- a light source such as an LED (Light Emitting Diode) or a semiconductor laser to the liquid crystal panel 12 side.
- a light source such as an LED (Light Emitting Diode) or a semiconductor laser
- PC Polycarbonate
- acrylic for example, PMMA (for example) Polymethylmethacrylate
- the reflecting member returns, for example, the light emitted to the back side of the light guide plate to the light guide plate. It is.
- a plate member 40 described later is provided behind the light source unit 16.
- the frame members 13A, 13B, 14, 15, and 18 are all metal frames or brackets fixed to the peripheral edge or the outer edge of the display body 120.
- the frame member 15 may be made of resin.
- the frame member 13A functions as, for example, a bracket for fixing and supporting the liquid crystal panel 12, and is disposed so as to cover each of the four rectangular sides of the liquid crystal panel 12.
- this frame member 13A for example, as shown in FIG. 3B, there are a plurality of portions (portions 13a1 bent in an L shape) having a surface to be bonded to the liquid crystal panel 12 and a surface to be fixed to the frame member 14. , Spaced apart.
- the frame member 13A has a plurality of notches at a predetermined interval. With such a configuration, it is possible to flexibly follow a curved shape described later.
- the frame member 13B functions as a bracket for supporting the speaker 17, for example.
- the frame member 13B is provided along, for example, two rectangular short sides of the liquid crystal panel 12 (on the left and right ends of the liquid crystal panel 12), and corresponds to each element 17a of the speaker 17, for example, a circular opening. have.
- the frame member 18 is a member for fixing the light source unit 16 to the liquid crystal panel 12, and is screwed to the light source unit 16 (B2 in FIG. 3A).
- the frame member 14 is fixed to the liquid crystal panel 12 and the light source unit 16 through, for example, the frame members 13A and 18 described above, and along the long side (along the X direction) on the outer edge of the display body 120. ) It is extended and provided. In other words, the frame member 14 is provided so as to sandwich the display body 120 from the upper side and the lower side thereof.
- the frame member 14 is formed by processing the shape of the surface facing the display body 120 (XZ plane shape) into, for example, a bow shape (bow shape).
- FIG. 4 shows an example of the XZ plane shape of the frame member 14.
- the frame member 14 has a bow shape that curves gently.
- the curved shape of the display body 120 and the front plate 11 is formed and held following the bow shape of the frame member 14.
- the bow-shaped curvature of the frame member 14 may be constant over the entire region, or may be different between the central portion and the left and right ends.
- the adhesive layer 19A includes, for example, a UV curable resin.
- a selective portion of the adhesive layer 19A, specifically, a peripheral portion of the liquid crystal panel 12 includes fine particles such as beads having a diameter substantially the same as the thickness of the adhesive layer 19A.
- the region along the left and right sides of the liquid crystal panel 12 may contain such fine particles. This is because the thickness of the adhesive layer 19A can be suppressed from being locally reduced. Due to the curved shape, stress tends to concentrate on the peripheral edge of the liquid crystal panel 12, so that the thickness of the adhesive can be ensured and peeling can be prevented.
- the adhesive layer 19B includes an adhesive or an adhesive.
- the adhesive layer 19B desirably has flexibility. This is because the propagation of stress from the outside to the liquid crystal panel 12 can be reduced and the occurrence of display unevenness can be suppressed.
- the front side of the main body 10 has a curved shape.
- the front plate 11 has a curved shape bent in an arc shape, for example, along the X direction (first direction), and the back side of the front plate 11 (the second surface S2 side).
- the liquid crystal panel 12 of the display body 120 is bonded to follow the curved shape.
- the curved shape formed by the front plate 11 and the display body 120 is a shape bent so that the first surface S1 is concave on the front side (the second surface S2 is convex on the back side). This curved shape is formed and held by the frame member 14.
- the curved shapes of the front plate 11 and the display body 120 are similar to the arcuate arc shape of the frame member 14.
- the vertical width of the display screen 110A gradually increases from the center toward the left and right ends. Visual effects can create a sense of unity and immersion.
- this curved shape is uniform in the Y direction. This is because the liquid crystal panel 12 is less likely to be twisted locally than in the case where the curvature changes in the Y direction, and damage to the liquid crystal panel 12 and occurrence of display defects can be suppressed.
- the stand 20 is preferably provided at the left and right lower portions of the main body 10, for example.
- the reason is as follows.
- the liquid crystal panel 12 is convexly curved rearward, the left and right end positions come forward relative to the position of the center of gravity of the main body 10, so the stand 20 is hidden by the main body 10, and the liquid crystal panel 12
- the protrusion of the stand 20 to the front of the main body 10 can be made inconspicuous.
- the speakers are arranged at the left and right ends of the main body 10 as will be described later, the speakers can be reliably supported by the stand 20 laid on the left and right lower portions of the main body 10.
- the stand 20 is not limited to the left and right lower portions of the main body 10, and can be provided at the lower center of the main body 10. Further, when the liquid crystal panel 12 is strongly curved, the main body 10 can be made independent without the stand 20. The position, number and shape of the stand 20 are not particularly limited.
