Description

放電装置
 本発明は、放電装置に関し、特に、電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極を備える放電装置に関する。
 放電現象を利用したイオン発生装置を搭載した機器は多種多様であり、その使用環境も様々である。現在、放電電極を固定した基板や放電電極そのものを樹脂などの構造物に固定し、その周辺を絶縁物で覆う構造を持った、放電装置が開発されている。
 放電現象で使用している電極は現在、金属針が主流となっており、SUS、タングステン、またはニッケル合金製などの放電電極が実用化されている。放電電極の少なくとも胴体部分は、基板への半田付けのため、錫、ニッケルメッキなどが表面に加工されている。金属針の先端でコロナ放電を発生させて、イオンを生成している。
 特開2010-77462号公報(特許文献1)に記載の装置によると、金、銀、チタンなどの遷移金属の単体もしくは合金、または遷移金属をメッキ処理した部材で放電電極を構成し、遷移金属の微粒子を外部に放出し、抗菌作用を得ている。
 特開2007-27074号公報(特許文献2)には、金属に金メッキ加工を施した針状電極を使用することで、低電圧でもより効果的にコロナ放電発生を高め、マイナスイオンやオゾンをより多くの量発生できるようにした、放電電極針が開示されている。

 結露の発生し得る高湿度環境、および塩分を含んだ海岸付近などの過酷環境において、金属を部材とする放電電極を使用して放電すると、放電電極に使用している金属の一部が、ごくわずかではあるが周囲に溶出する。この溶出した成分によって、放電電極と異極性となる電極、または放電装置のケースなど、放電部以外の部分に電流が流れ、本来の放電部での放電性能を低下させる懸念がある。
 本発明は上記の課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、その主たる目的は、高湿度環境や塩分を含む大気環境においても、長期に亘って安定した放電性能を維持できる、放電装置を提供することである。
 本発明の第1の局面に係る放電装置は、電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、放電電極を支持する基板と、放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、基板および誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備えている。放電電極は、基板により支持された根元部と、絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、根元部から尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有している。根元部の外周面は、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料製である。
 好ましくは、根元部が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料で形成されている。
 好ましくは、根元部が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料でめっきされている。

 本発明の第2の局面に係る放電装置は、電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、放電電極を支持する基板と、放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、基板および誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備えている。放電電極は、基板により支持された根元部と、絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、根元部から尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有している。放電装置はさらに、根元部の外周面に密着する絶縁チューブを備えている。
 好ましくは、絶縁チューブの表面は、撥水性を有している。
 好ましくは、放電装置は、絶縁チューブと絶縁物との間を密封する封止部をさらに備えている。
 好ましくは、絶縁物に絶縁チューブの一部が埋め込まれている。
 本発明の第3の局面に係る放電装置は、電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、放電電極を支持する基板と、放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、基板および誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備えている。放電電極は、基板により支持された根元部と、絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、根元部から尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有している。放電装置はさらに、根元部の外周面を覆う撥水コーティング層を備えている。
 好ましくは、撥水コーティング層は、絶縁物を覆っている。
 好ましくは、放電装置は、撥水コーティング層の表面に洗浄液を供給する洗浄液供給部をさらに備えている。
 本発明の放電装置によれば、高湿度環境や塩分を含む大気環境においても、金属成分の溶出を抑制できるので、長期に亘って安定した放電性能を維持することができる。

 以下、図面に基づいてこの発明の実施の形態を説明する。なお、以下の図面において、同一または相当する部分には同一の参照番号を付し、その説明は繰返さない。
 (実施の形態1)
