Abstract

The invention relates to a textile item of clothing (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800) equipped for ballistic protection. The textile item of clothing comprises a knitted fabric. Another disadvantage of known ballistic equipped underpants is that their protection packages are adapted insufficiently to the areas in the abdomen, which are in fact particularly vulnerable.

The generic document discloses an underwear whose base is composed of a penetration of splinters inhibiting knit fabric made of UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) and a deviating further textile material. The various textile materials or the various zones that make up the underwear are sewn together. This invention was based on the consideration that not all the undergarments from a uniform, the penetration of splinters inhibiting knitwear must be formed, but essentially only the areas that require special protection. In the context of this invention it has therefore been assumed that it is sufficient to use the UHMWPE knitwear in a first zone of the base area which requires special protection. However, it has been found that the protective effect of underwear, which is produced according to the disclosure of the generic document, is still in need of improvement. One problem is that the aforementioned IED explosive devices release their effect in two waves. First, a pressure wave acts on the textile garment, in particular the underwear. As a result, it is bloated and the seams, with which the individual textile surfaces are sewn together, can burst. Although the surfaces intended to ensure a ballistic protective effect remain essentially intact, they are no longer necessarily in the intended places, since all other surfaces may have been destroyed and, in particular, the seams may have been torn. Now, when the second wave, due to the explosion, splinters and dirt act on the body, a ballistic protective effect is no longer reliably given. The splinters and the dirt can thus penetrate into the body.

It has been shown that an overpressure is generated by the first wave, which literally inflates or inflates the textile garment. By this pressure and the inflating bursts the protective clothing. The present invention has for its object to provide a textile garment with a ballistic protective equipment, which solves the disadvantages of the prior art, in particular particularly effectively protects against positioned near the ground unconventional explosive and fire devices that is easy to use and the carrier affected as little as possible.

The inventor has recognized that a seamless connection of the zones can significantly improve the protective effect of the textile garment. A previous problem, namely the bursting of the seams by the pressure wave of an explosion and thus no longer given protective effect of the ballistically protected zones, is thereby avoided.

The inventor has also found that it is very advantageous for the textile garment to be snug against the body of the wearer, particularly when the garment is an undergarment, thereby avoiding the garment being worn by the first compression wave inflates.

The inventor has also recognized and solved another problem of ballistic-protected textiles from the prior art, in particular according to the generic document. If the individual zones are knitted independently of each other and then put together to form a textile garment, inevitably open edges or predetermined breaking points are created. These open edges prevent the forces from being distributed in the best possible way, because the filaments are cut off directly at the edge and the force can only be absorbed by the filaments up to this point of intersection. However, the operation of soft ballistics is based on the absorption and distribution of the kinetic energy occurring. The directly struck threads of the garment are destroyed and / or stretched by the penetration of the bullet and thus distribute the energy to the surrounding threads.

As a result of fabric and scrim being generally produced at right angles, this energy distribution occurs mainly in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Over the crossing points of the fibers, the force is further distributed to the surrounding threads, resulting in a kind of chain reaction. The energy thus continues to spread to the individual threads until the projectile has lost its kinetic energy in the attempt to penetrate the textile layer and becomes stuck.

When cutting the ballistic clothing artificial "breaking points" are created so that the force acting on the threads can only be taken up to the point of intersection. The present invention solves this problem. The individual zones are seamlessly connected to each other, preferably entangled with each other. It is advantageous if the zones of the textile garment each consist of endless running yarns that are not cut off at the edge. Preferably, each zone formed only by a thread. Thus, the goal can be achieved to forward the force of the projectile over the entire textile surface, rather than just over the directly affected area. The thread would thus (theoretically) derive the force almost endlessly, which leads to a reduction in the number of layers, an associated weight reduction and improved trauma values. In addition, the production of a thread is cheaper and more environmentally friendly, since no waste and no additional costs for the assembly of the layers incurred.

The composition of the textile garment of several zones has the advantage that the zones effecting the ballistic protection can be concentrated on the places to be protected accordingly. In the other zones suitable materials can be installed, for example, provide for a thermal regulation or ensure an advantageous elasticity of the garment.

The textile garment is preferably worn in all possible embodiments directly on the skin, that is, the textile garment also serves as an underwear or replaced underwear. In an embodiment as underwear, it may be advantageous if a first zone extends from a front side in one piece to the back and in particular also protects the perineum and the anal region, in particular against splinters which shoot upwards from the floor. The ballistic protection packages of the prior art, which are inserted only in pockets, have almost no protective effect here.

PBO, due to its linear structure and aromatic heterocyclic groups, is a rigid rod-shaped macromolecule (similar to the para-aramid). The manufacture of PBO, however, is very difficult.

The use of Vectran has proven to be suitable. This is a high performance multifilament yarn spun from liquid crystal polymers.

It is advantageous if the first zone and / or the second zone forms at least the part of the textile garment which, when the textile garment is worn correctly, at least partially covers at least one of the following areas of the human body: a) internal organs .
