Abstract
Description
本発明による無線端末は、無線通信ネットワークにおいて他の無線端末とピアツーピアグループを形成することができる無線端末であって、第1のグループのアクセスポイントとして動作する場合、当該第1のグループ内の一つあるいは複数の他の無線端末を探索端末として動作させるための探索指定を行う探索指定手段を有することを特徴とする。さらに、第2のグループのクライアントとして動作する場合、当該第2のグループのアクセスポイントとして動作するオーナ端末から探索端末の指定を受けると、近隣に存在する端末の探索動作を実行する探索制御手段を更に有することもできる。
本発明による通信システムの制御方法は、ピアツーピアグループを形成することができる複数の端末を含む無線通信ネットワークにおける通信システムの制御方法であって、一つのグループのアクセスポイントとして動作するオーナ端末が当該グループの一部のクライアント端末を探索端末に指定し、前記探索端末が近隣に存在する端末を探索する、ことを特徴とする。
本発明による無線端末の制御方法は、無線通信ネットワークにおいて他の無線端末とピアツーピアグループを形成することができる無線端末の制御方法であって、制御手段が一つのグループのアクセスポイントとして動作するオーナ端末として動作させ、選択手段が当該グループ内の一つあるいは複数の他の無線端末を選択し、指定手段が前記選択された他の無線端末を探索端末に指定する、ことを特徴とする。
本発明による無線端末の制御方法は、無線通信ネットワークにおいて他の無線端末とピアツーピアグループを形成することができる無線端末の制御方法であって、制御手段が一つのグループのクライアント端末として動作させ、探索制御手段が、前記グループのアクセスポイントとして動作するオーナ端末から探索端末に指定されると、近隣に存在する端末の探索動作を実行する、ことを特徴とする。
本発明の実施形態によれば、P2Pグループ内の一つあるいは複数のクライアント端末を指定し、指定された端末に他の端末を探索する役割が委任される。すなわち、指定されたクライアント端末が近隣に存在する端末を探索し、その他のクライアント端末は探索動作を実行しない。全てのクライアント端末ではなく一部のクライアント端末を探索端末に指定することにより、グループ内通信の性能低下を抑制でき、グループ内でより効率的に近隣端末の探索が可能となる。さらに、探索動作を行う端末を限定することで、グループ全体の消費電力を低減できる。なお、指定された探索端末は、自身の属するグループから離脱してチャネル探索(システムの全チャネル探索あるいは所定の複数チャネル探索)を実行してもよいし、離脱せずに実行してもよい。また、指定された探索端末は、指定されたときだけでなく、指定された時間間隔あるいは所定周期で探索動作を実行してもよい。
本発明の第1実施形態によれば、グループ内の任意のあるいは特定されたクライアント端末を探索端末に指定し、指定された探索端末だけが近隣に存在する他の端末の探索動作を実行する。探索端末は、発見された端末情報を自身が属するグループオーナに通知する。
図1に示すように、複数のP2P端末(ここでは、4台の端末N10~N13)がグループG1を構成し、その親(グループオーナ)が端末N10、クライアントが端末N11~N13であるとする。以下、グループオーナ端末N10が一つクライアント端末N12を探索端末に指定した場合を例示する(動作S101)。
図1における端末N10~N15は基本的に同じ機能的構成を有している。以下、端末N10~N15のいずれかを示す端末Nの機能的構成について図2を参照しながら説明する。ここで、端末は、P2Pグループを構成する機能を有する無線端末、たとえば当該機能を搭載した携帯情報端末、携帯電話端末等の移動局および通信端末を含むものとする。
上述したように、本発明の第1実施形態によれば、グループ内の一つあるいは一部のクライアント端末を探索端末に指定し、当該探索端末だけが近隣に存在する他の端末の探索動作を実行することで、他のクライアント端末のグループ内通信を維持することができ、グループ全体として通信性能の低下を抑制できる。さらに、探索動作を実行する端末が限定されるので、グループ全体として消費電力を低減させることができる。さらに、探索端末は、発見された近隣の端末情報をグループオーナ端末に通知することで、グループオーナは探索端末を通してグループ近隣の端末情報を取得することができる。
本発明の第2実施形態によれば、グループ内の一部のクライアント端末を探索端末に指定することで、当該探索端末が当該グループを一旦離脱して探索動作を実行し、その後再接続して、発見された他の端末の情報を元のグループに通知する。本実施形態によるシステム構成および端末Nの構成は図1および図2に示す第1実施形態と同様であるから、以下、本実施形態による端末の動作とシステム全体の動作について詳細に説明する。
