Abstract
リアクタ(100)は、反応流体が流通する複数の反応側流路(210)と、反応側流路(210)内に配され、反応流体の反応を促進させる触媒(触媒構造体)と、反応側流路(210)と交互に積層されるとともに、熱媒体が流通する複数の熱媒体側流路(220)と、反応側流路(210)における熱媒体側流路(220)が積層されない面に隣接して設けられ、反応側流路(210)を流通する反応流体から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応流体への伝熱を抑制する抑制流体が流通する抑制流路(250)とを備える。
Description
本発明は、熱交換型のリアクタに関する。
熱交換型のリアクタは、反応場として機能する反応側流路と、伝熱隔壁を隔てて反応側流路と並行して設けられる熱媒体側流路とを備えている。反応側流路には反応流体が流通し、熱媒体側流路には反応流体と熱交換を行う熱媒体が流通する。熱交換型のリアクタは、反応側流路において効率よく反応を遂行することができる。このような熱交換型のリアクタとして、反応側流路と、熱媒体側流路とが交互に積層された積層タイプのリアクタが開発されている(特許文献1参照)。
しかし、従来の積層タイプのリアクタでは、反応側流路のうち、熱媒体側流路が積層されていない側面が外部に曝され、この側面を通じて反応側流路から外部へ放熱してしまう。或いは、この側面を通じて外部から反応側流路に熱が流入してしまう。そうすると、反応側流路における側面付近の温度が反応に適した温度から遠ざかり、反応効率が低下してしまうおそれがある。
そこで本発明は、このような課題に鑑み、反応側流路から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応側流路への熱の流入を抑制し、反応効率を向上させることが可能なリアクタを提供することを目的としている。
本発明の一態様はリアクタであって、反応対象となる流体である反応流体が流通する複数の反応側流路と、前記反応側流路内に配され、前記反応流体の反応を促進させる触媒と、前記反応側流路と交互に積層されるとともに、前記反応側流路を流通する反応流体と熱交換を行う流体である熱媒体が流通する複数の熱媒体側流路と、前記反応側流路における前記熱媒体側流路が積層されない面に隣接して設けられ、前記反応側流路を流通する反応流体から外部への放熱、または、外部から前記反応流体への伝熱を抑制する流体である抑制流体が流通する抑制流路と、を備えたことを要旨とする。
前記抑制流路には、前記抑制流体として前記熱媒体が流通してもよい。
リアクタは、前記熱媒体側流路と前記抑制流路とを連通する連通部を更に備えてもよい。前記抑制流路には、前記連通部を通じて前記熱媒体側流路から前記熱媒体が導入されてもよい。
本発明によれば、反応側流路から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応側流路への熱の流入を抑制し、反応効率を向上させることができる。
以下に添付図面を参照しながら、本発明の一実施形態について詳細に説明する。かかる実施形態に示す寸法、材料、その他具体的な数値等は、発明の理解を容易とするための例示にすぎず、特に断る場合を除き、本発明を限定するものではない。なお、本明細書および図面において、実質的に同一の機能、構成を有する要素については、同一の符号を付することにより重複説明を省略し、また本発明に直接関係のない要素は図示を省略する。
図1は、本実施形態にかかるリアクタ100を説明するための図である。図2は、反応側流路210、熱媒体側流路220を説明するための図である。本実施形態では、垂直に交わるX軸、Y軸、Z軸を図1および図2に示す通り定義している。また、図1中、理解を容易にするために、オフセットフィン300および触媒構造体400の記載を省略する。
図1に示すように、リアクタ100は、伝熱隔壁110が予め定められた間隔離隔して複数積層された構造を有する。また、リアクタ100を構成する天板102、伝熱隔壁110(110a、110bで示す場合もある)、反応流体導入部120、反応流体排出部122、熱媒体導入部130、熱媒体排出部132はすべて金属材料(例えば、ステンレス鋼(SUS等)、ニッケル(Ni)基合金(インコネル(登録商標)、ハステロイ(登録商標)、ヘインズ(登録商標))等の耐熱金属)で形成されている。
