- the shooting position information is acquired by a GPS receiver built in the camera, an external GPS unit attached to the camera, or the like, and is embedded in the image file when shooting is performed with the camera. It is also possible to embed the shooting position information later in an image file without shooting position information.
- thumbnail images (SN1, SN2,%) Of the image files stored in the designated folder are displayed as a list.
- icons (IC1, IC2,%) For clearly indicating the shooting position are displayed immediately below the corresponding thumbnail image.
- the icon pattern is formed by attaching a point representing the shooting position to a graphic depicting the general shape of the area section including the shooting position of the image.
- the regional classification represented by the icon pattern is “All over Japan” and its subdivision “Prefecture”, and “Continent” when shooting overseas. These icons are called “Japan icon”, “Prefectural icon”, and “Continent icon”, respectively.
- each icon is composed of 32 ⁇ 32 pixels.
- the Japanese icon IC2 in FIG. 3 does not include a remote island, and this is created as follows.
- the easternmost east longitude 145 degrees 49 minutes (Cape Nasafu) Southernmost 30 degrees 59 minutes 10 seconds north latitude (Cape Sata) Westmost 129 degrees 33 minutes east longitude (Kanzaki nose) It is said that.
- the difference between north and south is about 14.54 degrees, and the difference between east and west is about 16.27 degrees, which is long from east to west.
- the horizontal (east-west direction) and vertical (north-south direction) are each divided into 10 sections every 1.627 degrees of 1/10 of the 16.27 degrees east-west difference.
- the icon is 32 ⁇ 32 pixels, 3 ⁇ 3 pixels of the icon are assigned to one divided area obtained by dividing 30 ⁇ 30 pixels excluding the surrounding 1 pixel into 10 parts.
- the color of the pixel the portion corresponding to the sea is a light blue color, and the portion corresponding to the land is other appropriate color (light color is desirable).
- the point PT representing the shooting position is configured to be vertically and horizontally symmetrical with one pixel including the position represented by the shooting position information and several pixels surrounding them (in the figure, a total of 13 pixels are used).
- the pixel is, for example, red so that the shooting position can be clearly recognized.
- the Japanese icon IC3 in FIG. 4 is used when the shooting location is Okinawa or a remote island, and is created as follows.
- Japan the ends of the east, west, north and south, including remote islands that civilians can reach, Northernmost 45 degrees 31 minutes 22 seconds north latitude (Cape Soya) Southernmost 24 degrees 47 minutes 16 seconds north latitude (Haterumajima Takanasaki)

- FIG. 5 shows a Kanagawa prefecture icon IC1, which is a kind of prefecture icon.
- the creation method is almost the same as described above.
- the latitude difference and the longitude difference for the entire prefecture are obtained, and the horizontal (east-west direction) and vertical (north-south direction) are each divided into 10 for each 1/10 of the longer difference, and one divided area.
- the color is almost the same as described above, when a part of another adjacent prefecture is clearly indicated, it is necessary to color-code the part and the prefecture part. The same applies to other prefecture icons.
- FIG. 6 shows a North American continent icon IC5 which is a kind of continental icon.
- This icon IC5 is created by placing a continental figure inside a circle with a radius of 15 pixels representing the earth (being north America because it is North America). The same applies to other continental icons. By clearly showing the earth, you can see at a glance that the image was taken outside of Japan.
- the various icons described above are prepared in advance and are stored in the storage device 31 as a database when the image display program is installed.
- the CPU 11 extracts one of the icons from the storage device 31 based on the shooting position information of each image file, and displays it together with the thumbnail image (details will be described later).
- the map information need not be displayed one by one. Since the icon is about 32 ⁇ 32 pixels, even if the icon is displayed for all thumbnail images, the image display area is not compressed, and a large number of thumbnail images can be displayed at a time. Further, the map information has a huge amount of data, and when it is incorporated into the computer 100, the storage device 31 requires a large free space. When map information is acquired and displayed via a network or the like, a considerable time is required until the display is completed, which is stressful for the user. On the other hand, when an icon is used, a large storage area is not required and display can be performed quickly.
- the user can set one or a plurality of prefectures as designated areas in the environment setting of the image display program in advance.
- the shooting position is roughly displayed with the prefecture icon in detail when the shooting position is the designated area, and roughly with the upper Japan icon when the shooting position is not the designated area.
- the user may set the designated area such as the prefecture where he / she resides, the prefecture where he / she is born, or the prefecture where his / her shape is clearly recognized, or the prefecture where he / she has taken or will take a picture in the past.
- the prefecture should be set as a designated area.
- the Japanese icon may be easier to grasp the shooting position than the prefecture icon. Should not be set as a designated area. The same applies to all upper / lower relationships (for example, relationships between prefectures and municipalities).
