- a PDCCH with a format consisting of n CCEs can only start with a CCE having the same number as a multiple of n.
- the number of CCEs used for transmission of a specific PDCCH is determined by the base station according to channel conditions. For example, if the PDCCH is for a terminal having a good downlink channel (eg, close to a base station), one CCE may be sufficient. However, in case of a terminal having a bad channel (eg, close to a cell boundary), eight CCEs may be used to obtain sufficient robustness.
- the power level of the PDCCH may be adjusted according to channel conditions.
- the approach introduced in LTE is to define a limited set of CCE locations where the PDCCH can be located for each terminal.
- the limited set of CCE locations where the UE can find its own PDCCH may be referred to as a search space (SS).
- the search space has a different size according to each PDCCH format.
- UE-specific and common search spaces are defined separately.
- the UE-Specific Search Space (USS) is set individually for each terminal, and the range of the Common Search Space (CSS) is known to all terminals.
- UE-specific and common search spaces may overlap for a given terminal.
- the base station may not find CCE resources for transmitting the PDCCH to all possible UEs.
- the UE-specific hopping sequence is applied to the start position of the UE-specific search space in order to minimize the possibility of the above blocking leading to the next subframe.
- Table 3 shows the sizes of common and UE-specific search spaces.
- the terminal In order to keep the computational load according to the total number of blind decoding (BD) under control, the terminal is not required to simultaneously search all defined DCI formats.
- the terminal In general, within a UE-specific search space, the terminal always searches for formats 0 and 1A. Formats 0 and 1A have the same size and are distinguished by flags in the message.
- the terminal may be required to receive the additional format (eg, 1, 1B or 2 depending on the PDSCH transmission mode set by the base station).
- the UE searches for formats 1A and 1C.
- the terminal may be configured to search for format 3 or 3A.
- Formats 3 and 3A have the same size as formats 0 and 1A and can be distinguished by scrambled CRCs with different (common) identifiers, rather than terminal-specific identifiers.

- the random access procedure is also referred to as a random access channel (RACH) process.
- the random access procedure is variously used for initial access, uplink synchronization coordination, resource allocation, handover, and the like.
- the random access process is classified into a contention-based process and a dedicated (ie non-competition-based) process.
- the contention-based random access procedure is generally used including an initial access, and a dedicated random access procedure is limited to handover.
- the UE randomly selects a RACH preamble sequence. Accordingly, it is possible for a plurality of terminals to transmit the same RACH preamble sequence at the same time, which requires a contention cancellation process later.
- the dedicated random access process the UE uses the RACH preamble sequence that is allocated only to the UE by the BS. Therefore, the random access procedure can be performed without collision with other terminals.

- a PDCCH hereinafter, referred to as a PDCCH order
- the UE After transmitting the RACH preamble, the UE attempts to receive a random access response (RAR) within a pre-set time window. Specifically, the terminal attempts to detect a PDCCH (hereinafter, RA-RNTI PDCCH) having a random access RNTI (RA-RNTI) (eg, CRC in the PDCCH is masked to RA-RNTI) within a time window. Upon detecting the RA-RNTI PDCCH, the UE checks whether a RAR for itself exists in the PDSCH corresponding to the RA-RNTI PDCCH.
- RA-RNTI PDCCH a PDCCH having a random access RNTI (RA-RNTI) (eg, CRC in the PDCCH is masked to RA-RNTI)
- the RAR includes timing advance (TA) information indicating timing offset information for UL synchronization, UL resource allocation information (UL grant information), temporary terminal identifier (eg, Temporary Cell-RNTI, TC-RNTI), and the like. .
- the UE may perform UL transmission (eg, message 3) according to resource allocation information and TA value in the RAR.
- HARQ is applied to UL transmission corresponding to the RAR. Therefore, after transmitting the message 3, the terminal can receive the reception response information (eg, PHICH) corresponding to the message 3.
- the transmission of the uplink radio frame i starts before (N TA + N TAoffset ) * T s seconds before the downlink radio frame.
- N TAoffset 0 in FDD
- N TAoffset 624 in TDD.
- the N TAoffset value is a value previously recognized by the base station and the terminal. If N TA is indicated through a timing advance command in the random access procedure, the UE adjusts a transmission timing of a UL signal (eg, PUCCH / PUSCH / SRS) through the above equation.
- the UL transmission timing is set in multiples of 16T s .
- T s represents the sampling time and may be, for example, 1/30720 (ms) (see FIG. 2).

