは、ガラス板から構成される。裏面側保護部材15は、樹脂シート、樹脂フィルムなどから構成することができる。裏面側保護部材15は、金属層や無機酸化物層などをラミネートした樹脂シート及び樹脂フィルムのように、複数の層から構成されていてもよい。表面側透明充填材層14及び裏面側透明充填材層17は、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)などの架橋性樹脂や、ポリオレフィンなどの非架橋性樹脂などの透明性を有する樹脂から構成することができる。裏面側白色充填材層16は、エチレン・酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)などの架橋性樹脂や、ポリオレフィンなどの非架橋性樹脂などの樹脂に、酸化チタンなどの白色顔料を含有させることにより構成することができる。
裏面側白色充填材層16を設けることにより、表面側透明保護部材13から入射し、太陽電池セル10間を通過した光を裏面側白色充填材層16の表面で反射し、再び太陽電池セル10に入射させることができる。このため、裏面側白色充填材層16を設けることにより光の利用効率を高めることができる。
太陽電池セル10は、表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側透明充填材層17とに挟まれることにより封止されている。裏面側透明充填材層17を設けずに、太陽電池セル10を表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側白色充填材層16とで挟み、太陽電池セル10を封止することが考えられる。しかしながら、表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側白色充填材層16との密着性は、表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側透明充填材層17との密着性に比べ低くなる。このため、太陽電池セル10を表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側白色充填材層16とで挟み封止する場合、封止性が低下する。本実施形態では、裏面側透明充填材層17を設けることにより、太陽電池セル10を表面側透明充填材層14と裏面側透明充填材層17とで挟み、太陽電池セル10の封止性を高めている。
上述のように、太陽電池セル10間を通過した光は、裏面側白色充填材層16の表面で反射される。この反射光は、太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11から太陽電池セル10内に入射するとともに、第2の主面12からも太陽電池セル10内に入射する。一般に、裏面である第2の主面12で受光した場合の光電変換効率は、受光面である第1の主面11で受光した場合の光電変換効率より低い。したがって、上記反射光を、第2の主面12から入射させるよりも、第1の主面11から入射させた方が、出力特性を向上させることができる。
本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2より薄くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。このため、裏面側白色充填材層16の表面で反射された光が、厚みt1の部分を通過しにくくなっている。したがって、本実施形態によれば、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光が第1の主面11から入射する。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。なお、「第2の主面12の端部12a近傍」における「近傍」は、厚みt1を規定するy方向の位置が、端部12aからずれていてもよいことを意味する。例えば、厚みt1を規定するy方向の位置は、太陽電池セル10の内側にずれていてもよい。
また、本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12と裏面側白色充填材層16とで挟まれる領域の前記裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt3より薄くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。つまり、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、端部12a近傍を除く領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みより薄くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面及び第2の局面に従う実施形態である。
なお、厚みt2及び厚みt3は、該当する領域における厚みの平均値であってもよいし、該当する領域の中心部の厚みであってもよい。
(第2の実施形態)
図3は、第2の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍の下方における裏面側白色充填材層16の領域に、凸部17aが形成されている。凸部17aが形成されることにより、本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。すなわち、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2より薄くなっている。このため、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光が第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
図3は、第2の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍の下方における裏面側白色充填材層16の領域に、凸部17aが形成されている。凸部17aが形成されることにより、本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。すなわち、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2より薄くなっている。このため、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光が第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
なお、本実施形態でも、上記厚みt1が、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12と裏面側白色充填材層16とで挟まれる領域の裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt3より薄くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面及び第2の局面に従う実施形態である。
(第3の実施形態)
図4は、第3の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍の下方における裏面側白色充填材層16の領域に、断面が円弧状である凸部17bが形成されている。凸部17bが形成されることにより、本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。すなわち、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2より薄くなっている。このため、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光を第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
図4は、第3の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍の下方における裏面側白色充填材層16の領域に、断面が円弧状である凸部17bが形成されている。凸部17bが形成されることにより、本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。すなわち、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12の端部12a近傍における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt1が、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2より薄くなっている。このため、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光を第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
なお、本実施形態でも、上記厚みt1が、太陽電池セル10の第2の主面12と裏面側白色充填材層16とで挟まれる領域の前記裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt3より薄くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面及び第2の局面に従う実施形態である。
(第4の実施形態)
図5は、第4の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2が、厚みt1及び厚みt3より厚くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。したがって、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。なお、本実施形態では、厚みt1と厚みt3とは、ほぼ同程度の厚みである。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面に従う実施形態である。
図5は、第4の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2が、厚みt1及び厚みt3より厚くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。したがって、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっている。なお、本実施形態では、厚みt1と厚みt3とは、ほぼ同程度の厚みである。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面に従う実施形態である。
本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっているので、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光を第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。このように、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっていれば、厚みt1が厚みt3より薄くなっていなくてもよい。
(第5の実施形態)
図6は、第5の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2が、厚みt1及び厚みt3より厚くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。具体的には、図6に示すように、裏面側透明充填材層17の上面の位置が、太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11の位置とほぼ同じになるように、太陽電池セル10が裏面側透明充填材層17に埋め込まれた構造になっている。
図6は、第5の実施形態の太陽電池モジュールの図1に示すA-A線に沿う模式的断面図である。本実施形態では、隣接する太陽電池セル10間の領域における裏面側透明充填材層17の厚みt2が、厚みt1及び厚みt3より厚くなるように裏面側透明充填材層17が形成されている。具体的には、図6に示すように、裏面側透明充填材層17の上面の位置が、太陽電池セル10の第1の主面11の位置とほぼ同じになるように、太陽電池セル10が裏面側透明充填材層17に埋め込まれた構造になっている。
なお、本実施形態では、厚みt1と厚みt3とは、ほぼ同程度の厚みである。したがって、本実施形態は、第1の局面に従う実施形態である。
本実施形態においても、厚みt1が厚みt2より薄くなっているので、第1の実施形態と同様に、反射光が第2の主面12に入射するのを抑制することができ、より多くの反射光を第1の主面11から入射させることができる。したがって、出力特性をさらに向上させることができる。
上記各実施形態では、図2~図6を参照して、y方向に隣接している太陽電池セル10間について説明しているが、x方向に隣接している太陽電池セル10間についても同様である。すなわち、太陽電池ストリングス20内で隣接している太陽電池セル10間のみならず、隣接する太陽電池ストリングス20間で隣接している太陽電池セル10間においても本発明が適用される。
以上、本発明に係る太陽電池モジュールについて、上記実施形態に基づいて説明したが、本発明は、上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。実施形態に対して当業者が思いつく各種変形を施して得られる形態や、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で実施形態における構成要素及び機能を任意に組み合わせることで実現される形態も本発明に含まれる。

- 第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する複数の太陽電池セルと、
前記複数の太陽電池セルの第1の主面側に設けられる表面側透明保護部材と、
前記表面側透明保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる表面側透明充填材層と、
前記複数の太陽電池セルの第2の主面側に設けられる裏面側保護部材と、
前記裏面側保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側白色充填材層と、
前記裏面側白色充填材層と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる裏面側透明充填材層とを備え、
前記太陽電池セルの前記第2の主面の端部近傍における前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みが、隣接する前記太陽電池セル間の領域における前記裏面側透明充填材層の厚みより薄い、太陽電池モジュール。 - 第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する複数の太陽電池セルと、
前記複数の太陽電池セルの第1の主面側に設けられる表面側透明保護部材と、
前記表面側透明保護部材と前記複数の太陽電池セルとの間に設けられる表面側透明充填材層と、
