シリンダ部42は、クランクケース41の前端部に設けられたシリンダブロック47と、シリンダブロック47の前端部に取付けられたシリンダヘッド48と、シリンダヘッド48の前端部の開口部を覆うヘッドカバー49とを備える。シリンダヘッド48は、その上部に吸気装置が接続され、下部に排気装置が接続される。
スイングアーム16の後端部には車軸53を介して後輪17が支持され、スイングアーム16の車軸53より前方の側面には左右一対の同乗者用ステップ54が設けられている。
変速機43の出力軸43aにはドライブスプロケット56が取付けられ、後輪17には一体的にドリブンスプロケット57が取付けられ、ドライブスプロケット56とドリブンスプロケット57とにチェーン58が掛け渡されている。チェーン58は、上部がチェーンカバー59で覆われている。
シートレール24の前部には燃料タンク61が支持され、シートレール24の後部にはシート62が支持されている。燃料タンク61と、メインフレーム22、シートレール24、リアフレーム26で囲まれる側面視略三角形の空間63との両側方は、左右一対の車体カバー64で覆われている。空間63内にはエンジン14の吸気装置を構成するエアクリーナ65が配置されている。
シート62は、前部を構成する運転者用シート62Aと、運転者用シート62Aの後方に配置された同乗者用シート62Bとから構成されている。
左右のシートレール24の後端部にはコ字形状のグラブレール66が接続されている。シートレール24とリアフレーム26との接続部の近傍には左右一対の後部ガセット94が設けられ、左右の後部ガセット94には車幅方向に延びるようにリアクロス部材68が取付けられている。スイングアーム16の後端部とリアクロス部材68との間には左右一対のリアクッションユニット69(図1参照)が渡されて取付けられている。
図1中の符号75は燃料タンク61の左側の下方に配置された燃料コック、76は後輪17の前上方を覆うハガーフェンダ、77は後輪17の後上方を覆うリアフェンダ、78はテールライトである。
左右一対のピボットプレート23は、それらの下端部が車幅方向に延びるクロスパイプ82で連結され、各ピボットプレート23にスタンド28(図1参照)の支軸27(図1参照)を受ける筒状の軸受部83が取付けられている。
前直線部24aは、ヘッドパイプ21の後上部からメインフレーム22の上方を直線状にメインフレーム22と略平行に後方斜め下方へ延びる部分である。左右の前直線部24aの前端部の上面には、板状の前上部ガセット84が溶接にて取付けられている。また、前上部ガセット84は、ヘッドパイプ21の後部にも溶接されているので、ヘッドパイプ21とシートレール24との接合部を補強する補強部材でもある。また、この前上部ガセット84には、後述するように燃料タンク61(図1参照)の前端部が支持される。
後直線部24cは、中間直線部24bの後端部から直線状に後方斜め上方に延びる部分であり、後直線部24cの後端部にグラブレール66が、後直線部24cと側面視一直線になるように溶接にて取付けられている。
前上部ガセット84にはボルト孔(雌ねじ)84aが設けられ、タンク後側支持部材86,86にはボルト(雄ねじ)86a,86aが設けられる。そして、燃料タンク61(図1参照)が、前上部ガセット84及びタンク後側支持部材86,86の3カ所に、締結部材(締結ボルト101、締結ナット102)をボルト穴84a,ボルト86a,86aのそれぞれに締結することで取付けられる。
シート62(図1参照)は、前後方向にほぼタンク後側支持部材86からシートレール24の後端までの長さに形成されている。
次に、燃料タンク61について説明する。
図4は、鞍乗り型車両10を上方から見た図であり、図5は、燃料タンク61を周辺構成と共に車体左前方から見た斜視図である。なお、図4ではシート62を外している。
燃料タンク61は、略直方体の中空形状を有し、安価且つ容易に製作可能な上下分割構造のタンクに形成されている。図1及び図4に示すように、燃料タンク61は、略水平な分割面で分割された上下タンク半体61a,61bを一体に接合して構成される。上タンク半体61aは、下方に開放する相対的に深い容器形状に形成され、下タンク半体61bは、上方に開放する相対的に浅い容器形状に形成される。上下タンク半体61a,61bはそれぞれ鋼板プレス成形品とされ、上タンク半体61aの下方開放端に形成された上フランジと、下タンク半体61bの上方開放端に形成された下フランジとが、互いに重なり合って一体に溶接接合される。この一体結合された上下フランジが、上下タンク半体61a,61b同士を接合する接合フランジ61cを構成する。
詳述すると、図5に示すように、左右一対のシートレール24の前部(前直線部24a)には、シートレール24間を架橋する前上部ガセット84が接合されており、前上部ガセット84に、締結ボルト101を用いて接合フランジ61cの前部が締結される。これにより、燃料タンク61の前部が前上部ガセット84を介してシートレール24に取付けられる。
図7に示すように、左右延出部84bの両端部は、下方に屈曲してその下端が各シートレール24,24の上面に接合されることによって、左右延出部84bの上面、及び、前方延出部84cの上面は、水平に近い角度で後下がりに延びる平坦面(傾斜面)に形成される。この平坦面には、図5に示すように、燃料タンク61の接合フランジ61cの前部が載置され、上方から単一の締結ボルト101を用いて、接合フランジ61cの前部が前上部ガセット84に固定される。