- RRH remote radio header
- UL transmission is performed using a method in which one TA value is commonly applied to a plurality of CCs, it may seriously affect synchronization of UL signals transmitted on the plurality of CCs.
- FIG. 10 illustrates a case where a plurality of CCs having different UL synchronizations are merged.
- a terminal merges two CCs, one of which CC (CC1) transmits and receives using RRH for limited coverage, etc., and the other CC (CC2) directly communicates with the base station without RRH.
- the propagation delay (or reception timing at the base station) of the UL signal transmitted through CC1 from the terminal and the propagation delay (or reception timing at the base station) of the UL signal transmitted through CC2 are determined by the terminal. It may be different for reasons such as position and frequency characteristics. When a plurality of CCs have different propagation delay characteristics, it may be desirable to have a plurality of TAs.
- FIG. 11 illustrates a situation in which a UE merges two CCs (eg, PCell (PCC) and SCell (SCC)) and transmits a UL signal by applying different TAs to each cell.
- TA 1 may be applied to UL transmission of the PCell
- TA 2 may be applied to UL transmission of the SCell.
- the figure illustrates a case in which a transmission end time of an UL subframe / signal (eg, PUSCH, PUCCH, SRS, etc.) is advanced by TA based on the reception end time of a DL subframe.
- the transmission start time of the UL subframe / signal eg, PUSCH, PUCCH, SRS, etc.
- the transmission start time of the UL subframe / signal may be advanced by TA based on the reception start time of the DL subframe.
- the TA group may include one or more CCs.
- One TA may be commonly applied to the CC (s) in the TAG.
- TAG_PCC TAG to which a PCC (PCell) belongs
- a TA determined based on the PCC or adjusted through a random access procedure accompanying the PCC may be applied to all CC (s) in the TAG_PCC. .
- TAG_SCC consisting of only SCC (SCell) (s)
- SCell SCC
- a method of applying a TA determined based on a specific SCC in the TAG_SCC to all CC (s) in the TAG_SCC may be considered.
- the random access procedure accompanying the SCC may be suitable for a non-competition based scheme that triggers using a PDCCH (ie, a PDCCH order) for the base station to command the RACH preamble transmission, rather than a contention based scheme triggered by the UE. Can be.
- the random access response includes a UL grant, a TA, and the like.
- the terminal cannot set the TA value arbitrarily.
- the Msg1 transmission start timing on PCC
- the DL subframe reception start / end timing on PCC
- the DL subframe reception start / end timing means the reception timing (time) of the DL subframe start point / end point.
- the UL subframe transmission start / end timing means the transmission timing (time) of the corresponding UL subframe start point / end point.
- TAG_SCC i.e., TAG_SCC
- RA-SCC specific SCC
- the procedure (for convenience, SCC-RACH) can be performed.
- the TA value adjusted / determined based on the SCC-RACH may be applied to all CCs in the TAG_SCC in common.
- the terminal cannot arbitrarily set the TA value for the TAG_SCC to which the RA-SCC belongs.
- the Msg1 transmission start timing on the RA-SCC may be set to match the DL subframe reception start / end timing on the RA-SCC. That is, when applying the existing method, the TA value adjusted through the SCC-RACH is equal to the time difference between the DL subframe reception start / end timing and the UL subframe transmission start timing in the UE for the TAG_SCC to which the RA-SCC belongs. Can be interpreted.
- heterogeneous UL channels / signals eg, PUSCH and PUCCH, PUSCH and SRS, or PUCCH and SRS
- PUSCH and PUCCH, PUSCH and SRS, or PUCCH and SRS may be simultaneously required on the plurality of CCs.
- the UL transmission timing is the same in all CCs. Therefore, when heterogeneous UL channels / signals are simultaneously transmitted on a plurality of CCs, there is no misalignment between the base station and the UE with respect to their UL transmission timing, and thus signal drop and power control according to the protection priority for each UL channel / signal are performed. There is no problem in applying.
- heterogeneous UL channel / signals are not in the same (SC-FDM or OFDM) symbol position in the same subframe due to different UL transmission timing for each TAG, but in the same subframe. Different symbol positions or neighboring subframes may collide at different symbol positions.
- the terminal can accurately know the UL transmission timing difference between the TAG, but the base station can not exactly know the UL transmission timing difference between the TAG may cause a UL transmission timing mismatch between the terminal and the base station.
- This may cause inconsistency between the base station and the terminal in applying signal drop and power control according to the protection priority for each UL channel / signal when a plurality of UL transmissions collide, which may cause not only the corresponding terminal but also other terminals and systems. It may affect / deteriorate the whole.
- FIG. 12 illustrates a problem in which a mismatch occurs between a base station and a terminal with respect to UL transmission timing when a plurality of TAGs are set.
- TAG1 and TAG2 two TAGs
- TA1 (Tx_UL_TAG1-Rx_DL_TAG1).
- Tx_UL_TAG1 is a transmission start time of the TAG1 UL subframe
- Rx_DL_TAG1 is a reception end time of the TAG1 DL subframe.
- Tx_UL_TAG2 (Tx_UL_TAG2-Rx_DL_TAG2).
- Tx_UL_TAG2 is a transmission start time of the TAG2 UL subframe
- Rx_DL_TAG2 is a reception end time of the TAG2 DL subframe.
- the TAG1 UL transmission subframe and the TAG2 UL subframe are displaced.
- the figure illustrates a case where the TAG1 UL subframe # (i + 1) overlaps at the symbol level with the TAG2 UL subframe #i (hatching part).
- the UE can accurately know the UL transmission timing difference between TAG1 and TAG2. Therefore, the UE accurately recognizes whether or not the signal of the TAG1 UL subframe # (i + 1) and the signal of the TAG2 UL subframe #i overlap, and accordingly the operation (eg, one signal according to priority) Drop).
