- FIG. 10 is an enlarged perspective view of the battery according to the second embodiment.
- FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view of a battery pack containing a battery according to the second embodiment.
- the battery pack 70 includes an upper case 71 (corresponding to a case), a lower case 72 (corresponding to a case), and a battery 73.
- a convex portion 71 a is formed on the upper surface of the upper case 71, and a smoke exhaust path is formed in a space between the convex portion 71 a and the battery 73.
- the smoke exhaust path is a path through which the gas discharged from the battery 73 is discharged to the outside of the battery pack 70 in the event of battery abnormality such as overcharge or overdischarge.
- the upper case 71 and the lower case 72 are integrated by being connected to each other by fastening bolts (not shown).
- the region surrounded by a dotted line in the upper case 71 indicates conduction paths 74 and 75.
- the conduction paths 74 and 75 extend in the X-axis direction, and the heat exchange medium can flow in this direction. That is, the battery 70 generates heat by charging and discharging, and deteriorates if left in this heat generation state. Therefore, when the battery 70 generates heat, the battery 70 can be cooled by flowing cooled air through the conduction paths 74 and 75. In addition, when the battery 70 is at a very low temperature, the internal resistance increases and the input / output characteristics deteriorate. Therefore, when the temperature of the battery 70 is extremely low, the battery 70 can be heated by flowing warm air through the conduction paths 74 and 75.
- the heat exchange medium can be supplied to the conduction paths 74 and 75 by operating a blower (not shown).
- the battery pack 70 can be used as a battery that supplies electric power to a motor that drives the vehicle. In this case, by operating the blower, air inside or outside the vehicle compartment can be sucked and the sucked air can be supplied into the conduction paths 74 and 75.
- the battery 70 has the same configuration as the battery 40 of Modification 1 except that the battery 70 has heat transfer fins 111c.
- the heat transfer fins 111 c extend from the connection conductive plate 111 b through the battery case body 12 and into the conduction path 74 or 75. Therefore, the heat transfer fins 111 c are cooled by the cooling air flowing inside the conduction path 74 or 75. Since the connection conductive plate 111b is cooled by cooling the heat transfer fins 111c, it is possible to suppress an increase in the temperature of the battery 70 that generates heat during charging and discharging. Further, the heat transfer fins 111 c are heated by the hot air flowing inside the conduction path 74 or 75. Since the connection conductive plate 111b is heated by heating the heat transfer fins 111c, the input / output characteristics of the battery 70 in an extremely low temperature state can be improved.
- the heat transfer fins 111c are arranged at positions where they do not overlap each other when viewed from the direction of blowing the heat exchange medium.
- the heat transfer fins 111c located upstream prevent the heat exchange medium from moving, so that the heat transfer fins 111c located downstream are efficiently cooled or heated. It is because it is not possible.
- the heat transfer fins 111c are formed in a flat plate shape, and the front and back surfaces thereof extend in the moving direction of the heat exchange medium. As a result, the contact area between the heat transfer fins 111c and the heat exchange medium increases, so that the temperature of the connection conductive plate 111b can be adjusted efficiently. Moreover, the increase in the pressure loss at the time of blowing a heat exchange medium can be suppressed.
- the smoke exhaust path is provided between the convex portion 71a and the upper surface of the battery module 11, and the conduction paths 74 and 75 are provided between the side surface of the battery module 11 and the upper case 71.
- the smoke exhaust path and the conduction paths 74 and 75 can be separated from each other.
- the battery case body 12 is formed of an insulating material, metal members such as the upper case 71 and the lower case 72 can be brought into contact with the battery case body 12. Thereby, the holding force with respect to the battery module 11 is supplemented by the upper case 71 or the like, and the entire battery module 11 can be efficiently held even when the strength requirements such as transportation regulations are severe.
- step S101 the cells 110 are arranged in a predetermined direction.
- the unit cells 110 are arranged so that the cell positive terminal of one of the adjacent unit cells 110 and the cell negative terminal of the other unit cell 110 are aligned in the predetermined direction.
- the arranged unit cells 110 are positioned using a jig.
- the battery module 11 is manufactured by connecting the adjacent unit cells 110 with the connection unit 111.
- the connection method may be caulking or welding.
- the adjacent unit cells 110 are connected using the connection unit 111, but the clamping member 111 a is connected to the cell positive terminal of one adjacent unit cell 110 and the cell negative terminal of the other unit cell 110 is connected.
- a method of connecting these clamping members 111a by the connecting conductive plate 111b may be used.
- step S103 the battery module 11 is set in a mold having a shape corresponding to the battery case body 12, and the molten resin is injected and injected into the mold, and then cooled and solidified, whereby the battery case body 12 is cooled. Is molded.
- the battery module 11 is pressed into contact with the injected resin, and by performing injection injection while monitoring the pressing force, the battery module is made from the cured resin (that is, the battery case body 12). 11 can be controlled to a desired value.
- the battery module 11 can be restrained with a simple structure as compared with the method of restraining the battery module using the restraining band.
- step S104 the lid 13 made of resin is set in the opening of the battery case main body 12, and the electrolyte is injected into the battery case main body 12 from the electrolyte solution injection port 13a.
- the electrolyte injected into the battery case body 12 flows into the wound body through a gap 111c formed between the connection unit 111 and the cell positive terminal (cell negative terminal) 110a.
- the battery case 12 is provided with a conduction path (not shown) for guiding the electrolyte injected from the electrolyte injection port 13a to the gap 111c.
- step S105 the lid 13 is welded to the inner surface of the battery case body 12 and fixed. According to the above-described method, since the battery module 11 is manufactured in a state where the connection unit 111 is set in the single battery 110, connection reliability can be ensured.
- the leg portion 41 or the like when the leg portion 41 or the like is formed on the case body, it is necessary to provide the mold with a shape portion corresponding to the leg portion 41 or the like. Further, as described in the second embodiment, when the heat transfer fins 111c are formed in the connection unit 111, the tip portions of the heat transfer fins 112 extending into the conduction paths 74 and 75 are made resin in the mold. It is necessary to evacuate from the filling area.
