The term "ballistic protection equipment" should be understood in particular as personal protective equipment for garments worn close to the body that must protect the wearer of the garment from the effects of an explosion and from splinters that are produced by this or they must reduce their effects on the wearer.

Research has shown that military personnel are increasingly suffering lower abdominal injuries and also civilians in crisis areas, particularly in those regions where terrorist activities regularly occur, for example in Afghanistan. One reason for this is that terrorists use improvised explosive devices, so-called IEDs. Most of the time these are explosive devices placed on the ground, which deploy their effect starting from the ground upwards. This produces primary splinters and secondary splinters that particularly injure the lower abdomen. Furthermore, sand, dust and mud particles are accelerated by the explosion. In addition to the explosive devices there is a shock wave and fire.

From the state of the art, for which reference is made to document US 6,961,958 B1, an underwear with bulletproof equipment is known. In this case, the underwear, for example underpants, has pockets into which ballistic protection packages are inserted. The device known from US 6,961,958 B1 protects relatively well against frontal bombardment, but can only insufficiently protect against explosions from the above-mentioned improvised and near-ground explosive devices. Furthermore, the wearer of the undergarment is hampered by the protective packages, for example when lying on the ground or having to crawl forward.

Another drawback of known ballistic-equipped briefs is that their protection packages are only insufficiently adapted to the areas of the lower abdomen, which in fact need particular protection.

The document according to the preamble discloses an underwear whose base surface is composed of a UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) mesh fabric that inhibits the penetration of splinters and other textile material different from this. The various textile materials or the different areas that make up the underwear are sewn together. This invention was based on the consideration that not all underwear should be made of a uniform mesh fabric that inhibits the penetration of splinters, but essentially only those areas that require special protection. Within the framework of this invention, therefore, it has been assumed that it is sufficient to use the UHMWPE mesh fabric in a first area of the base surface that requires special protection. Furthermore, the invention was based on the consideration that unlike the state of the art, as known from document US 6,961,958 B1, in principle the underwear is not made entirely of a material with ballistic protection equipment and then is They include pockets for the accommodation of ballistic protection packages. In contrast, the document according to the preamble discloses that underwear is composed by sewing several different textile materials. In this way it is achieved that the underwear has a relatively low surface weight and nevertheless a good protective effect.

However, it has been found that the protective effect of underwear which is manufactured in accordance with the disclosure of the document according to the preamble, still needs improvement. One problem is that the above-mentioned IED explosive devices release their effect in two waves. First of all, a shock wave acts on the textile garment, particularly the underwear. As a result, it swells and the seams with which the individual textile surfaces are sewn together can burst. Although the surfaces that are to ensure a ballistic protection effect remain essentially intact, they are no longer necessarily in the intended places, since all other surfaces may have been destroyed and, in particular, the seams may be torn. If now with the second wave, due to the explosion, the splinters and the mud affect the body, there is no longer a safe ballistic protection effect. Therefore, splinters and mud can penetrate the body.

It has been shown that an overpressure is generated by the first wave, which actually inflates or inflates the textile garment. Due to this pressure and inflation, the protective garment bursts.

The present invention aims to provide a textile garment with ballistic protection equipment that solves the drawbacks of the state of the art, in particular that protects in a particularly effective way also against improvised explosive devices located near the ground, which it is easy to use and that the wearer looks as uncomfortable as possible.

The inventor has recognized that by seamless connection of the zones the protective effect of the textile garment can be significantly improved. In this way a problem that existed until now is avoided, that is, the bursting of the seams by the shock wave of an explosion and, therefore, that the given protective effect of the ballistically protected areas is no longer had.

Because the textile garment no longer bursts from the shock wave due to the seamless connection, the textile garment is still in the intended position even after the shock wave, so that the first zone, which is formed by a thread that inhibits the penetration of splinters, it can deploy its protective effect in the intended place and protect the wearer of the garment.

Unlike the prior state of the art, the invention also offers the advantage that by making different zones different protection zones or other zones can be formed, so that the textile products can also fulfill other properties, for example thermal regulation. and a security of adaptation to the body.

The inventor has further recognized that it is very advantageous for the textile garment to fit closely to the wearer's body, particularly when the textile garment is underwear, thus preventing the textile garment from being swollen by the first shock wave .

It is also particularly advantageous that the textile garment is designed so that it not only closely conforms to the body of the wearer of the garment with the possibly provided edges, but that the garment is designed so that it as a whole fits Fit closely to the wearer of the garment.