- the image display program of this embodiment also has a function of displaying map information as in the prior art and clearly indicating the shooting position on the map. After displaying the thumbnail list, it is possible to switch to the display using the map information as necessary.
- the image display program can search for images using the region name (prefecture name, city name) as a keyword, and displays the icon of the region specified as the keyword when displaying the search results. May be.
- FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing a procedure of thumbnail list display processing by the CPU 11.
- the CPU 11 executes this process according to the image display program.
- step S1 the CPU 11 selects one of the image files in the designated folder as a processing target.
- step S2 it is determined whether or not shooting position information as metadata is embedded in the selected image file. If negative, thumbnail data is read from the image file and displayed in step S3. An icon indicating the shooting position is not displayed.
- step S2 shooting position information is read from the image file in step S4, and an icon indicating the shooting position is prepared based on the shooting position information in step S5.
- step S6 the thumbnail data is read from the image file and displayed, and at the same time, the icon prepared in step S5 is displayed.
- step S7 it is determined whether or not the above processing has been performed on all the image files in the designated folder. If the determination is negative, the next image file is selected in step S1 and the above processing is repeated. If step S7 is affirmed, the list display is completed, and the process is terminated.
- FIG. 8 shows details of the icon preparation process in step S5.
- the CPU 11 first determines whether the shooting position is Japan based on the read shooting position information. If step S51 is affirmed, the process proceeds to step S52, where it is determined whether or not the shooting position indicated by the shooting position information is included in any of the designated areas described above. If step S52 is positive, in step S53, a prefecture icon including the shooting position is prepared and the process returns. This prefecture icon is an icon of a designated area (prefecture) including the shooting position.
- the icon preparation operation in step S53 is an operation of selecting a prefectural icon including the shooting position, with a dot attached to the shooting position, based on the shooting position information.
- an icon without a point PT indicating the shooting position is prepared, and after selecting an icon including the shooting position based on the shooting position information, a location corresponding to the shooting position of the icon You may make it attach
- step S52 determines whether the shooting position is a remote island (more precisely, Okinawa or a remote island). If step S54 is affirmed, the process proceeds to step S55, where a Japanese icon for a remote island (for example, FIG. 4) is prepared and the process returns. If step S54 is negative, the process proceeds to step S56, where a Japanese icon that does not include a remote island (for example, FIG. 3) is prepared and the process returns.
- the point PT representing the shooting position is the same as the prefecture icon.
- step S51 If it is determined in step S51 that the shooting location is not Japan, a continental icon (eg, FIG. 6) is prepared and returned in step S57. The point representing the shooting position is the same as the prefecture icon.
- the user can select any one of the thumbnail images with the mouse 22 or the like, and can perform various processes on the image file corresponding to the selected thumbnail image. For example, when a thumbnail image is selected and double-clicked, the CPU 11 displays a main image corresponding to the thumbnail image in a large size. The CPU 11 also displays an icon indicating the shooting position for the main image. As described above, since the icon display area can be very small, the main image can be displayed larger than when the map information is displayed simultaneously.
- the upper-level icon for example, the designated area
- step S53 of FIG. 8 it is determined whether or not the shooting position is near the boundary of the designated area. If it is determined that it is near the boundary, a Japanese icon that is a higher-level icon is prepared. Prepare icons.
- thumbnail image display size can be changed. In order to display many thumbnail images on one screen, it is necessary to reduce the display size. However, if this is done, the display area of information (including the icons) associated with each thumbnail image is also reduced. When the display size of the thumbnail image is set to be large, the display area of the accompanying information also becomes large. Therefore, in addition to the icon, it may be possible to display the area name indicated by the icon in the vicinity of the icon. In this case, even if the area is not set as the designated area, sub-level icons (prefecture icons, city icons, etc.) may be displayed.
- one type of icon for example, only a prefecture icon may be used.
- the region classification of the icon is changed depending on whether or not the shooting position information included in the metadata of the image file is included in the designated region specified in advance has been described.
- the icon may be displayed with the region division changed according to various other conditions.
- the icons may be displayed by changing the region classification of the icons.

- FIG. 10 is a diagram for explaining grouping. It is assumed that the image file 1 to the image file 9 all include shooting position information as metadata.
- the file name is given when an image file is generated by shooting with a camera. Each time a picture is taken by the camera, for example, the numerical part of the file name is incremented by 1 and is given to the image file. In determining whether or not they belong to the same group, for example, the difference between the shooting date and time of the determination target image file and the shooting date and time of the previous image file of the determination target image file is less than 10 minutes, which is a predetermined period. Or not.
- image file 2 As an example of an image file to be judged.
- the shooting date and time of the image file 2 is 09:33:18 on February 26, 2013. If the image files are sorted in ascending order by file name, the image file before the image file 2 is the image file 1.
- the shooting date of image file 1 is 09:03:07 on February 26, 2013.