 図1は、実施の形態1の放電装置100の構成を示す斜視図である。図1を参照して、放電装置100は、複数の放電電極11と、本体ケース2とを備えている。放電電極11は、針状の形状に形成されている。本体ケース2は、放電装置100の外観をなす筺体として設けられている。本体ケース2は、矩形状の容器部1を有している。容器部1は、その内部に、有底の中空空間を規定している。容器部1の内部空間には、樹脂材料である絶縁物14が充填されている。本体ケース2はまた、放電電極11の周囲に配置された電極保護壁3を有している。電極保護壁3は、放電電極11を保護するために設けられている。
 図2は、図1に示す放電装置100の、放電電極11付近を示す断面図である。図2を参照して、放電電極11は、基板15により支持された根元部11aと、尖鋭な形状の尖端11bと、根元部11aから尖端11bへ向けて先細るテーパ部11cとを有している。根元部11aは、尖端11bに対し反対側の放電電極11の基端を有している。根元部11aの一部は、絶縁物14の内部に埋め込まれている。根元部11aの下方部分は、絶縁物14により封止されている。尖端11bは、絶縁物14の表面14sから突出している。
 絶縁物14の内部には、誘導電極(対向電極)12および基板15が埋め込まれている。放電電極11は、基板15によって支持されている。誘導電極12は、放電電極11の周囲の、放電電極11から離れた位置に配置されている。基準電位をなす誘導電極12は、金属などの導体材料により形成されている。誘導電極12および基板15は、その全部が絶縁物14の内部に埋め込まれており、絶縁物14によって密閉されている。
 絶縁物14としては、エポキシ樹脂などの熱硬化性樹脂、または、ゴム系高分子材料を溶剤にとかしたコーティング材料を充填するのが好ましい。絶縁物14は、誘導電極12および基板15を十分に密閉できる程度の厚さを有していることが好ましい。
 基板15は、平板状の形状を有しており、本体ケース2の容器部1の底面と平行に配置されている。基板15は、放電側の表面をなす主表面15aと、主表面15aに対して反対側の裏面15bとを有している。基板15の主表面15aおよび裏面15bは、絶縁物14によって覆われている。基板15には、基板15を厚み方向に貫通して主表面15aから裏面15bに至る貫通孔が形成されている。基板15に形成されている貫通孔は、その内壁面に導体が形成されたスルーホールビアであってもよい。
 放電電極11は、基板15に形成された貫通孔に挿通されている。放電電極11の根元部11aが、たとえば半田付けにより基板15に固定されることで、放電電極11は基板15により支持されている。放電電極11の、尖端11bと反対側の他方端は、基板15の裏面15bから突出している。放電電極11は、基板15を貫通した状態で基板15に支持されている。基板15の主表面15aおよび裏面15bには、配線パターンが形成されている。放電電極11は、半田により、基板15に形成された配線パターンまたはリード線に、電気的に接続されている。
 図2に示す例では、基板15を貫通する状態の放電電極11が図示されているが、基板15の主表面15a上に放電電極11が搭載されているような状態でも構わない。
 放電装置100は、放電電極11に高電圧を印加し誘導電極12との間に電位差を生じさせることで、放電電極11の尖端11bからコロナ放電を発生させ、イオンを発生する。放電電極11の尖端11bが絶縁物14の表面14sから突出していることにより、尖端11bで発生したイオンを速やかに搬送できる構成とされている。
 放電電極11に印加する高電圧を生成する回路は、放電装置の本体ケース2内に存在するのであれば、本体ケース2で覆われるか、絶縁物14で密閉されているのが望ましい。そうすることで、高電圧を生成する回路が過酷環境に触れるのを防ぎ、電極部以外のところでリークが発生するのを抑制することができる。また、基板15を介して放電電極11に電圧を印加するようにしてもよい。
 また、放電電極11に印加する高電圧を、放電装置100の外部より供給しても構わない。その場合、放電電極11に高電圧を供給するための基板やコネクタなどの経路を、絶縁物、耐水性のゲル、または絶縁チューブ等で密閉させるとよい。そうすることで、当該経路周辺が過酷環境に触れるのを防ぎ、電極部以外のところでリークが発生するのを抑制することができる。
 放電電極11に印加する高電圧はパルス電圧を基本としているが、直流電圧でも構わない。また、電圧は放電が起こる限り、どの大きさでも構わない。
 図1に示すように、放電装置100が複数の放電電極11を備えているとき、一方の放電電極11にはプラスの電圧を印加し、他方の放電電極11にはマイナスの電圧を印加し、正イオンと負イオン両方同時に発生させるのが良い。また、一つの放電電極11に、プラスの電圧とマイナスの電圧を交互に与え、一つの放電電極11から正イオンと負イオンとの両方を生成しても構わない。
 図2に示す例では、誘導電極12は、放電電極11に対し左右二か所に位置しているが、電位の基準になれば、形状、配置は問わない。また、誘導電極12は、板金、針金などといった金属物であってもよいし、基板15上に印刷したパターンでもよく、電位の基準になるのであれば、誘導電極12の材質は問わない。
 放電電極11は本実施例では針形状であるが、細線や極細線でも構わない。また、放電可能な形状であれば、細い板状で先がとがった形状でも構わない。
 放電電極11は、金属などの導体材料により形成されている。放電電極11は、少なくとも根元部11aの外周面11sが、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料製である。放電電極11の根元部11aが、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料で形成されていてもよい。放電電極11の全体が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料で形成されていてもよい。または、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sもしくは放電電極11の全体の外周面が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料でめっきされていてもよい。水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料は、金、パラジウム、白金、および銀からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属であってもよい。
