Definitions
- the invention relates to a folding case, which is particularly suitable for the storage of glasses.
- a prismatic spectacle case is known, which can be generated by a special folding interconnected planar surfaces. Two surfaces can be connected to each other by means of a magnetic closure or a Velcro fastener.
- the spectacle case can be folded when not in use in a relatively flat configuration. In the folded state, however, there are still several side surfaces on top of each other.
- the invention has for its object to provide a case available that can be brought when not in use in a flat configuration as possible and is flexible in terms of its functionality and its design.
- a hinged case for spectacles according to the invention comprises at least a) a bottom surface, b) a plurality of side surfaces adjoining the bottom surface, and
- the cover surfaces comprise magnetic elements which are arranged such that by folding around the folding areas a dimensionally stable three-dimensional body with a floor formed by the bottom surface and a floor spaced, formed by the top surfaces ceiling is produced whose top surfaces by the magnetic attraction of the magnetic elements can be connected to each other.
- Magnetic elements according to the invention are permanently magnetic, electromagnetic and magnetizable elements. It is only decisive that a combination of such magnetic elements is used, which fulfills the functions specified in claim 1. This is the case, for example, when permanent magnets are combined with each other and / or with magnetizable elements. Concrete options for the selection and arrangement of magnetic elements is related with the dependent claims and the description of the figures discussed in more detail.
- the case according to the invention has the advantage that it is completely unfoldable and thus very flat when not in use.
- the cover surfaces are designed and arranged in such a way that a magnetic connection between the cover surfaces is produced one above the other with any planar arrangement of the cover surfaces.
- the functionality of the case are increased insofar as the opening side of the case is variable by the choice of the arrangement of the top surfaces. This possibility will be referred to in detail in connection with the description of the figures.
- "superimposing" means that the surfaces are at least partially brought into contact with one another with their flat side.
- the closure of a case according to the invention is particularly reliable and durable, if two cover surfaces or two side surfaces in the folded state overlap at least partially and come into contact with each other. With regard to the required use of materials and the production costs, it is preferable if only the smallest possible surface areas overlap. The safety of the closure, however, is higher, the stronger the force acting between the cover elements magnetic force. This can be effected at a given maximum thickness of a surface, in particular by enlarging the overlapping partial surfaces. It should be noted that instead of a single bottom surface and a plurality of top surfaces also a single top surface and a plurality of bottom surface can be used. It is therefore understood that the terms top surface and bottom surface are interchangeable.
- a preferred embodiment of a case according to the invention comprises a bottom surface, four side surfaces and four top surfaces. More preferably, at least two of the cover surfaces extend over the entire ceiling of the case, so that they come to rest fully in the folded state. The other two cover surfaces preferably extend only over a partial area of the ceiling and particularly preferably complement one another approximately to the entire cover surface, so that a three-layer cover surface structure results in the area of the ceiling.
- two of the top surfaces each have two permanent magnets and two material magnetizable on the top surfaces. It has been shown that with this combination an overall very stable and at the same time cost-effective ceiling can be achieved.
- the permanent magnets are preferably arranged in the cover surfaces in such a way that, when the case is folded up, they come into contact with each other over the entire surface and in opposite polarity.
- the magnetic elements When the magnetic elements are disposed within the respective surfaces, in particular between two material webs used as the outer material, they are well protected against external influences, such as e.g. mechanical or direct thermal loads, protected.
- preferably rigid elements are used to give the case the necessary stability for spectacles or other fragile objects.
- thin metal plates of magnetizable material can be used between the upper materials. If the front and the back of the unfolded case of the invention have different surface materials, there is an increased design flexibility, especially if the case is designed so that by the choice of at least two folding configurations can be actively selected by the user, which upper material should be arranged with the case folded on the inside and which on the outside of the case. If the thickness of all surfaces is the same size, unfolded cases can be stacked on top of one another in the form of "tower towers" and stored side by side in appropriate towers.
- a case comprises at least partially, preferably over the entire surface abutting partial surfaces, which are held together by the magnetic elements.