- the base station cannot know the UL transmission timing difference occurring at the time of UL transmission in the terminal only by the reception condition of the UL signal.
- the base station can only indirectly infer the above-described UL transmission timing difference using the TA allocated to each TAG.
- the TA assigned to each TAG is a relative value determined based on the DL reception time of the corresponding TAG, it is not possible to provide accurate information about the UL transmission timing difference between the TAGs.
- the difference between the TA between the TAG includes information about the difference in the downlink reception time, which causes the base station does not know the exact UL transmission timing difference.
- TA2-TA1 difference [(Tx_UL_TAG2-Tx_UL_TAG1)-(Rx_DL_TAG2-Rx_DL_TAG1)]
- the base station when the base station simultaneously receives UL signals from different TAGs, the base station cannot accurately know the difference in the UL transmission timing between the TAGs, and thus cannot accurately know whether or not the overlap / range (hatching area) is achieved. As a result, an error may occur during signal processing (eg, decoding) of the hatching region at the base station.
- signal processing eg, decoding
- the RACH preamble transmission start timing in any CC (hereinafter, TAG1 Random Access Component Carrier, TAG1-RACC) belonging to an arbitrary TAG (hereinafter, TAG1) is determined.
- TAG1 Random Access Component Carrier, TAG1-RACC TAG1 Random Access Component Carrier
- TAG2 Reference Component Carrier, TAG2-RefCC TAG2 Reference Component Carrier
- TAG2 RefCC TAG2 Reference Component Carrier
- TAG2RefCC TAG2 Reference Component Carrier
- TAG2RefCC TAG2 Reference Component Carrier
- TAG1 may be a TAG (ie, TAG_SCC) composed of SCC (s) only.
- TAG2 may be a UL synchronous (or TA tuned) TAG.
- TAG2 may be a TAG with a PCC (ie, TAG_PCC).
- TAG2-RefCC may be a PCC.
- information on TAG2 (TAG2-RefCC) (eg, TAG2 and / or TAG2-RefCC identification information) may be separately signaled.
- TAG1_TA the TA of TAG1
- TAG2_TA the TA of TAG2
- -TAG1_TA (Tx_UL_TAG1-RACC-Rx_DL_TAG2-RefCC)
- -TAG2_TA (Tx_UL_TAG2-RefCC-Rx_DL_TAG2-RefCC)
- Tx_UL_TAG1-RACC is the UL subframe transmission start timing in the TAG1 RACC
- Tx_UL_TAG2-RefCC is the UL subframe transmission start timing in the TAG2 RefCC
- Rx_DL_TAG2-RefCC is the DL subframe reception start timing in the TAG2 RefCC.
- TAG1_RACC TAG1
- TAG2-RefCC TAG2
- Opt 1 and Opt 3 the base station can accurately infer the relative time difference of UL transmission start timings between TA groups.
- a timing obtained by applying a predetermined timing offset ie, initial TA value
- RACH preamble transmission start timing in TAG1-RACC can be set.
- the initial TA value may be 0 (in case of FDD) or a specific value (in consideration of DL / UL transmission / reception switching timing gap in case of TDD).
- FIG. 13 illustrates a UL synchronization acquisition scheme according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the left figure illustrates a situation in which UL synchronization is perfect for TAG1 and TAG2, and the right figure illustrates a state in which UL synchronization is only for TAG2.
- a case in which the proposed method is applied to a random access process for UL synchronization of TAG1 will be described with reference to the right drawing.
- time-related parameters in the drawing are defined as follows.
- Tx_1 (terminal) UL transmission timing (absolute timing) of TAG1 in UL synchronized state
- Tx_2 (terminal) UL transmission timing (absolute timing) of TAG2 in UL synchronized state
- Rx_12 UL reception timing (absolute timing) of (base station) of TAG1, TAG2 in UL synchronized state
- T_d1 UL transmit / receive timing difference (ie, time difference between Rx_12 and Tx_1) in TAG1 (between the terminal and the base station)
- T_d2 UL transmit / receive timing difference (ie, time difference between Rx_12 and Tx_2) in TAG2 (between the terminal and the base station)
- T_diff UL transmission timing difference (ie, time difference between Tx_1 and Tx_2) between TAG1 and TAG2 (terminal)
- Rx_ra (base station) RACH preamble reception timing (absolute timing) in TAG1 when the proposed method is applied
- the RACH preamble transmission timing on TAG1 (TAG1-RACC) is consistent with the UL transmission timing (Tx_2) on TAG2 (TAG2-RefCC). Because of this, the RACH preamble arrives by T_diff later than the UL reception timing Rx_12 of the (UL synchronized) TAG1 (TAG1-RACC) (see Rx_ra). Therefore, the base station can accurately infer the UL transmission timing difference T_diff between TAG1 and TAG2 by calculating the time difference between Rx_12 and Rx_ra.
- FIG. 14 illustrates a UL synchronization acquisition process according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- a case of performing a random access process to obtain the UL but this may be replaced with other equivalent process (eg, ranging process) depending on the system.
- This example can be used, for example, for UL synchronization acquisition of TAG_SCC.
- the UE may receive a PDCCH order from the base station indicating the start of the random access procedure from the base station (S1402).
- the PDCCH order may be received through a CC scheduling a specific CC (hereinafter referred to as RACC) in TAG # N.
- RACC a specific CC
- TAG # N may be TAG_SCC
- RACC may be a specific SCC.
- the UE transmits the RACH preamble through the RACC (hereinafter, TAG # N-RACC) in TAG # N (S1404).
- TAG # N-RACC the transmission time of the RACH preamble is determined based on a specific CC of the TAG # M (hereinafter, TAG # M-RefCC).
- TAG # M-RefCC the transmission time of the RACH preamble on the TAG # N-RACC may be determined based on the TAG # M-RefCC according to the Opt 1 to 3 described above.
- the terminal receives the RACH response information (PDSCH) from the base station (S1406).
- RACH response information (PDSCH) includes TA information.
- the TA information may be determined based on TAG # M-RefCC.
- RACH response information (PDSCH) may be received via the PCC.
- the PDCCH scheduling RACH response information (PDSCH) includes a RA-RNTI and may be received through CSS of the PCC (not shown).