The inventor has also recognized and solved another problem of state-of-the-art ballistic-protected textile products, in particular according to the document according to the preamble. If the individual areas are knitted independently of each other and then assembled to form a textile garment, the edges or predetermined break points inevitably open. These open edges prevent the acting forces from being distributed in the best possible way, since the filaments are cut directly at the edge and the force can only be absorbed by the filaments up to this cutting point. However, the functionality of soft ballistics is based on the absorption and distribution of the kinetic energy that is produced. The threads of the garment that are directly hit are destroyed and / or stretched by the penetration of the bullet and thus distribute the energy to the surrounding threads. Since the fabric and mesh are generally manufactured at right angles, this energy distribution occurs mainly in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Through the crossing points of the fibers, the force continues to be distributed to the surrounding yarns, which leads to a kind of chain reaction. In this way, the energy continues to expand to the individual threads until the bullet has given up its kinetic energy in attempting to penetrate the textile layer and remains embedded.

When bulletproof clothing is trimmed, artificial "default break points" are created so that the force acting on the threads can only be absorbed up to the cutting point. The embodiment described above in which the individual zones are seamlessly joined together, preferably woven together, solves this problem. It is advantageous in this case that the areas of the textile garment consist respectively of endless threads which are not cut at the edge. Preferably, each zone consists of only one wire. Therefore, the objective of redirecting the force of the bullet that is produced through the entire textile surface, rather than only on the directly affected surface, can be achieved. Thus, the thread would drift the force (theoretically) almost without end, leading to a reduction in the number of layers, an associated weight reduction and improved trauma values. In all possible embodiments the textile garment is preferably worn directly on the skin, that is, the textile garment also serves as undergarments or substitutes for undergarments.

It is advantageous if a second zone is produced which has a higher ballistic protection effect than the first zone. The use of UHMWPE has been found to be very suitable in ballistics and has already been proposed in the document according to the preamble.

Essentially the use of PBO is also possible. PBO is an isotropic crystalline polymer fiber that belongs to the polybenzazoles. PBO, due to its linear structure and aromatic heterocyclic groups, is a rigid rod-shaped macromolecule (similar to para-aramid). The manufacture of PBO, however, is very complicated.

The use of Vectran® has proven to be adequate. It is a high performance multifilament yarn that is spun from liquid crystal polymers.

The ribs are made of an elastic and skin-friendly material. The flanges are preferably seamlessly attached to the rest of the textile garment, in particular the T-shirt, jersey or long-sleeved shirt.

Instead of synthetic materials in the net, jersey and hems, viscose or cotton or other known skin-friendly materials can also be used. For the additional flame retardant property (FR property) a special yarn can be used which is also preferably skin-friendly.

All the variants that have been previously described in detail using UHMWPE can also be made with the help of aramid as a bulletproof material. This is particularly suitable due to the flame retardant properties. It may also be advantageous to use a yarn from 420 dtex to 550 dtex.

The regions that should preferably be at least partially protected or in which it may be advantageous to form the first zone or the second zone, are arteries and veins, internal organs-abdomen and urinary tract, external and internal genital organs. The areas in which a reduced degree of protection is offered, that is to say the comfort region, are in particular the regions of the muscles and the bones. Here the other area can preferably be realized.

The first and second zones can be manufactured, at least in part, preferably by a plating technique. It is advantageous if the inner side is made of UHMWPE or aramid or Vectran® and the outer side is woven with a fire-retardant material and is possibly printed with a camouflage print.

In an embodiment of the textile garment such as a T-shirt or jersey, it may be advantageous that a central region of the front side, that is to say the chest and / or the central region in the back, is manufactured by another zone that implements a comfort region. Typically, this region is sufficiently protected by a bulletproof vest, so that the jersey or jersey does not have to assume any ballistic protection function here. It is also advantageous if the jersey is worn together with a sock, a stocking, a glove, an under glove and possibly a bra according to the invention. This results in a comprehensive protective equipment for the wearer which is particularly advantageous.

It is also advantageous that in the case of a single-layer structure the first zone has a surface weight of at least 150 g / m2, preferably 200 g / m2, particularly preferably 250 g / m2, and very particularly preferably of 300 g / m2, in particular 350 g / m2. It is advantageous that the surface weight is less than 700 g / m2, preferably less than 600 g / m2. A surface weight of 360 g / m2 to 600 g / m2, in particular 400 g / m2 to 600 g / m2, has been found to be especially suitable.

It is advantageous that the thickness of the yarn used for the manufacture of the first UHMWPE zone is at least 50 dtex, preferably at least 80 dtex, particularly preferably at least 200 dtex. It is advantageous that the thickness of the yarn used for the manufacture of the first UHMWPE zone is less than 880 dtex, preferably less than 700 dtex. Inner gloves, gloves, socks, stockings or bras that have a knitted fabric with ballistic protection equipment are unknown in the state of the art. The embodiment according to the invention of the aforementioned textile products increases the complete protection of the wearer against injuries, without limiting the comfort when wearing them.