図3において、P2PグループG1が構成された後、グループオーナ端末N10が一以上のクライアントを探索端末に指定したとする(動作S301)。
図4において、端末N10がグループG1のオーナとなり、グループG1内のクライアント端末から探索端末を所定の手順により選択し(動作S401)、一つのクライアント端末N12に対して探索指示信号を送信する(動作S402)。この探索指示信号を受信すると、端末N12はグループオーナ端末N10との接続を切断する手順を実行し(動作S403)、切断が完了すると、所定の複数チャネル探索あるいは全チャネル探索を開始する(動作S404)。チャネル探索において、探索端末N12はチャネルを順次切替ながらプローブ要求を送信し、それに対する応答を待つ(動作S405)。プローブ応答があれば、その送信元である端末の情報を格納する。
上述したように、本発明の第2実施形態によれば、探索端末がグループを一旦離脱して探索動作を実行し、その後、元のグループに再接続して、他の端末情報を通知する。グループを離脱して探索を実行することで、探索端末はクライアント端末としての制約なしに十分な探索動作を実行でき、グループオーナ端末は探索に関する制御が軽減されるという利点がある。
本発明の第3実施形態によれば、グループ内の全てあるいは一部のクライアント端末を所定の順序で探索端末に指定し、当該探索端末だけが近隣に存在する他の端末の探索動作を実行する。上述したように、探索を実行する端末はバッテリ消費が大きくなり、また探索中にグループ内の通信ができなくなる。したがって、探索端末の指定順序は公平性の観点から決定されることが望ましいが、グループの近隣を十分な精度で効率的に探索することも必要である。そこで、公平性を担保し十分な近隣探索を可能にするために、本実施形態では、指定手順として、ラウンドロビン方式、ランダム方式、端末の近隣状況、バッテリ状態等を考慮した指定方式、あるいはそれらの組み合わせを用いることができる。
図5に示すように、複数のP2P端末N10~N1mがグループGを構成し、そのグループオーナが端末N10、クライアントがm(mは1以上の整数)個の端末N11~N1mであるとする。グループオーナ端末N10は、上述したような探索端末の指定順序を予め定めているが、ここではN11->N12->N13->・・・->N1m->N11->・・・というようにラウンドロビン方式で決定し、探索指示信号を順次送信するものとする。探索端末に指定された端末N1s(s=1、・・・m)は、上述したように、近隣に存在する他の端末の探索動作を実行し、発見された端末情報をグループオーナ端末N10に通知する。
図5における端末N10~N1mは基本的に同じ機能的構成を有しており、以下、端末N10~N1mのいずれかを示す端末Nの機能的構成について図6を参照しながら説明する。ここで、端末は、P2Pグループを構成する機能を有する無線端末、たとえば当該機能を搭載した携帯情報端末、携帯電話端末等の移動局および通信端末を含むものとする。
図7に示すように、端末N10~N13がグループG1を構成し、そのグループオーナが端末N10、クライアントが端末N11~N13であるとする。グループオーナ端末N10は、探索端末の指定順序をN12->N13->N11->N12->・・・というようにラウンドロビン方式で順次決定するものとする。
次に、図8を参照しながら、探索端末に指定された端末の探索シーケンスの一例について説明する。図8において、グループオーナ端末N10は、探索端末の指定スケジューリングを行い(動作S600)、スケジューリングにより順次指定された探索端末が探索シーケンスS700、S700a・・・を順次実行する。探索シーケンスS700、S700a・・・は、端末が異なるだけで基本的の動作は同じであるから、探索シーケンスS700について説明する。
グループオーナ端末N10は、複数のクライアント端末の指定方式として、上述したラウンドロビン方式を用いることができるが、複数のクライアント端末の指定順序には種々の態様が考えられる。
グループオーナ端末N10は、たとえば次の条件をトリガとして探索端末を指定することができる。
・クライアント端末が新たな隣接端末あるいは隣接グループを発見したとき
・一定時間を計測するタイマがタイムアウトしたとき(定期的な指定)
・探索端末として復帰したクライアント端末の他の端末情報の通知が終了したとき
上述したように、本発明の第3実施形態によれば、グループ内の複数クライアント端末のうちの一部を探索端末として所定の手順にて順次指定し、指定された探索端末だけが近隣に存在する他の端末の探索動作を実行することで、バッテリ消費およびグループ内通信に関する公平性を確保することができる。また、各クライアント端末の状態、周囲の状況等に関する情報に基づいて探索端末の指定手順を決定することで、より効率的な探索が可能となる。
