Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of laundry treatment machines, such as in particular tumble or combination devices, so-called washer-dryer, and relates to a filter assembly with a collecting container for receiving impurities separated from rinsing liquid and at least a first and at least one second inlet opening, through which the rinsing liquid into the collecting container can get.
- the laundry treatment appliance is designed as a heat pump tumble dryer and has a laundry drum, in which laundry to be dried is overflowed by warm process air, which absorbs moisture from the laundry.
- the process air leaving the laundry drum passes through a process air lint filter to a heat exchanger (evaporator), at which moisture condenses out of the process air and drips off as condensate into the filter arrangement arranged underneath.
- the laundry to be dried during the drying process in addition to moisture and lint, hair, lint and the like from the process air, which are hereinafter referred to in the context of the present description generally as impurities.
- rinsing liquid a liquid which may preferably be formed by the condensate and which is hereinafter generally referred to as rinsing liquid.
- the rinsing liquid hits bubble-like on the components to be cleaned and rips the contaminants deposited there with.
- the rinsing liquid then passes from the process air lint filter on the one hand or the heat exchanger on the other hand and thus in different ways to a first or a second inlet opening of the filter assembly.
- the rinsing liquid enters through the first or the second feed opening into a collecting container of the filter arrangement, wherein the impurities are deposited in the collecting container through a lint filter (for example a sieve or fleece) and returned to the collecting container. to hold.
- a lint filter for example a sieve or fleece
- the filter arrangement or the lint filter is configured as a so-called life-time lint store and stores the impurities over the service life of the laundry treatment appliance.
- the filter arrangement could also be made removable in such an arrangement, so that the collecting container can be emptied as needed.
- the process air stream can also reach the collecting container via the first feed opening and flow out of the second feed opening (or vice versa).
- the known filter arrangement forms at least for a portion of the process air flow a bypass path (also referred to as a bypass), can flow past the process air at its subsequent site of action, namely the heat exchanger. This reduces its cooling capacity and thus the energy efficiency of the laundry treatment machine.
- DE 10 2009 046 921 A1 discloses a tumble dryer with a lint filter and with a cleaning device which optionally frees a first lint filter located in the process air stream or a heat sink (evaporator of a heat pump) from an impacting lint by surge-like application of a rinsing liquid.
- the rinsing liquid then passes in both rinsing operations in a common container containing a filter bag.
- an object of the present invention is to design a filter arrangement such that it does not impair the cooling performance of the process air stream flowing in the laundry treatment machine or only to a very small extent while maintaining the same performance.
- the first and the second inlet opening lead to partial regions of the collecting container, which are fluid-tightly isolated from one another so that a process air flow between the first and the second inlet opening is prevented by the filter assembly therethrough.
- a plurality of first or second inlet openings may be provided or the inlet openings may be formed for example by a plurality of smaller holes.
- the collecting container has two fluidly separated subspaces for the deposition of impurities.
- at least two separate lint traps receiving subregions of the collecting container are formed and ensured that the first and the second inflow opening are not in fluidic connection, but through the spatial separation of the subregions flowing through the filter arrangement with process air from the first to the second inflow opening (or in the opposite direction) is prevented.
- the collecting container has a central partial area, which is accessible through the at least one first inlet opening, and has two further partial areas arranged laterally next to the central partial area, accessible by at least one second inlet opening are.
- This embodiment allows an optimized adaptation of the capacities of the respective sections to the components to be liberated and flushed by contaminants, such as a lint filter in the process air circuit on the one hand and a heat exchanger in the process air circuit on the other hand.
- contaminants such as a lint filter in the process air circuit on the one hand and a heat exchanger in the process air circuit on the other hand.
- a particularly largely optimized utilization of the total collection volumes available in the collecting container can be ensured with this embodiment.
- the subregions can be structurally particularly simple separated from one another by at least one barrier rib within the filter arrangement.

- FIG. 6 shows a view along the section line Vl-Vl in Figure 5.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 show a first filter arrangement for a laundry treatment machine (not shown), in particular for a tumble dryer or washer-dryer.
- This laundry treatment machine and its process air circulation can be configured in the manner described in the aforementioned DE 10 2010 039 603 A1, to which reference is made in this regard.
- a first inlet opening 2 and two second inlet openings 3a, 3b, which are formed by recesses 4, 5, 6 in the cover 1 can be seen in an upper cover 1 of the filter arrangement.
- the cover 1 may have collecting and inflow channels not shown in more detail, which channels flushing liquid 7, 8 impinging on the upper side to the respective inlet openings.
- a collecting container 10 which serves to receive from the rinsing liquid 7, 8 deposited impurities.
- rinsing liquid 7 arrives in a subspace or subarea 12 of the collecting container 10 and transports or flours previously impurities 14 rinsed and entrained by components of the laundry treating machine to be cleaned.
- the (purified) rinse liquid 7 exits through a sieve 15 in the bottom 16 of the filter assembly down again, the impurities 14 (as only hinted) are retained on the screen and deposited. The contaminants 14 thus remain in the partial area 12.
- FIG. 4 shows the filter arrangement according to FIGS. 1 to 3 without the cover 1.
- a further partial area 20a accessible through the inlet opening 3a (FIG. 1) is separated from the first partial area 12 of the collecting container 10.
- a portion of the bottom 16 is provided with a nonwoven or wire 22a (also visible in Figure 1 through the recess 5).
- the partial regions 12; 20a, 20b are fluid-tightly separated from one another by longitudinally extending separating ribs 28, 29, and are thus fluidically separated from one another.
- process air flowing in through the inlet opening 2 into the collecting container 10 or its partial area 12 does not escape from the filter arrangement again through one of the second inlet openings 3a, 3b and thus bypasses or undesirable the heat exchanger 25 to be flowed through can flow past this, without being cooled in the operationally desired manner with elimination of condensate.
- the inflowing process air flow would accumulate in the partial area or partial collecting space 12, as indicated by the arrows 30 in FIGS. 2 and 3.
- the receiving volume of the subregions 12, 20a, 20b depends in each case in particular on the expected amount of impurities flushed off the respective components and also on the fact that sufficient drainage openings for the rinsing water through the sieves 15, 22 are to be provided.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 show an alternative embodiment of a filter arrangement according to the invention, wherein the same or functionally identical elements with the same reference numerals as in Figures 1 to 4 are provided.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 show a first inlet opening 40, into which flushing liquid 41 enters, which originates from a flushing process of a lint filter 26, which is only hinted at, and which is arranged in the process air stream.
- the rinsing liquid 41 together with impurities 43, reaches a first receiving space or partial area 44 of a collecting container 45 of the filter arrangement. From there, the rinse liquid leaves the filter assembly through a screen 46 as described above leaving the contaminants 43.
- rinsing liquid 48 and possibly also condensate 49 pass from a heat exchanger 25 through a second inlet opening 50 into a second subregion 52 of the collecting container 45.
- impurities 53 are retained on a sieve 54 in the subregion 52.
- the collecting container 45 is divided by a horizontally extending transverse separating rib 55 into the two subregions 44 and 52.
- the collecting space of the filter arrangement according to the invention is subdivided into at least two spaces or regions (lint traps) which are not communicable with one another in terms of flow technology. At least one first region receives the first rinsing liquid stream or its entrained impurities and at least one second region receives the second rinsing liquid stream or its entrained impurities.