リアクタ100を製造する場合、伝熱隔壁110を積層してそれぞれを接合するとともに、最も上に配される伝熱隔壁110に天板102を接合する。そして、反応流体導入部120、反応流体排出部122、熱媒体導入部130、熱媒体排出部132を、積層された伝熱隔壁110にそれぞれ接合する。リアクタ100を製造する際に用いる接合方法に限定はないが、例えば、TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas)溶接や拡散接合が利用できる。
ここで、伝熱隔壁110によって区画される空間のうち、図1(b)に示すように、反応流体導入部120および反応流体排出部122側に形成された孔210aを介して、反応流体導入部120および反応流体排出部122と連通した空間が反応側流路210となる。また、伝熱隔壁110によって区画される空間のうち、図1(a)に示すように、熱媒体導入部130および熱媒体排出部132側に形成された孔220aを介して、熱媒体導入部130および熱媒体排出部132と連通した空間が熱媒体側流路220となる。つまり、本実施形態のリアクタ100では、反応側流路210と熱媒体側流路220とが伝熱隔壁110に区画されて並行して設けられるとともに、反応側流路210と熱媒体側流路220とが交互に積層されている。
図2(a)に示すように、熱媒体側流路220の底面は、伝熱隔壁110(図2(a)中、110aで示す)で構成される。また、熱媒体側流路220の上面は、天板102もしくは後述する伝熱隔壁110(図2(b)中、110bで示す)で構成される。伝熱隔壁110aには、伝熱隔壁110a、110b間の間隙を保持するためのリブ112が複数立設されている。また、伝熱隔壁110aには、リアクタ100の側面を構成する側壁114と、反応流体導入部120や反応流体排出部122からの反応流体の混入を防止するためのサイドバー116とが立設されている。つまり、熱媒体側流路220は、リブ112によって、熱媒体の流通方向と直交する方向に並列した複数の区画流路222に区画されている。
図2(a)に示すように、側壁114のうち、熱媒体導入部130および熱媒体排出部132が接合される側の側壁114には、切り欠き114aが設けられている。伝熱隔壁110が積層されたときには、切り欠き114aが孔220a(図1参照)を形成する。そして、熱媒体導入部130から当該孔220aを介して熱媒体側流路220内へ熱媒体が導入される。或いは、熱媒体側流路220内から当該孔220aを介して熱媒体排出部132へ熱媒体が排出される。
さらに、図2(a)に示すように、熱媒体側流路220の区画流路222には、金属で構成されたオフセットフィン300が設けられている。オフセットフィン300を配することにより、区画流路222(熱媒体側流路220)を流通する熱媒体を攪拌することができ、熱媒体と、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体との熱交換効率を向上させることが可能となる。
図2(b)に示すように、反応側流路210の底面は、伝熱隔壁110bで構成される。また、反応側流路210の上面は、伝熱隔壁110a(図2(a)参照)で構成される。伝熱隔壁110bにも、上記伝熱隔壁110aと同様に伝熱隔壁110間の間隙を保持するための複数のリブ112と、側壁114とが立設されている。つまり、反応側流路210は、リブ112によって、反応流体の流通方向と直交する方向に並列した複数の区画流路212に区画されている。
なお、伝熱隔壁110bには、伝熱隔壁110aと異なり、サイドバー116が設けられていない。そのため、2つの側壁114間に間隙114bが形成される。間隙114bは、伝熱隔壁110が積層されたときに、孔210a(図1参照)を形成する。そして、反応流体導入部120から当該孔210aを介して反応側流路210内へ反応流体が導入される。或いは、反応側流路210内から当該孔210aを介して反応流体排出部122へ反応生成物が排出される。