- the ceiling or the floor comprises two partial surfaces and at least one additional surface arranged above and / or below these surfaces, which abut each other in the folded state and are held together by the magnetic elements.
- the additional surface may comprise, for example, the entire floor surface or ceiling surface.
- the partial surfaces can be arranged individually or together above or below the additional surface with folded case, resulting in different designs.
- two partial surfaces comprise approximately half of the floor surface or ceiling surface and are abutting surfaces or spaced-apart surfaces which are equidistant from one another.
- FIG. 1 b the case shown in Figure 1 a in the folded state in a side view
- Fig. 2a shows a second embodiment of a case according to the invention in the unfolded state
- Fig. 2b the case shown in Figure 2a in the folded state in a side view
- FIG. 1a shows an inventive case 10 in an unfolded state. It comprises a bottom surface 12, four side surfaces 14a-d adjoining the bottom surface 12, and top surfaces 16a-d adjoining the side surfaces 14a-d.
- the bottom surface 12 is connected to the side surfaces 14a-d and one side surface communicates with a top surface 16a-d via linear folding portions 18 with each other.
- the surfaces to be recognized in FIG. 1a are made of a uniform outer material, for example of a velvet fabric.
- the back, not visible in Figure 1 a surfaces are made of another outer material, for example made of leather. Between the upper materials of the cover surfaces 16a and 16b, the permanent magnets 20a-d shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1a are arranged as magnetic elements 19.
- cover surfaces 16c 16d rigid elements are arranged from a magnetizable material. To increase the stability further rigid elements in the side surfaces 14c and 14d are arranged. In order to bring the case from the unfolded state shown in FIG. 1 a into a folded state as shown in FIG. 1 b, first the side surfaces 14 a - d are folded into a vertical position relative to the base surface 12.
- the cover 16a-d are brought into a vertical position to the side surfaces 14a-d, so that the top surfaces 16a-d are arranged parallel to the bottom surface 12 and the bottom surface 12, the side surfaces 14a-d and the top surfaces 16a-d form a parallelepiped body ,
- the permanent magnets 20a and 20c and 20b and 20d are arranged in the cover surfaces 16a and 16b so that they lie one above the other in the folded state and attract each other.
- the magnetizable surfaces in the top surfaces 16c and 16d are additionally magnetically attracted by the permanent magnets 20a-d in the folded state.
- cover surfaces 16a-d in the configuration shown in Figure 1 are arranged in any order on each other and the top surfaces 16a-d attract each other magnetically in each arrangement.
- the outer design of the case 10 can be varied. It can also be determined by appropriate selection of the order on which side of the case 10 can be opened first.
- top surface 16a is used as the outer top surface
- the case first opens over the side surface 14a.
- top surface 16b is used as the outer top surface
- the case first opens over the side surface 14b.
- cover surfaces 16c, 16d are used as outer cover surfaces, the case can optionally be opened via the side surfaces 14c or 14d.
- the case shown in Figure 1 has a length of 16.5 cm, a width of 7 cm and a height of 4.5 cm.
- the thickness of the surfaces is approx. 2 mm.
- Preferred lengths of alternative cases are 1 0 cm to 20 cm, preferred widths of 1 cm to 10 cm and preferred heights of 1 cm to 10 cm. Preferred thicknesses of alternative cases are less than 5 mm.
- FIGS. 2 a and 2 b show a second embodiment of a case 10 according to the invention.
- the same reference numbers are used in these figures as in FIGS.
- FIGS. 2a and 2b differs essentially in the shape of the side surfaces 14a, 14b, which are trapezoidal in the present case. This results in - as can be seen in Figure 2b is a non-cuboid three-dimensional body with a trapezoidal base.
- the embodiments described above are not limiting.
- the invention can be varied as desired within the scope of the claims and taking into account the knowledge of a person skilled in the art.
- the number and size of the permanent magnets can be varied, the shapes of the surfaces can be changed or the materials for the bottom surface 12, the side surfaces 14a-d and the top surfaces 16a-d or the elements within these surfaces can be varied be used to configure the case for specific purposes or products.
