For example, in the example illustrated in FIG. 6, the color values of the pixels corresponding to the representative color values acquired from the output image of the nozzle “x” all correspond to the representative color values acquired from the color sample data. It is the same as the color value of the pixel. Therefore, the value “0” is set as the reference value for all the nozzles “x”.

- the control unit 70 sets a value indicating a difference between the color values of the pixels of the pre-correction data and the color values of the pixels of the color sample data (for example, “ ⁇ 1”, etc.) ) Is set. For example, in the example illustrated in FIG. 6, among the color values of each pixel corresponding to the representative color value acquired from the output image of the nozzle “x + 8”, the color value of the pixel corresponding to the representative color value “5”.
- the value “ ⁇ 1” is set as the reference value corresponding to the representative color value “5”.
- the value “1” is set as the reference value corresponding to the representative color value of “250”.
- the control unit 70 compares the color values for the pixels corresponding to the combinations of all the representative nozzles and the representative color values, sets reference values, and sets the reference values as reference data D as reference data storage unit. 46 is stored.
- a plurality of reference values set in the reference data D correspond to output results corresponding to a plurality of representative color values of a predetermined color output from a plurality of representative output units, and a plurality of representative color values of a predetermined color. It may be set based on the comparison result with the color sample. For example, in the above reference data D setting method, when an output image is obtained, ink is ejected by all the nozzles N, but it is only necessary that ink is ejected by the nozzles N corresponding to the representative nozzles. .
- the color sample data only needs to include at least data indicating color values to be color samples corresponding to combinations of representative nozzles and representative color values.
- the comparison is performed after the pixels corresponding to the combination of the representative nozzle and the representative color value are specified first, but the comparison is performed for all the pixels before the representative nozzle and the representative color are compared. A pixel corresponding to a combination of values may be specified. In the latter case, the representative nozzle and the representative color value can be selected based on the result of comparison for all the pixels.

- the calculation unit obtains a reference value corresponding to the generated memory address (step S5).
- the calculation unit 47 calculates an output value corresponding to the input value by an interpolation process using the reference value acquired according to the memory address generated by the memory address generation unit 45 (step S6). Specifically, the calculation unit 47 uses, for example, the above formula (1) to determine the positional relationship between the nozzle specified by the nozzle specifying unit 42 and the representative nozzle specified by the representative nozzle specifying unit 43, and the input value. The color value indicated by the input value is corrected based on the difference between the indicated color value and the representative color value specified by the representative color value specifying unit 44, and the corrected color value is calculated as the output value O.
- the representative color value is specified after the representative nozzle is specified first. However, the representative nozzle value may be specified after the representative color value is specified first. May be performed simultaneously in parallel.
- FIG. 8 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a process flow relating to the setting of the reference data D.
- the control unit 70 causes the image forming unit 50 to form an output image in a state where the processing by the color processing unit 40 is not performed (step S11).
- the control unit 70 stands by until the output image is read by the reading unit 20 (step S12: NO).
- the control unit 70 acquires image data obtained by reading the output image by the reading unit 20 as pre-correction data (step S13).
- the control unit 70 acquires color sample data (step S14).
- control unit 70 specifies a pixel corresponding to the combination of the representative nozzle and the representative color value for each of the pre-correction data and the color sample data (step S15). Further, the control unit 70 acquires the color value of the specified pixel (step S16). Then, the control unit 70 compares the color value of the pixel corresponding to the combination of the representative nozzle and the representative color value of the pre-correction data with the color value of the pixel corresponding to the combination of the representative nozzle and the representative color value of the color sample data. Is set as a reference value (step S17). - the color value of the color output according to the input value from any of the three or more output units (nozzles N) provided along the predetermined direction is obtained.

- the amount of reference data D can be further reduced. It can be.
- the reference data D having reference values corresponding to the representative color values set for each of them has a data amount of about one-fourth that of data having reference values for all the color values of all the nozzles N. .

- each of a plurality of reference values set in the reference data D may be a value indicating the corrected color value itself that should be specified in order to output a color value corresponding to the input value.
- the calculation unit 47 does not correct the input value, but calculates the output value by two-dimensional interpolation calculation using only the reference value. That is, in this case, the addition (I +) of I in the above equation (1) is omitted.
- the input value and the synchronization signal are generated separately, but this is an example and the present invention is not limited to this.

- the representative nozzle specifying unit 43 specifies the nozzle specified by the nozzle specifying unit 42 as the first nozzle and the first nozzle Any of the nearest representative nozzles may be specified as the second nozzle.
- the calculation coefficient related to the second nozzle since the calculation coefficient related to the second nozzle is 0, the reference value related to the second nozzle is ignored, so the same calculation as in the above embodiment is performed. Results are obtained.

Abstract
Description
色処理部40は、例えば、FPGA(field-programmable gate array)や、ASIC(application specific integrated circuit)等の集積回路からなり、当該集積回路に、生成部31や、色処理部40を構成する各部の機能が実装されている。