 以上説明した、実施の形態1の放電装置100によると、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sが、水を構成する水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料製である。放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sを構成する金属が、水よりもイオン化しにくい性質を有しているために、水へ溶出しにくくなっている。そのため、放電電極11を構成する金属成分の溶出を抑制することができる。
 加えて、放電電極11を支持する基板15と、放電電極11に対して異極となる誘導電極12との全部が、絶縁物14によって密閉されている。そのため、放電電極11を構成する金属材料が仮に溶出したとしても、溶出した成分が基板15または誘導電極12に付着することを抑制できる。したがって、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合においてもリークの発生を抑制できるので、高湿度環境や塩分を含む大気環境においても、放電装置100の放電性能を長期に亘って安定して維持することができる。
 (実施の形態2)
 図3は、実施の形態2の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態2の放電装置100と、上述した実施の形態1の放電装置100とは、基本的に同様の構成を備えている。しかし、実施の形態2の放電装置100は、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sに密着する絶縁チューブ13をさらに備えている点で、実施の形態1とは異なっている。
 絶縁チューブ13は、絶縁性を保持しており、放電電極11の根元部11aを覆い、可能な限り放電電極11に密着できる内径を有している。絶縁チューブ13は、たとえば熱収縮チューブであってもよい。放電電極11の根元部11aの外径よりも細く収縮する熱収縮性の絶縁チューブ13を選定して、絶縁チューブ13に十分に熱を加えることにより、絶縁チューブ13を放電電極11の外周面11sに密着させることができる。または絶縁チューブ13は、弾性変形可能なチューブであって、放電電極11の根元部11aの外径よりも小さい内径を有しているチューブであってもよい。
 絶縁チューブ13は、放電電極11の根元部11aの全体を覆う長さを有しているのが好ましいが、根元部11aの外周面11sのうち尖端11b側の一部が露出していてもよい。他方、絶縁チューブ13は、放電電極11のテーパ部11cの周囲を覆わない程度の長さを有しているのが望ましい。テーパ部11cの外周面と絶縁チューブ13との間に隙間が形成されると、当該隙間に水分が滞留して、放電電極11の金属成分が溶出しやすくなるためである。つまり、絶縁物14の表面14sから突出する根元部11aの長さが、絶縁物14の表面14sから絶縁チューブ13が突出する長さよりも、大きいことが望ましい。
 絶縁チューブ13の厚さは問わないが、針形状の放電電極11と誘導電極12との位置関係に影響が出ない程度の厚さであるのが好ましい。
 絶縁チューブ13の表面13sは、撥水性を有する材質で形成されるのが好ましい。たとえば、ポリオレフィン、フッ素系ポリマー、熱可塑性エラストマーやPTFE(四フッ化エチレン樹脂)などで、絶縁チューブ13の表面13sを形成してもよい。または、含フッ素コーティング剤などで、絶縁チューブ13の表面13sを加工してもよい。
 以上説明した、実施の形態2の放電装置100によると、絶縁チューブ13を放電電極11に密着させることで、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sが直接周辺の環境に曝露されることを防止できる。そのため、高湿度環境や塩分を含む大気環境においても、放電電極11を構成する金属成分の溶出を抑制することができる。
 加えて、絶縁チューブ13は、放電電極11を構成する金属材料が仮に溶出したとしても、溶出した成分を絶縁チューブ13の内部に留め、溶出した成分が基板15または誘導電極12に付着することを抑制する機能を有している。したがって、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合においてもリークの発生を抑制できるので、放電装置100の放電性能を長期に亘って安定して維持することができる。
 (実施の形態3)
 図4は、実施の形態3の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態3の放電装置100は、絶縁チューブ13と絶縁物14の表面14sとの間を密封する封止部16をさらに備えている点で、実施の形態2とは異なっている。
 本実施の形態では、絶縁チューブ13の根元を絶縁性の封止部16で封止し、絶縁物14と絶縁チューブ13の間を密閉している。そうすることで、放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13との間に隙間ができないようにし、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sが直接周辺の環境に曝露されることを防ぐことが可能となる。また、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合でも、溶出した成分が絶縁チューブ13より外に流出するのを防ぎ、異極性となる電極または本体ケース2へのリークを防ぐことが可能となる。