- Within DwPTS) may exist before the end of reception for the DL period. That is, the RACH preamble transmission timing of the TAG1-RACC and the DL reception interval (that is, the overlapped DL region) of the TAG1-RACC may overlap each other.
- a terminal operating in a half-duplex scheme may be considered due to a hardware configuration or other reasons / purposes.

That is, the UE may assume that PDSCH / EPDCCH / PMCH / PRS is not scheduled / transmitted in the DL region, and may skip performing measurement / estimation (and accompanying report) on the DL signal / channel in the DL region. .
- the use of the last partial symbol (s) (hereinafter, use-restricted symbol (s)) of the DL region may be restricted so that the DL region overlapped with the RACH preamble transmission timing does not overlap. That is, the UE may perform a reception operation (eg, PDSCH / EPDCCH / PMCH / PRS scheduling / transmission and DL signal / channel measurement / estimation) only in the DL region excluding the use-restricted symbol (s).
- the information on the use-restriction symbol interval (or DL region except the corresponding symbol interval) may be predetermined, signaled by the base station, or reported by the terminal.
- setting the Msg1 transmission start timing reference in the TAG1-RACC to a specific time point (eg, subframe start / end timing (eg, Opt 1, 2 or 3)) of the TAG2-RefCC may be applied as follows.
- TAG1-RACC TAG1-RACC

- TAG2-RefCC propagation delay for TAG2
- TAG1-RACC TAG1-RACC Msg1 transmitted according to the subframe start / end timing of TAG2-RefCC This may be useful when restricting reception from the previous subframe (from the base station's point of view).

- the RACC may be a CC in the TAG_SCC.
- the UE may determine a transmission time of the RACH preamble (S1602).
- the reference time point used to determine the RACH preamble transmission time may be given differently according to conditions / settings.
- the transmission time of the RACH preamble for the RACC may be determined based on a specific time point (eg, start / end timing of the RACC subframe) of the RACC (Opt 4).
- the transmission time of the RACH preamble for the RACC may be set based on a specific time point of the RefCC (eg, RefCC subframe start / end timing (eg, Opt 1, 2, or 3)).
- the RefCC may be a CC belonging to a TAG different from the TAG to which the RACC belongs.
- RefCC may be a CC (eg, PCC) in TAG_PCC.
- the UE may transmit the RACH preamble on the RACC according to the transmission time point determined in step S1602 (S1604).
- the method proposed in the present specification is equally applicable to the RACH preamble transmission start timing in a contention-based SCC random access procedure triggered by the UE randomly through the RACH preamble transmission to the SCC without additional instruction from the base station (by the PDCCH order).