Figure 1 shows a textile garment with ballistic protection equipment in one embodiment as boxer shorts 100. The boxer shorts 100 are made as a knitted fabric and have several different zones 1, 2, 3. Zones 1,2,3 are seamlessly connected to each other. At least a first zone 1 is formed by a thread 5 that inhibits the penetration of splinters. An example of an embodiment of the splinter-inhibiting yarn 5 is shown in Fig. 9. A multifilament yarn (multifilament yarn) is provided. A particularly suitable UHMWPE is marketed under the trade name Dyneema® by the Dutch multinational chemical company Royal DSM N.V. Dyneema® is a high strength polyethylene fiber with a tensile strength of 3-5 GPa. Dyneema® is a highly stretched, highly crystalline UHMWPE. Dyneema® fiber is particularly suitable for the manufacture of the first zone 1 provided according to the invention, although the invention is not limited thereto.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, it is provided that the particularly vulnerable areas of the underpants wearer 100 are formed by a second area 2. The second area 2 is also made of a thread 5 that inhibits the penetration of splinters, which in the following is also referred to generally (but not in a limiting way) by UHMWPE (this also applies to the other embodiments). In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, three zones 1 separated from each other and three zones 2 separated from each other are provided.

For the arrangement, construction and division of the first zone 1 and the second zone 2, reference is made to the representation in Figures 1 and 2. Essentially it is also possible that in the regions in which the first zone is represented in the exemplary embodiment zone 1 or the second zone 2 in general, only one zone is produced, specifically zone 1, but optionally also there in an embodiment as a spacer knit or in an embodiment with a layer, two or more zones can be produced. The exemplary embodiment should not be understood to mean that a zone 2 must necessarily be provided. For example, one of the yarns 5 can be made of a high-strength material, preferably a yarn that inhibits splinters in the embodiment already described with the variants already described, while the second yarn 5 is a fire-retardant yarn. A coiled thread 7 is to a great extent suitable for the realization of the other zone 3, since in this way a certain minimum ballistic protection can also be realized.

As can be further deduced from FIGS. 1 and 2, the underpants 100 represented there have ridges 4, the ridges 4 having an elastic thread 6 or being formed by an elastic thread 6. Advantageously there is particularly high elasticity in this region. A fire-retardant embodiment can again be provided here. As for the thread that is used for the manufacture of the flanges 4, it can again be a wound thread with a suitable structure.

Here it is also possible to use a material that is typically used for the manufacture of flanges, which in particular has a particularly high elasticity.

By way of example, in FIG. 1 a seam 8 is shown. This seam 8 serves only to produce a circumferentially closed textile body from the seamless knitted textile fabric, according to FIG. 1 underpants. This depends on the knitting machine. In the exemplary embodiment, the use of a flat knitting machine is foreseen, in which the ends of the knitted fabric manufactured flat and without seams must be joined together to form a closed textile body. With regard to the construction, arrangement and division of the zones 1, 2, 3 and the flanges 4 provided, reference is preferably made to the representation in Figures 3 and 4.

Analogously to the underpants 100, it can also be provided in the case of the undershirt 200 that the first zone 1 is constructed as described with respect to the second zone 2 of the underpants 100.

The realization of the second zone 2 is optional in the shirt 200 shown in Figures 3 and 4. In the shirt 200 shown, the second zone 2 has only one special function. The second zone 2 is provided to form a conveyor belt or a rescue handle 9 with which it should be possible to lift the wearer of the jersey 200 or transport him out of the danger zone in the event of an injury. In this exemplary embodiment, the carrying strap 9 extends from the back over the chest and / or from the back below the armpits to the shoulder above and behind the neck of the wearer when the shirt 200 is used correctly. In an embodiment as T-shirt 200 according to FIGS. 3 and 4, it is optionally provided that two padding 10 are made in the shoulder area to facilitate the transport of backpacks or pencil cases. These can be produced by applying a separate pad or so that the knitted fabric has a corresponding configuration in this region, for example also by forming a spacer knit fabric, in particular without providing a ballistic protection effect here.

Two different configurations of the other zone 3 are also provided, which is then subdivided into another zone 3 or another zone 3a. The other zone 3 differs from zone 3a in that in the other zone 3, in addition to the use of an elastic thread 6, the use of a high-strength thread, in particular a UHMWPE thread 5, is also provided, preferably so that it is used a wound wire 7 as represented for example in FIGS. 7 and 8.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the other zone 3a preferably does not have a high-resistance wire. In the zone 3a, which is located in the upper part of the head of the head covering 300, an elastic knitted fabric of the net type is provided, that is to say, preferably a mesh that is preferably breathable and in particular elastic. A wound yarn 7 can be used in this case, but preferably without the high-strength yarn.