このように、前上部ガセット84を利用して燃料タンク61を固定(接合)するため、専用のタンク支持部材が不要であり、燃料タンク61とヘッドパイプ21との間の狭いエリアに、燃料タンクを効率よく支持させることができる。また、前上部ガセット84を利用するため、燃料タンク61の取付強度(接合強度)を確保し易い。
また、左右のシートレール24及び燃料タンク61の下方、かつ、メインフレーム22よりも上方に空くスペースには、吸気装置の中でも大型部品であるエアクリーナ65(図1参照)を配置するので、エアクリーナ65のレイアウトスペースを確保し易い。さらに、燃料タンク61の下方、エアクリーナ65の前方、且つ、エンジン14の上方に空くスペースには、残りの吸気装置(スロットルボディ、吸気管など)が配置される。これによって、燃料系部品(燃料タンク、不図示の燃料配管)、及び、吸気装置を近接させてコンパクトに配置することができる。
上記したように、本構成の燃料タンク61は、接合フランジ61cを有する上下分割構造であり、この鞍乗り型車両10では、燃料タンク61を覆う左右一対のタンクカバー110L、110Rを備えている。
図8は、タンクカバー110L,110Rを上方から見た図である。
左右一対のタンクカバー110L,110Rは、車幅中心C1を基準に略左右対照形状に形成されており、樹脂材料等の剛性を有する材料で成形されている。各タンクカバー110L,110Rは、燃料タンク61の側方を覆うタンクカバー部112L,112Rと、燃料タンク61の前部を覆う前カバー部114L,114Rと、車体側方を覆うサイドカバー部116L,116Rとを一体に備えている。なお、以下の説明において、タンクカバー110L,110R、タンクカバー部112L,112R、前カバー部114L,114R、及び、サイドカバー部116L,116Rを、左右を区別して表記する必要がない場合は、タンクカバー110、タンクカバー部112、前カバー部114、及び、サイドカバー部116と適宜に表記する。
図1に示すように、左右のタンクカバー部112は、側面視で燃料タンク61の側方全体を覆うように形成され、接合フランジ61cを側方から覆って外観視されることを回避する。このため、燃料タンク61の側面を、外観性や空力特性を考慮した形状にする必要がなくなり、燃料タンク61側面の形状自由度が向上する。また、左右のタンクカバー部112により、燃料タンク61側方の外観形状を自由に設定することができる。
また、左右の上方延出部113L,113Rの端部113L1,113R1は、前後方向に直線状に延びており、より具体的には、車幅中心C1の線(=車幅中心線)に平行に延出する。燃料タンク61は、車幅中心C1上の一部を露出する露出部が上方に凸であって前後方向に延びる段部61L、61Rを有し、それぞれの段部61L、61Rに、端部113L1,113R1が合わせられる。
このように、上方延出部113L,113Rの端部113L1,113R1が直線状に延出するので、端部113L1,113R1を、燃料タンク61に設けた直線状の形状部分(段部61L、61R)に容易に合わせることができる。従って、単純な形状で、燃料タンク61形状とカバー形状の位置合わせをし易くなり、且つ、組み付け時の位置決めをし易くなる。しかも、車幅中心線と平行に延出するので、露出部を帯状にして燃料タンク61とタンクカバー110L,110Rの切り替えがより明確なアクセントとなり、外観性が向上する。なお、上方延出部113L,113Rの左右を区別して表記する必要がない場合、上方延出部113と表記する。
同図4に示すように、左右の前カバー部114L,114Rは、燃料タンク61とヘッドパイプ21との間を車幅方向に延びて、燃料タンク61の前面を覆うため、燃料タンク61前面を、外観性や空力特性を考慮した形状にする必要がない。従って、燃料タンク61前面の形状自由度が向上し、且つ、前カバー部114により燃料タンク61前方の外観形状を自由に設定することができる。
また、図5に示すように、前カバー部114L,114Rは後上がりに傾斜する傾斜板形状に形成される。このため、燃料タンク61の形状に依存せずに、前方からの走行風を後上方に向けて流し易くでき、空気抵抗低減や風切音低減に有利である。
図9(A)では、一方(右側)の前カバー部114Rの先端部に、他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lの先端部が入る段差部141が形成されている。この段差部141に、他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lの先端部が入ることにより、段差部141を形成するように前方にオフセットして車幅方向に延出する延出部分である覆い部142が、他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lの先端部の前方に重なる。なお、この覆い部142は、前カバー部114Lの上下に渡って設けられる。
これによって、図9(A)に示すように、前カバー部114L,114R間に空く隙間Sの前方を覆い部142で覆うことができ、隙間Sが外観視されることを回避できる。また、この隙間Sを空けておくことにより、隙間Sの分だけ前カバー部114L,114Rの寸法誤差を許容することができ、前カバー部114L,114R同士を組み付け易くなる。
