Definitions
- the present invention selectively hydrogenates an olefinically unsaturated double bond-containing compound (hereinafter sometimes simply referred to as an olefin compound) using the hydrogenation catalyst composition and the hydrogenation catalyst composition. (Hereinafter, simply referred to as “hydrogenation”).
- heterogeneous catalysts and homogeneous catalysts are generally known as hydrogenation catalysts used in the hydrogenation step for olefin compounds.
- the former heterogeneous catalyst is widely used industrially, but generally has a lower activity than the latter homogeneous catalyst, and requires a large amount of catalyst to perform the desired hydrogenation reaction. Since it is carried out under high temperature and high pressure, it has the problem of becoming uneconomical.
- the latter homogeneous catalyst usually has a feature that the hydrogenation reaction proceeds in a homogeneous system, so that the activity is higher and the amount of the catalyst used is smaller than in a heterogeneous system, and hydrogenation can be carried out at a lower temperature and lower pressure.
- a polymer containing an olefinically unsaturated double bond is advantageously used for vulcanization or the like, while the unsaturated double bond has such a double bond. It has a disadvantage that it is inferior in stability such as stability. This disadvantage of poor stability is significantly improved by hydrogenating the polymer to eliminate the unsaturated double bond in the polymer chain.
- hydrogenation of a polymer is difficult to hydrogenate because it is affected by the viscosity of the reaction system, steric hindrance of the polymer chain, and the like, compared with hydrogenation of a low molecular compound. Further, after the hydrogenation is completed, it is very difficult to physically remove the catalyst, and there is a drawback that it cannot be completely separated.

- Patent Documents 5 and 6 include a method of hydrogenating a living polymer containing an olefinically unsaturated group by combining a specific titanocene compound and an alkyl lithium. Is disclosed.
- Patent Document 7 discloses a method of hydrogenating olefinic double bonds in an olefinically unsaturated double bond-containing polymer by combining a specific titanocene compound and alkoxylithium. This method further requires an expensive organometallic compound other than alkoxylithium as a reducing agent. Further, Patent Document 8 discloses a method of hydrogenating an olefinically unsaturated double bond-containing polymer by combining a specific titanocene compound, an olefin compound and a reducing agent.
- an olefin compound is hydrogenated by combining a metallocene compound having a pentamethylcycloentadienyl group in which all five hydrogen atoms of a cyclopentadienyl group are substituted with methyl groups and a reducing agent.
- a method is disclosed.

- a more preferable temperature range is 20 to 180 ° C.
- the pressure of hydrogen used for the hydrogenation reaction is preferably 1 to 100 kgf / cm 2 . If the pressure is less than 1 kgf / cm 2 , the hydrogenation rate becomes slow and a sufficient hydrogenation rate may not be obtained. If the pressure exceeds 100 kgf / cm 2 , the hydrogenation reaction is almost completed at the same time as increasing the pressure. Side reactions and gelation may occur.
- the hydrogenation hydrogen pressure is more preferably 2 to 30 kgf / cm 2 , but the optimum hydrogen pressure is selected in relation to the addition amount of the hydrogenation catalyst composition, and the amount of the hydrogenation catalyst composition is substantially small. Accordingly, it is preferable that the hydrogen pressure is selected by selecting the high pressure side.
- the hydrogenation reaction time is usually several seconds to 50 hours. The hydrogenation reaction time and hydrogenation pressure are appropriately selected within the above range depending on the desired hydrogenation rate.
- the olefinic unsaturated double bond of the olefin compound, the conjugated diene copolymer, and the olefinic unsaturated double bond in the copolymer of conjugated diene and vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon are used for the purpose.

Abstract