さらに、反応側流路210を構成する区画流路212には、反応流体の反応を促進させる触媒構造体400が設けられている。触媒構造体400は、隆起および陥没した板形状の金属、すなわち、波板形状(コルゲート形状)の金属板に、担体に担持された触媒が固定されたものである。なお、触媒構造体400を構成する金属板は、Fe(鉄)、Cr(クロム)、Al(アルミニウム)、Y(イットリウム)を主成分とする耐熱合金、例えば、Fecralloy(登録商標)等で構成される。また、触媒の担体は、リアクタ100で遂行する反応によって適宜選択され、例えば、Al2O3(アルミナ)、TiO2(チタニア)、ZrO2(ジルコニア)、CeO2(セリア)、SiO2(シリカ)の群から選択される1または複数である。また、触媒(活性金属)は、リアクタ100で遂行する反応によって適宜選択され、例えば、Ni(ニッケル)、Co(コバルト)、Fe(鉄)、Pt(白金)、Ru(ルテニウム)、Rh(ロジウム)、Pd(パラジウム)の群から選択される1または複数である。
また、伝熱隔壁110bには、最も外側に配されるリブ112(図2中、112Aで示す)と、側壁114とを連結する遮断壁118が設けられている。遮断壁118を設けることにより、伝熱隔壁110a、110b、リブ112A、側壁114、遮断壁118で囲繞された空間(以下、抑制流路250と称する)が形成される。つまり、抑制流路250は、反応側流路210における熱媒体側流路220が積層されない面(伝熱隔壁110が配される面以外の面、ここでは、リブ112A)に隣接して設けられる。換言すれば、反応側流路210の両側に抑制流路250が配される。
さらに、伝熱隔壁110bのうち、抑制流路250を構成する部分には、貫通孔で構成される連通部230が設けられている。また、伝熱隔壁110aのうち、最も外側に配される区画流路222(図中、222Aで示す)を構成する部分、すなわち、伝熱隔壁110が積層されたときに、抑制流路250の上面を構成する伝熱隔壁110aには、貫通孔で構成される連通部232が設けられている。抑制流路250、連通部230、232の機能については、後に詳述する。
図1(a)及び図1(b)に戻って本実施形態について説明する。図1(a)中の実線の矢印で示すように、熱媒体が熱媒体導入部130から導入されると、熱媒体は熱媒体側流路220を流通し、熱媒体排出部132から排出される。また、図1(b)中の破線の矢印で示すように、反応流体(反応対象となる流体)が反応流体導入部120から導入されると、反応流体は反応側流路210を流通し、反応流体排出部122から排出される。なお、これらの図に示すように、本実施形態において、反応流体と熱媒体とは、対向流の関係となっている。
このように、反応側流路210と熱媒体側流路220とが伝熱隔壁110に区画されて並行して設けられることから、熱媒体側流路220を流通する熱媒体は、伝熱隔壁110を介して、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体と熱交換する。
ここで、反応側流路210において吸熱反応が遂行される場合、熱媒体側流路220および熱媒体は、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体に熱を供給(加熱)し、反応側流路210において発熱反応が遂行される場合、熱媒体側流路220および熱媒体は、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体を除熱(冷却)する。
吸熱反応は、例えば、下記化学式(1)に示すメタンの水蒸気改質反応や、化学式(2)に示すメタンのドライリフォーミング反応が挙げられる。

また、発熱反応は、例えば、下記化学式(3)に示すシフト反応や、化学式(4)に示すメタネーション反応、化学式(5)に示すFT(Fischer Tropsch)合成反応が挙げられる。

このように、反応側流路210と熱媒体側流路220とを積層し、反応流体と熱媒体とで熱交換を行うことで、反応側流路210において効率よく反応が進行する。しかし、反応側流路210のうち、熱媒体側流路220が積層されない面(例えば、側壁114)が外部(外気)に曝されていると、反応側流路210から外部へ放熱してしまう、或いは、外部から反応側流路210に熱が流入してしまう。
図3(a)及び図3(b)は、反応側流路210から外部への放熱、および、抑制流路250を説明するための図であり、伝熱隔壁110bの上面図を示す。また、図3(a)は、抑制流路250を備えない比較例の反応側流路10を説明するための図であり、図3(b)は、本実施形態の抑制流路250を備えた反応側流路210を説明するための図である。なお、図3中、理解を容易にするために、触媒構造体400の記載を省略する。また、以下の説明では、反応側流路で吸熱反応が生じる場合を例に挙げる。