- FIG. 6A shows a configuration viewed from the back side with the exterior member removed from the display device 1 shown in FIG.
- FIG. 6B illustrates a perspective configuration of the plate member 40 and the frame member 50 as viewed from the back side.
- the reinforcing plate member 40 and the frame member 50 are arranged on the back side of the display body 120.
- the plate member 40 and the frame member 50 are also formed following the curved shape of the display body 120 described above.
- the configuration of the plate member 40 and the frame member 50 is an example.
- Such a reinforcing member may be provided or may not be provided.
- only the plate member 40 may be provided, and the frame member 50 may not be provided.
- the plate member 40 is configured by a flexible plate made of metal or resin.
- a plurality (three in this case) of frame members 50 are provided on the back surface of the plate member 40 so as to extend in one direction (for example, the X direction).
- the plate member 40 is provided with a boss (not shown) for fixing the frame member 50.
- the frame member 50 is provided with screw holes 54 corresponding to the bosses, and is provided with a VESA (Video Electronics Standard Association) hole 55 for attaching a wall hanging bracket (described later) as necessary.
- VESA Video Electronics Standard Association
- substrates 60 such as a source substrate, a timing controller substrate, and a balancer substrate for controlling a backlight light source are mounted (FIG. 6A).
- a speaker 17 is disposed in a region corresponding to the left and right ends of the liquid crystal panel 12.
- the speaker 17 is preferably arranged so as to protrude from the left and right sides of the liquid crystal panel 12 and behind the plate member 40. As a result, the capacity of the speaker 17 can be secured, and the output can be increased and the sound quality can be improved.
- the speaker 17 is a speaker box (speaker system) configured by a plurality of speaker elements 17a, and is preferably configured by, for example, a 4-channel surround speaker. This is because the sense of unity and immersion can be further enhanced by the visual effect of the curved shape and the sound spreading from front to back and from side to side. A specific configuration of the speaker 17 will be described later.
- the curved shapes of the front plate 11 and the display body 120 in the display device 1 can be formed as follows, for example. 7A to 8B are schematic cross-sectional views for explaining a method for assembling the display device 1.
- a front plate 11 made of glass or the like and a liquid crystal panel 12 are prepared. Then, as shown in FIG. 7A, the liquid crystal panel 12 is bonded to a predetermined region of the second surface S2 of the front plate 11 via an adhesive layer 19A.
- the frame member 13A and the frame member 13B are bonded to the peripheral edge portion of the liquid crystal panel 12 via the adhesive layer 19B.
- the liquid crystal panel 12 can be fixed to the frame member 13A in a state before being bent (flat state).
- the frame member 14 processed into a bow shape is fixed to the frame member 13A by, for example, screwing (arrow B1 in FIG. 7C).
- the front plate 11 and the liquid crystal panel 12 are bent in an arc shape following the bow shape of the frame member 14 along the X direction, and are held in a curved shape.
- the light source unit 16 as a backlight unit is assembled in the space surrounded by the frame members 13a and 14 on the back side of the liquid crystal panel 12.
- the frame member 18 is screwed to the light source unit 16 (arrow B2 in FIG. 8B) and is fitted to the frame members 13A and 14 so that the light source unit 16 is liquid crystal panel. 12 is fixed to the back side.
- the light source unit 16 is also fixed in a state of being bent in an arc shape following the curved shape of the liquid crystal panel 12.
- the front plate 11 and the display body 120 are integrally formed in a curved shape.
- a reinforcing member such as the plate member 40 described above may be attached to the back side of the light source unit 16.
- the speaker 17 and the boards 60 are mounted on the back side of the light source unit 16 via the plate member 40 and the like. Thereby, the main-body part 10 can be produced. Finally, the rear surface of the main body 10 is covered with a rear exterior member (not shown), and the stand 20 is attached to the left and right lower portions of the main body 10. Thus, the display device 1 shown in FIG. 1 is completed.
- FIG. 9A shows an enlarged configuration of the speaker element 17 a together with the appearance on the front side of the main body 10.
- the speaker element 17a has, for example, the diaphragm 17a1 and the decorative part 17a2 facing the opening of the front plate 11. That is, among the speaker elements 17a, the diaphragm 17a1 and the decorative part 17a2 are elements constituting the design.
- FIG. 9B is a cross-sectional view of a main part for explaining the internal structure of the speaker element 17a.
- FIG. 9C is a perspective view illustrating an appearance of the speaker element 17a.
- FIG. 10 shows an example of the decorative component 17a2.
- the speaker element 17a is mounted with a speaker unit 17a5 including a sound generation source, and is fixed and supported on the front plate 11 with the decorative part 17a2 interposed therebetween.
- the decorative part 17a2 is a part including an inclined surface having an inverted truncated cone shape formed so as to surround the diaphragm 17a1.