この凹部144に、他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lの先端部が入ることにより、凹部144の前側部分を形成するように前方にオフセットして車幅方向に延びる覆い部142が、他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lの先端部の前方に重なる。なお、この覆い部142も前カバー部114Lの上下に渡って設けられる。なお、覆い部142は他方(左側)の前カバー部114Lに設けても良く、また、両方の前カバー部114L,114Rに設けるようにしても良い。
なお、図9(C)の例では、前カバー部114Lの段差部141Rの前側凸部分が、隙間Sを前方から覆う覆い部142として機能する。また、図9(C)の例では、覆い部142の先端を車幅中心C1に揃えるようにしている。これにより、前方から見たときの、前カバー部114L,114Rの境界を車幅中心C1に見せることができる。
また、図4に示すように、リアフレーム下面覆い部117L,117Rは、車幅中心C1までそれぞれ延在しており、リアフレーム下面覆い部117L,117R間の隙間が閉塞される。これによって、サイドカバー部116L,116Rの底面が左右で接続され、後述する収納ボックス119を下方から覆うことができる。
次にハンドル周辺構造について説明する。
図4に示すように、トップブリッジ32は、上面視で後方に凹む略U字状に形成され、車幅中央位置にヘッドパイプ21が連結され、車幅方向両端部に、左右一対のフロントフォーク12が連結される。トップブリッジ32の前面は、後方に凹む凹溝32aを有しており、本構成では、この凹溝32aが後方凸の円弧溝に形成されている。そして、この凹溝32aの前方には、凹溝32aに沿った外形状を有するメータ38が配置される。
このように、トップブリッジ32を、後方に凹むU字状に形成し、このトップブリッジ32に形成される凹溝32a内にメータ38の一部を収容することにより、メータ38をトップブリッジ32に近接させて配置でき、メータ38及びトップブリッジ32をコンパクトに配置できる。また、メータ38を運転者に近づけて配置できる。
同乗者用シート62Bに着座した同乗者が足を置く同乗者用ステップ54は、図4に示すように、スイングアーム16から車幅方向に突出する前後一対のステー部材16sに支持されている。これらステー部材16sは、金属材料で形成され、スイングアーム16に溶接により接合されている。また、同乗者用ステップ54は、図1に示すように、側面視で、車軸53近傍からスイングアーム16の略中間部まで延びる大型ステップに形成されている。この同乗者用ステップ54は、金属板部材などの剛性を有する素材で形成され、締結構造または溶接等によってステー部材16sに接合される。また、同乗者用ステップ54を、ボルトなどの締結部材を用いてスイングアーム16に容易に着脱可能に取付けても良い。
また、この同乗者用ステップ62Bには、鞍乗り型車両10を停車するためのスタンド28を収納状態にした際に、スタンド28が当接する。すなわち、この同乗者用ステップ62Bは、スタンド28を収納状態に位置決めする位置決め部材としても機能する。言い換えると、同乗者ステップ62Bは、スタンド28が当接する位置まで前方に延びることにより、同乗者が足を置き易い大型のステップを構成するとともに、スタンド28の位置決め部材を兼用する。この構成によれば、同乗者の足置性が向上するとともに、スタンド28専用の位置決め部材が不要になり、部品点数を低減することができる。
また、左右の前カバー部114は、車幅中心C1で接合されるので、左右一体で形成した大型のカバーに比べて組み付けがし易く、さらに接合部を外部から目立たない位置にすることができる。
また、ヘッドパイプ21から車体後方に延出する左右一対のシートレール24を有し、各シートレール24の上面部(前部ガセット81上面部、及び、タンク後側支持部材86上面部)に、燃料タンク61の接合フランジ61cが当接して接合され、タンクカバー110は、接合フランジ61cよりも下方に延出して各シートレール24を覆う。これにより、接合フランジ61を利用してタンクカバー110を固定できるとともに、接合フランジ61を外観視させないようにすることができる。また、燃料タンク61の接合フランジ61cより下方部分を、シートレール24間に配置することができるので、燃料タンク61の容量アップを図ることができる。
また、図9(A)及び図9(B)に示したように、左右の前カバー部114L,114R間には、車幅方向に隙間Sが形成されるとともに、少なくとも一方の前カバー部114Rに隙間Sを前方から覆う覆い部142が設けられるので、隙間Sの分だけ左右の前カバー部114L,114Rの寸法誤差を許容することができるとともに、隙間Sを外観視されないようにすることができる。
しかも、左右のタンクカバー部112の上方延出部113の端部113L1,113R1は、直線状に延出するので、燃料タンク61に設けた直線状の形状部分(段部61L、61R)に容易に合わせることができ、単純な形状で、燃料タンク61形状とカバー形状の位置合わせをし易くなり、且つ、組み付け時の位置決めをし易くなる。