図3(a)に示すように、比較例の反応側流路10では、X軸に沿った複数の区画流路12が設けられている。これらの区画流路12のうち、区画流路12A、12GはY軸に沿った方向において最も外側に配され、その一部が側壁114によって区画されている。即ち、区画流路12A、12Gは、側壁114を介して外気に曝されている。一方、区画流路12B~12Fは、区画流路12Aと区画流路12Gの間に位置し、リブ112もしくは伝熱隔壁110を介して反応流体もしくは熱媒体に曝される。したがって、区画流路12A、12Gを流通する反応流体から外部(外気)へ放熱が生じ、区画流路12A、12Gは、区画流路12B~12Fよりも温度が低下し、これにより反応効率が低下してしまう。
また、例えば、上記化学式(1)、(2)に従う反応のように、反応流体よりも生成物の方が体積(モル数)が多くなる反応を行う場合、区画流路12A、12Gは、区画流路12B~12Fよりも反応効率が低下する。そのため、ガス量が少なくなり圧力損失が小さくなる。そうすると、反応側流路10に導入された反応流体は、区画流路12B~12Fよりも区画流路12A、12Gへ多く流れ込んでしまうため、さらに反応効率が低下してしまう。
一方、図3(b)に示すように、本実施形態のリアクタ100もX軸に沿った複数の区画流路212が設けられている。これらの区画流路212のうち、区画流路212A、212GはY軸に沿った方向において最も外側に配され、区画流路212B~212Dはその間に位置する。ただし、反応側流路210における熱媒体側流路220が積層されない面(リブ112A)に隣接して抑制流路250が設けられている。抑制流路250には、熱媒体(抑制流体)が流通する。これにより、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体は、リブ112Aを介して熱媒体に曝される。したがって、反応側流路210から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応流体への伝熱を抑制することができる。これにより、最も外側に配される区画流路212A、212Eにおいて温度の低下を抑制することができ、反応効率の低下を抑制することが可能となる。
また、区画流路212間のガス量(圧力損失)の差を低減することができ、圧力損失差に基づく反応効率の低下を抑制することが可能となる。
図4は、抑制流路250における熱媒体の流通機構について説明する図であり、リアクタ100における連通部230、232近傍の部分断面(XZ断面)を示す。上述したように、伝熱隔壁110bのうち、抑制流路250を構成する部分には連通部230が設けられ、積層されたときに抑制流路250の上面を構成する伝熱隔壁110aには連通部232が設けられている。
したがって、熱媒体導入部130から熱媒体側流路220内へ導入された熱媒体は、図4中の実線の矢印で示すように、熱媒体側流路220内を流通する。また、熱媒体は、図4中の破線の矢印で示すように、連通部230を通じて、伝熱隔壁110bの上方に形成される抑制流路250に導入され、連通部232を通じて、伝熱隔壁110aの下方に形成される抑制流路250に導入される。そして、抑制流路250を流通した熱媒体は、連通部230、232を通じて熱媒体側流路220へ返送される。
連通部230、232を備えることにより、別途の手段を設けずとも、抑制流路250に熱媒体を流通させることが可能となる。
また、反応に適した温度が高温(例えば、500℃以上)の場合、熱応力によって接合箇所に欠損が生じる場合がある。例えば、側壁114との接合箇所に欠損が生じた場合、図3(a)に示す比較例のリアクタ10では、反応流体が外部に流出して、反応効率が低下してしまうおそれがある。しかし、本実施形態では、側壁114を介して外部に曝される流路(抑制流路250)には、反応流体ではなく熱媒体が流通するため、仮に欠損が生じたとしても、反応流体が流出する事態を回避することができ、反応効率の低下を防止することが可能となる。