- the inclined surface of the decorative component 17a2 it is desired to minimize the width d1 from the viewpoint of designability when the width when viewed from the front is d1, the height is d2, and the inclination angle is ⁇ .
- the plate member 17a4 is, for example, a flat sheet metal.
- the plate member 17a4 is drawn for reinforcement.
- the plate member 17a4 is formed in a concave shape as a whole, and its edge (edge 170) is raised on one surface side.
- the edge (edge 101a) of the plate member 101 that supports the diaphragm 17a1 and the speaker unit 17a5 is forward in the Z direction (front side, display side).
- the decorative component 17a2 is attached in front of the plate member 101, a space between the plate member 101 and the decorative component 17a2 is likely to increase in order to secure a space corresponding to the height of the edge 101a.
- the sound is easily kicked by the inclined surface of the decorative part 17a2.
- the height d2 of the decorative part 17a2 depends on the structural thickness from the front plate 11 to the plate member 17a4. For this reason, when the width d1 is narrowed in pursuit of design, the height d2 is limited. As a result, the inclination angle ⁇ becomes large (the inclined surface becomes steep), and the sound is kicked and hardly spreads. End up.
- the edge 170 of the plate member 17a4 is raised rearward in the Z direction (back side, opposite to the display side). Therefore, when the decorative part 17a2 is attached in front of the plate member 17a4, it is not necessary to secure a space for the edge 170 between the plate member 17a4 and the decorative part 17a2. In other words, the gap between the plate member 17a4 and the decorative part 17a2 can be narrowed, and this makes it easier for the sound to spread on the inclined surface of the decorative part 17a2. Further, the degree of freedom of the inclination angle ⁇ of the decorative component 17a2 is increased by narrowing the gap.
- the width d1 can be reduced while suppressing kicking of the sound, which is advantageous for improving the design.
- the degree of freedom of the inclination angle ⁇ is increased, it is possible to install the speaker element 17a on the curved surface of the front plate 11 while adjusting the inclination angle ⁇ and the width d1 to desired values. Become.
- the freedom degree of speaker design increases, the design property can be improved, for example, suppressing the influence on sound.
- the front plate 11 has a curved shape bent in an arc shape along one direction (X direction).
- the display body 120 is bonded to the back side of the front plate 11 (the second surface S2 side) following the curved shape.
- a predetermined image display is performed by the light from the light source unit 16 being transmitted through the liquid crystal panel 12. Due to the curved shape, as shown in FIG. 5, the width of the display screen 110A as viewed from the front front gradually widens from the central portion toward the left and right ends. An immersive feeling is born, and a realistic video display can be realized.
- the front plate 11 is disposed so that substantially the entire area of the first surface S1 is exposed. That is, the front peripheral edge portion of the display device 1 is not covered with a frame-shaped member such as a bezel. Thereby, the designability improves.
- the curved shape of the display body 120 and the front plate 11 is formed and supported using the frame member 14 processed into a bow shape, so that the desired curved shape can be easily maintained and the display body 120 and The peeling from the front plate 11 can be suppressed.
- FIG. 13 as a comparative example, as an example of a structure in which the display body 120 is bonded to the second surface S ⁇ b> 2 side of the front plate 11, a frame member 103 (sheet metal) is directly attached to the peripheral portion of the front plate 11.
- the main part structure when bonded and fixed will be described.
- the frame member 103 is fixed to the front plate 11
- the curved shape (curvature) is fixed at both ends of the front plate 11 as schematically shown in FIG.
- a force (arrow X1 in FIG. 14) is easily applied to both ends in the direction opposite to the bending direction (the liquid crystal panel 12 attempts to return to a flat shape).
- the liquid crystal panel 12 is easily peeled off from the front plate 11.
- the bow-shaped frame member 14 is fixed to the peripheral edge of the liquid crystal panel 12 via the frame member 13A (FIG. 3A), as schematically shown in FIG.
- the curved shape (curvature) is fixed at the peripheral edge of the liquid crystal panel 12.
- a force (arrow X2 in FIG. 14) is easily applied to both ends of the front plate 11 in the direction opposite to the bending direction (the front plate 11 tends to return to a flat shape). That is, in the present embodiment, force is more easily applied in the direction in which the front plate 11 and the liquid crystal panel 12 face each other. As a result, the liquid crystal panel 12 is difficult to peel off from the front plate 11.
- the speakers 17 are arranged on the left and right of the liquid crystal panel 12, the video and sound are integrated without being visually separated, coupled with the visual effect due to the curved shape of the liquid crystal panel 12 described above,
- the immersive feeling can be further enhanced.
- the edge 170 of the plate member 17a4 is raised rearward in the Z direction (back side, opposite to the display side).
- the gap between the plate member 17a4 and the decorative part 17a2 can be narrowed, and the degree of freedom in speaker design can be increased.
- the substantially entire area of the first surface S1 of the front plate 11 having a curved shape bent in an arc shape along one direction is disposed to be exposed on the display side, and the second The display body 120 is bonded to the side of the surface S2 following the curved shape.