さらに、端部113L1,113R1は、車幅中心線に平行に延出するので、露出部を帯状にして燃料タンク61とタンクカバー110L,110Rの切り替えがより明確なアクセントとなり、外観性が向上する。
また、ハンドル36を構成する左右一対のハンドルパイプ36L,36Rが、トップブリッジ32に溶接により接合されているので、従来のハンドルブラケットを省略し、部品点数を低減することができる。
また、一方(右側)のタンクカバー110Rの内側に収納スペースを備え、他方(右側)のタンクカバー110Rで収納スペースに蓋をするようにしたので、タンクカバー110内側を収納スペースに利用しつつ、収納スペース専用の蓋部材を不要にすることができる。
また、スイングアーム16に同乗者用ステップ54を支持したので、同乗者用ステップ54支持用の専用部品を低減でき、且つ、スイングアーム16の強度を利用して同乗者用ステップ54の支持強度を十分に確保することができる。
このように、前カバー部114を、左右のタンクカバー部112と別体とし、燃料タンク61の前面で各タンクカバー部112に接続するようにしても、上記実施形態と同様に、タンクカバー110で覆われる領域を広くすることができる。従って、燃料タンク61の形状自由度を確保しながら一体感のあるタンクカバー110を得ることが可能になる、といった各種の効果を得ることができる。

Claims (12)
- ヘッドパイプ(21)から車体後方に延出するフレーム(24)と、前記フレーム(24)の上方に配置される燃料タンク(61)と、前記燃料タンク(61)を覆うタンクカバー(110)とを備える鞍乗り型車両において、
前記タンクカバー(110)は、前記燃料タンク(61)の左右側面を覆う左右のタンクカバー部(112)と、前記ヘッドパイプ(21)と前記燃料タンク(61)の間に延出して、前記燃料タンク(61)の前面を覆い、左右のタンクカバー部(112)を連結する前カバー部(114)とを有することを特徴とする鞍乗り型車両。 - 前記前カバー部(114)は、左右に分割されて、前記左右のタンクカバー部(112)にそれぞれ一体に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記左右の前カバー部(114)は、車幅中心で接合されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記前カバー部(114)は、前記左右のタンクカバー部(112)と別体であり、前記燃料タンク(61)の前面で前記左右のタンクカバー部(112)に接続することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記燃料タンク(61)は、フランジ接合される上下分割構造であり、前記タンクカバー(110)は、前記燃料タンク(61)の左右側面及び前面のフランジ(61c)を覆うように設けられることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記フレーム(24)は、前記ヘッドパイプ(21)から車体後方に延出する左右一対のフレームであり、前記左右一対のフレーム(24)の上面部に、前記燃料タンク(61)のフランジ(61c)が当接して接合され、前記タンクカバー(110)は、前記フランジ(61c)よりも下方に延出して前記左右一対のフレーム部材(24)を覆うことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記フランジ(61c)の前部には前記フレーム(24)に接合する接合部(101)を有し、前記接合部(101)は、前記前カバー部(114)で覆われることを特徴とする請求項5又は6に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記フレーム(11)の下方で、前記ヘッドパイプ(21)から車体後方に延出するメインフレーム(22)を備え、前記タンクカバー(110)は、前記メインフレーム(22)に沿って車体後方に延出することを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記左右の前カバー部(114)間には、車幅方向に隙間が形成されるとともに、少なくとも一方の前カバー部(114)に、前記隙間を前方から覆う覆い部(142)が設けられることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記左右のタンクカバー部(112)は、前記燃料タンク(61)上面の給油口(61f)を含む車幅中心上の一部を露出するように前記燃料タンク(61)上面を各々覆うように延出する上方延出部(113)を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記左右のタンクカバー部(112)の前記上方延出部(113)の端部(113L1,113R1)は、直線状に延出することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
- 前記端部(113L1,113R1)は、車幅中心線に平行に延出することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の鞍乗り型車両。