 封止部16は絶縁物14と同じ部材でも構わないし、異なる部材でも構わない。具体的には絶縁性の接着剤を放電電極11の根元に十分な厚さで塗ることによって封止部16を形成しても構わない。
 封止部16は絶縁チューブ13と絶縁物14との両方に隣接し、密着しているのが好ましい。そうすることで、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sが直接周辺の環境に曝露されることを防ぐことが可能となる。また、放電電極11の溶出した成分が流出するのをより確実に防ぐことが可能となる。
 (実施の形態4)
 図5は、実施の形態4の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態4の放電装置100では、絶縁チューブ13の一部が絶縁物14の内部に埋め込まれている。そうすることで、実施の形態3で説明した封止部16がなくとも、絶縁チューブ13の根元を密閉でき、確実に放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sが直接周辺の環境に曝露されることを防ぐことが可能となる。また、放電電極11の溶出した成分の外部への流出を防ぐことが可能となる。
 本実施の形態では、絶縁物14は、時間経過とともに硬化する性質、または熱硬化性を有するものが好ましい。そうすれば、絶縁物14を容器部1の内側に充填した後、絶縁物14の硬化を行なう前に、絶縁チューブ13を放電電極11に取り付け、絶縁物14に埋め込み、その後絶縁物14の硬化を行なうことで、本実施の形態の放電装置100を作成することが可能となる。
 (実施の形態5)
 図6は、実施の形態5の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態5の放電装置100では、放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13の間に、他の絶縁物としての絶縁物17を設け、絶縁物17を介在させて放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13とを密着させている。そうすることで、放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13の間の隙間をさらに少なくすることが可能となり、より放電電極11を過酷環境にさらすのを防ぐことが可能となる。
 絶縁物17は、絶縁物14と同じ部材でも異なる部材でも構わない。絶縁物17は放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13の間の隙間を埋めるように充填される必要があるため、充填時は液状で、時間経過とともに硬化する性質、または熱硬化性を持つものが好ましい。
 絶縁物17を放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13の間に充填する際、気泡が入らないように上から充填する方法でも、毛細管現象を利用して、根元から吸い上げるような方法でも構わない。
 絶縁物17は可能な限り絶縁チューブ13と同じ高さまで充填されていることが好ましい。同じ高さ以上であれば、絶縁チューブ13よりはみ出していても問題ない。そうすることで、放電電極11と絶縁チューブ13の間の隙間を埋めることが可能となる。
 図6では絶縁チューブ13の根元は絶縁物14の表面14s上に乗った状態であるが、実施の形態3で説明したように絶縁チューブ13の根元を封止部16で封止してもよく、または、実施の形態4のように絶縁物14に絶縁チューブ13の一部が埋め込まれている構成でも構わない。
 (実施の形態6)
 図7は、実施の形態6の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態6の放電装置100は、絶縁物14の表面14sを覆う撥水コーティング層18をさらに備えている点で、実施の形態1とは異なっている。
 撥水コーティング層18の表面18sは、撥水性を有している。ここで、撥水性とは、固体材料の表面と水滴との接触する角度(接触角)によって表わされ、水滴との接触角が90°より大きい場合を撥水性という。撥水コーティング層18は、撥水コーティング層18の表面18sにおける水滴との接触角が90°より大きくなるように処理を施すことにより、形成されている。
 絶縁物14の表面14sを覆う撥水コーティング層18を設けることにより、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合でも、溶出した成分を含む水滴は、撥水コーティング層18上に存在する。放電装置100を使用するユーザが清掃する場合、放電電極11の溶出した成分を容易に撥水コーティング層18上から取り除くことができる。したがって、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合においても、溶出した成分の滞留を防ぐことができ、リークの発生を抑制できるので、放電装置100の放電性能を長期に亘って安定して維持することができる。
 (実施の形態7)
 図8は、実施の形態7の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態7の放電装置100では、撥水コーティング層18は、絶縁物14の表面14sを覆うとともに、放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sを覆っている。
 放電電極11の根元部11aの外周面11sを覆う撥水コーティング層18を設けることにより、塩分を含んだ水滴が放電電極11の周辺の撥水コーティング層18に付着したとしても、撥水性のために水滴は速やかに放電電極11から遠ざけられる。放電電極11への水分の接触を抑制できるため、放電電極11を構成する金属の水への溶出を抑制することができる。したがって、高湿度環境や塩分を含む大気環境においても、放電装置100の放電性能を長期に亘って安定して維持することができる。
 (実施の形態8)