また、上記化学式(1)~(5)に示すような、反応流体および生成物のいずれか一方または両方が、可燃性や毒性を有するガスである場合であっても、反応流体が流出する事態を回避することができ、別途の手段を設けずとも、作業環境の安全性を確保することが可能となる。
以上説明したように、本実施形態のリアクタ100によれば、反応側流路210における積層方向(図中、Z軸方向)に配されない面に隣接して抑制流路250を設けることにより、反応側流路210から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応側流路210への熱の流入を抑制し、反応効率を向上させることが可能となる。
以上、添付図面を参照しながら本発明の一実施形態について説明したが、本発明はかかる実施形態に限定されないことは言うまでもない。当業者であれば、特許請求の範囲に記載された範疇において、各種の変更例または修正例に想到し得ることは明らかであり、それらについても当然に本発明の技術的範囲に属するものと了解される。
例えば、本実施形態では、1つの伝熱隔壁110において連通部230、232が2つずつ形成されている。しかし、連通部230、232を通じて抑制流路250へ熱媒体が導入され、連通部230、232を通じて抑制流路250から熱媒体を排出できれば、連通部230、232の数や形状に限定(制限)はない。
また、本実施形態では、リアクタ100が連通部230、232を備えている。しかし、抑制流路250に熱媒体を流通させることができれば、連通部230、232を省略してもよい。例えば、サイドバー116及び遮断壁118を介して抑制流路250と熱媒体側流路220を連通させるパイプ(図示せず)を設けてもよい。
また、本実施形態では、抑制流路250を熱媒体が流通している。しかし、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体から外部への放熱、または、外部から反応流体への伝熱を抑制する流体であれば、熱媒体側流路220を流通する熱媒体に限らず、他の流体(抑制流体)を抑制流路250に流通させてもよい。
また、本実施形態では、抑制流路250にオフセットフィン300を設けずに、抑制流路250に隣接する区画流路212A、212Eの過剰な加熱(もしくは冷却)を抑制している。しかし、抑制流路250にオフセットフィン300を設けてもよい。
また、本実施形態では、反応側流路210が区画流路212に区画されている。しかし、反応側流路210は、区画流路212に区画されずともよい。即ち、反応側流路210において、リブ112を省略してもよい。また、本実施形態では、熱媒体側流路220が区画流路222に区画されている。しかし、熱媒体側流路220は、区画流路222に区画されずともよい。即ち、即ち、熱媒体側流路220において、リブ112を省略してもよい。
また、本実施形態では、反応側流路210を流通する反応流体と熱媒体側流路220を流通する熱媒体とが対向流の関係にある。しかしながら、反応流体と熱媒体とが平行流の関係(即ち、両者の流れが同一である関係)にあってもよい。
また、熱媒体側流路220を流通する熱媒体は、気体(例えば、燃焼排ガス)であってもよいし、液体であってもよい。しかし、熱媒体として気体を採用することで、液体を採用する場合と比較して、取り扱いを容易にすることができる。
本発明は、熱交換型のリアクタに利用することができる。

- 反応対象となる流体である反応流体が流通する複数の反応側流路と、
前記反応側流路内に配され、前記反応流体の反応を促進させる触媒と、
前記反応側流路と交互に積層されるとともに、前記反応側流路を流通する反応流体と熱交換を行う流体である熱媒体が流通する複数の熱媒体側流路と、
前記反応側流路における前記熱媒体側流路が積層されない面に隣接して設けられ、前記反応側流路を流通する反応流体から外部への放熱、または、外部から前記反応流体への伝熱を抑制する流体である抑制流体が流通する抑制流路と、
を備えたことを特徴とするリアクタ。 - 前記抑制流路には、前記抑制流体として前記熱媒体が流通することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリアクタ。
- 前記熱媒体側流路と前記抑制流路とを連通する連通部を更に備え、
前記抑制流路には、前記連通部を通じて前記熱媒体側流路から前記熱媒体が導入される
