図1を参照して、本発明による紙折装置は、用紙スタックMから用紙Pを順次供給する給紙部Aと、給紙部Aから供給された用紙Pを給紙方向に直角に折り畳む紙折部Bを備えている。

前記複数のバックルのそれぞれの入口近傍に対向配置され、前記バックルに導入された用紙のうち当該バックルの外にはみ出した部分を折り畳むための一対の回転駆動される排出ローラと、を有し、前の前記バックルに関する前記排出ローラが同時に次の前記バックルに関する前記取込みローラとして機能し、用紙が、前記複数のバックルに順次導入されて、前記バックルの個数に対応する回数折り畳まれる紙折装置において、
前記紙折部の前記ストッパ駆動機構のそれぞれを統括制御する制御部を備え、
前記制御部は、折り畳みエラーが生じた蛇腹状の用紙の最後の折片と残りの折片との長さの差の値の入力を受け、前記長さの差の値を前記バックルの個数によって除算し、前記最後の折片の方が前記残りの折片よりも長いときは、前記ストッパ駆動機構のそれぞれに対し、前記長さの差をゼロにすべく、関係する前記ストッパを前記除算によって得られた長さの値だけ関係する前記バックルの入口から遠ざかる向きにスライドさせる制御命令を送る一方、前記最後の折片が前記残りの折片よりも短いときは、前記ストッパ駆動機構のそれぞれに対し、前記長さの差をゼロにすべく、関係する前記ストッパを前記除算によって得られた長さの値だけ関係するバックルの入口に近づく向きにスライドさせる制御命令を送るものであることを特徴とする紙折装置。