 図9は、実施の形態8の放電装置100の断面図である。実施の形態8の放電装置100は、撥水コーティング層18の表面18sに洗浄液21を供給する洗浄液供給部20をさらに備えている点で、実施の形態1とは異なっている。洗浄液21は、洗浄水であっても他の液体であってもよく、洗浄液供給部20はポンプであってもよい。
 洗浄液供給部20を用いて撥水コーティング層18の表面18sに洗浄液21を吹きかけることにより、表面18sに付着した付着物を容易に洗い流すことが可能になる。撥水コーティング層18の表面18sの清掃を自動化できるので、放電装置100を使用するユーザに清掃の負担を強いることなく、放電電極11の溶出した成分を容易に撥水コーティング層18上から取り除くことができる。したがって、放電電極11の成分が溶出した場合においても、溶出した成分の滞留を防ぐことができ、リークの発生を抑制できるので、放電装置100の放電性能を長期に亘って安定して維持することができる。
 実施の形態2~8の放電装置100では、放電電極11の金属成分が溶出した場合でも、絶縁チューブ13で溶出した成分の流出を防止する、または、撥水コーティング層18のために溶出した成分の滞留を防止することができる。そのため、実施の形態1の、外周面11sが水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい材料で形成された放電電極11を使用する必要はない。放電電極11の材料として貴金属を用いる必要がないため、より安価な放電電極11を使用することが可能になる。
 以上のように本発明の実施の形態について説明を行なったが、各実施の形態の構成を適宜組み合わせてもよい。また、今回開示された実施の形態はすべての点で例示であって、制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。この発明の範囲は上記した説明ではなくて請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味、および範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。
 本発明は、イオン発生装置、オゾン発生装置、除電装置などの、放電装置を備える各種の装置に広く適用され得る。

  1.  電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、
     前記放電電極を支持する基板と、
     前記放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、
     前記基板および前記誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備え、
     前記放電電極は、前記基板により支持された根元部と、前記絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、前記根元部から前記尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有し、

  2.  前記根元部が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい前記材料で形成されている、請求項1に記載の放電装置。
  3.  前記根元部が、水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい前記材料でめっきされている、請求項1に記載の放電装置。
  4.  水素よりもイオン化傾向の小さい前記材料は、金、パラジウム、白金、および銀からなる群から選択される少なくとも1種の金属である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の放電装置。
  5.  電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、
     前記放電電極を支持する基板と、
     前記放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、
     前記基板および前記誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備え、
     前記放電電極は、前記基板により支持された根元部と、前記絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、前記根元部から前記尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有し、
     さらに、前記根元部の外周面に密着する絶縁チューブを備える、放電装置。
  6.  前記絶縁チューブの表面は、撥水性を有する、請求項5に記載の放電装置。
  7.  前記絶縁チューブと前記絶縁物との間を密封する封止部をさらに備える、請求項5または6に記載の放電装置。
  8.  前記絶縁物に前記絶縁チューブの一部が埋め込まれている、請求項5または6に記載の放電装置。
  9.  前記放電電極と前記絶縁チューブとの間に他の絶縁物を設け、前記放電電極と前記絶縁チューブとは、前記他の絶縁物を介在させて密着されている、請求項5~8のいずれか1項に記載の放電装置。
  10.  電圧が印加されて放電する放電電極と、
     前記放電電極を支持する基板と、
     前記放電電極から離れて配置された誘導電極と、
     前記基板および前記誘導電極の全部を密閉する絶縁物とを備え、
     前記放電電極は、前記基板により支持された根元部と、前記絶縁物の表面から突出する尖端と、前記根元部から前記尖端へ向けて先細るテーパ部とを有し、
     さらに、前記根元部の外周面を覆う撥水コーティング層を備える、放電装置。
  11.  前記撥水コーティング層は、前記絶縁物を覆う、請求項10に記載の放電装置。
  12.  前記撥水コーティング層の表面に洗浄液を供給する洗浄液供給部をさらに備える、請求項11に記載の放電装置。