本発明の第4実施形態によれば、グループ内に一つ以上のクライアント端末を特定端末として予め選択しておき、選択された特定端末を探索端末に順次指定してもよい。たとえば、隣接端末の多い等の探索動作に有利な端末、処理能力、バッテリ容量あるいは残量などの端末性能に余裕がある端末、を特定端末として選択する。これにより、選択された特定端末を主な探索端末として指定することができ、特定端末以外の端末との公平性を考慮した探索スケジューリングが可能となる。
図10に示すように、本実施形態によるシステムは、複数のP2P端末N10~N1mがグループGを構成し、そのグループオーナが端末N10、クライアントがm(mは1以上の整数)個の端末N11~N1mであるとする。グループオーナ端末N10は、特定端末としてクライアント端末N11よびN12を予め選択し、すでに述べたような探索端末の指定順序を予め定めているものとする。ここではN11->N12->N11->N12->・・・というようにラウンドロビン方式で指定されるものとする。
図11に示すように、グループオーナ端末N10は、複数のクライアント端末の各々から各クライアント端末の状態、端末性能、周囲の状況等に関する情報を収集する(動作S901)。グループオーナ端末N10は、隣接グループ数/隣接端末数が所定値より多い端末、端末性能が所定値より高い端末および/またはバッテリ残量が所定値より大きい端末を特定端末として選択し、特定端末からなる第1サブグループと、特定端末以外のクライアント端末からなる第2サブグループとに区別する(動作S902)。
図12において、グループオーナ端末N10は、特定端末を選択した後(動作S910)、上述した探索指定スケジューリングにより探索時間T1、T2および各サブグループでの指定手順を決定する(動作S911)、以下、第1サブグループおよび第2サブグループにおいてそれぞれ探索時間T1およびT2と指定手順とに従って、指定された探索端末が探索シーケンスを順次実行する。すなわち、探索時間T2の間は、第2サブグループの端末N13~N1mがたとえばラウンドロビン方式により順次探索端末に指定され、探索時間T2経過後で探索時間T1の間は、第1サブグループの端末N11およびN12が交互に探索端末に指定される。なお、各探索端末の探索シーケンスは、図8における探索シーケンスS700と同様であるから説明は省略する。
上述したように、本発明の第4実施形態によれば、上述した第1~第3実施形態の効果に加えて、たとえば隣接端末の多い等の探索動作に有利な端末、バッテリ容量あるいは残量に余裕がある端末等を特定端末として選択し、この特定端末を主な探索端末として指定することができる。これにより、効率的な探索が可能となると共に、特定端末以外の端末との公平性を考慮した探索スケジューリングが可能となる。
次に、上述した本発明の第1~第4実施形態によるシステムをWi-Fi Directに準拠したP2Pネットワークに適用した場合を本発明の一実施例として詳細に説明する。基本的な構成要素および機能は上述したとおりであるから、以下、それらの構成要素および機能をWi-Fi Directで実現する場合を例示する。
図13に示すように、本実施例による端末(無線端末)は、Wi-Fi通信を行うためのWi-Fiデバイス1001、Wi-Fi接続制御部1002、アプリケーション部1003およびWi-Fi Directに従って自動接続を行うWFD自動接続制御部1004を有する。ここで、WFD自動接続制御部1004は図2および図6におけるユーザ制御部202および制御部205(図6の制御部205a)に対応する。なお、図2において説明した情報記憶部203は図13に図示されていないが、本実施例の端末には設けられている。
図14に示すように、端末間でグループを形成する場合(CASE1)、まず、Device Discovery処理により近隣のP2P端末を探索し、P2P端末が発見されるとGO Negotiation処理によりいずれか一方がグループオーナ(GO)、他方がクライアントとなって接続する。続いて、WPS Provision Phase-1(認証フェーズ)およびPhase-2(暗号化フェーズ)が順次実行される。

- ピアツーピアグループを形成することができる複数の端末を含む無線通信ネットワークにおける通信システムであって、
一つのグループのアクセスポイントとして動作するオーナ端末が当該グループの一部のクライアント端末を探索端末に指定し、
前記探索端末が近隣に存在する端末を探索する、
ことを特徴とする通信システム。 - 前記探索端末が前記グループから離脱して前記探索を実行した後、前記グループに再接続することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の通信システム。
